The brush did not spin on my DC39 vacuum cleaner. I brought it to this center and I was told that they could not do anything because the serial number was not readable. It was was on the lowest spot of the unit and was partially obliterated because this spot was rubbing the floor. My son took it apart, washed, and now it works as supposed. When you change oil or tires on a car nobody asks for VIN, make, model, and year is sufficient. If a serial number is really important, which was not in my case, why to place it where it would be obliterated? read more

I left my Dyson at the store two weeks ago, which was the time frame they told me they needed to repair it. I called the store to see if I could pick it up, but they didn't answer the phone. Came in to get my dyson hair dryer fixed at 1:30(checked the other photos of when their hours of operations were) realized the hours have changed. 2pm is the afternoon start time, totally fine waiting 30mins. Was greeted by Shawn(hopefully i spelled it right) he was very informative and helpful considering he was new. 15 mins after taking a look, he let me know it wasn't repairable and gave me options going forward. I wish I could remember the names of the techs who worked on my Dyson vacuums because they did not suck. See what I did there. I like to hit up these service centers as they are getting harder to find with some closing or having shortened hours due to staffing issues. One of my Dyson vacuums (DC50) is actually a model that is no longer being made and parts are getting harder to find. I only bought it about 9 years ago but hey I should have known that the deal was too good to be true when I bought it. The devil is in the details. Yes 9 years ago these Dysons keep ticking. In fact when I brought it in the guy at the front desk said he has never seen one. That did not stop him and he figured out what was needed and called around asking questions and finding parts for it eventually. The DC50 is now good to go. This service center might be out of the way with so few around but with the cost of these machines it is worth taking advantage of the free checkups to keep your investment going. read more

Last time I arrived with three vacuums only ten minutes before closing. RANDY was the tech helped me clear up all the blocked passages, as well as changing a filter and a broken tube. He also showed me how to check blockages and filters. He stayed after hours so I didn't have to make another trip. The machines worked like new again. Terrible service, extremely rude. From the beginning when we came the representative was extremely snappy, and we ignored it. Then when we bought the new part, the representative said I will trash the new part. We said thanks we will actually keep it. He got extremely rude and said YOU SURRENDERED THIS PART WE WILL TRASH IT. He kept repeating in a loud and rude tone I AM GOING TO TRASH THIS. I said no we never surrendered it we bought a new part from you and we will take this part that we own back with us as well. it's ridiculous how this is supposed to be a place to provide customer service and we are giving them our money meanwhile they're trying to show authority and rudeness in that manner. So in January, I had the unfortunate event of two of my Dyson vacuums breaking. The cyclone part for my stick vacuum cracked, and the upright vacuum stopped sucking up anything. At the time, I never thought I should have written down the serial numbers or contact the customer service by phone first. Because I live relatively close to the nearest Dyson Service Center, I figured I could just swing by real quick, have it diagnosed, repaired, and go home with a working vacuum again. Oh how wrong I was. I wish someone had told me that it will be the LAST TIME I'll ever see my upright vacuum again. So the first and the last time I've gone to the Fairfax Dyson Service Center, I was blown away by how cramped and disorganized the whole situation was. The inside was very dusty and the line had 6-8 people ahead of me. There's no sign in sheet and only one person working. The phone is ringing nonstop with nobody answering. I waited about close to an hour for my turn with many people leaving unhappy. It was sort of astonishing how many of the same models of vacuums were getting dropped off or ready to be picked up! And the people queuing to drop off their devices also had the same model, mine included. Anyhow, once it was my turn to get my vacuums dealt with, I was able to have my stick vacuum repaired there and then. The cyclone was entirely replaced right away. I was told that they don't have the necessary parts to repair the upright vacuum that day and need to leave my device there. "Can I help the next person in line!!" said the service center guy. I didn't want to make other people wait so I left without asking more questions. Long story short, I never heard back from the service center. I was told that someone will call me to give me a quote for repair and pickup date but never did. Mind you it was dropped off in January. It's March 2nd today. Well, a whole week went by after the vacuum was dropped off and not a word was heard from them. I tried calling them only to reach voicemail or a voicemail not accepting any messages. It eventually updated the voicemail recording instructing to email them. So I emailed them and heard nothing back. Meanwhile, I have reached the Dyson Customer Service twice. The first time around, they told me to call back in about 14 business days because nothing was showing on their end of the system. I was informed that they could try locating it if I have the serial number for the device located ON THE VACUUM or the manual.......well if I had the vacuum on hand, I wouldn't be calling in the first place? No? And the manual was tossed and recycled awhile back. It's readily available to view it from the Dyson website so I never thought I'd need to keep it. So another 2 weeks went by and I had heard nothing from either places-- not the Fairfax Dyson Service Center or the Dyson Customer Service. And by then, I was entirely fed up with the whole ordeal. The crazy amount of dust and dog hair in my household, the multiple unanswered calls and emails to the Fairfax Service Center, and the non solution offered by the Dyson customer service representative. And now that it's March and I enjoy having a replacement vacuum altogether, I'm writing here to let everyone know that if you ever need your Dyson serviced in any way, CALL their customer service first. ONLY take it to the physical Dyson Service Center as a last resort. Those are the exact words given to by the customer service rep I spoke to the last time and realizing my upright vacuum is forever gone. I am just hopeful that something like this doesn't get repeated again!!! Not for my household or anyone else for that matter! read more

I'm now a loyal Dyson fan for life! My Dyson V10 vacuum stopped working - it wouldn't turn on. I found out their cordless vacuums have a 2 year warranty and mine is only a year old. Based on their technical support, I had the option of either mailing it in or going to a service center. This service center is less than 20 minutes away so I took my vacuum in. The gentleman who helped me asked me what was going on, I told him my issue - that I would press the trigger and it wouldn't run. He said "okay give me 5 minutes" and went in the back to fix it. Exactly 5 minutes later, he brought out my vacuum completely fixed! No exaggeration. Also, while I was waiting to be seen, he brought out another customer's vacuum and even though it was out of warranty, fixed it for free as a courtesy this time. Overall, amazing customer service and I will only purchase Dyson vacuums from here on out! read more

I am at a loss for words. Today my stick vacuum broke, the trigger/switch broke, it was starting to fail, but this morning it finally broke for good. I made the 40 min drive hoping for a quick repair, there was just one person working the store, I wish I would have got his name. I watched him explain to an older couple why their battery was draining so fast, he then went to the back room and after a few mins came out after replacing 2 batteries (they had two machines). They asked him how much, he said have a nice day. I was really surprised, batteries are expensive. Then it was my turn, he said the part would be a week and that he would call me, I really needed a vacuum, so i was going to buy one right then and there. It was his lunch time, so I told him I would be back. I came back about 45 minutes later and said I was ready to buy a second vacuum while my other one was waiting for repair. The next thing I knew he came out with my vacuum fixed. I was floored, never expected it. I asked him how much I owed him, he said have a great day. He saved me a return trip and 350 bucks on another vacuum. Dyson is a great product, we love our vacuum enough to buy a second one, this just shows me how much they stand by their product. That guy was doing great things for people today, he deserves a bonus! read more

This service center is a joke. No one ever answers when I call. The hours are not the same as what it advertises and they have had my vacuum for almost 2 months. When I received the text to pick it up and advertising said it closed at 4 when I arrived at 330 the post on door said 3! It is 45 minutes from my home and this is the 2nd time I've come to check if it was ready and even with the text to confirm no luck! Dyson vacuums have gona down in quality because they can't even have a service center open normal hours and so many machine are malfunctioning. I am very frustrated ! read more

Truly excellent service at this officially-licensed Dyson service center (DSC). If you have a malfunctioning piece of Dyson equipment and you are nearby, I'd recommend going directly to this location instead of trying to work through Dyson's over-the-phone troubleshooting program, which I found to be a waste of time. The DSC technician received my machine - which had completely stopped working - spent five minutes replacing a critical part that he offered free of charge despite our vacuum's warranty's expiration three months prior. Helpful and efficient staff. Couldn't recommend more highly. read more

I visited the Dyson Service Center in Fairfax today with my Dyson Outcast as it had suffered a heart attack. I think from the time I walked in the door to the time I left was maybe 8 minutes. I was helped by, Rick, who understood the assignment and replaced the motor in my motorhead. I gently handed her over to him and into the back room he went, and just like that magic happened and he turned right around came back out and said it's all fixed, you're all done. I've never been so excited to have my vacuum back. I've only been without her for two days but if you know, you know. Many thanks to Rick and an amazing job. I appreciate you. read more

We kept calling to check hours but nobody picked up the phone. We decided to go with the hours Google had on their page. It was accurate. The battery in our V6 lasted only about a minute at a time. The guy at the service center promptly greeted us, took our vacuum in the back and 3 minutes later, returned our vacuum with a new battery! We weren't charged anything! They won't answer the phone, so it's impossible to get a status update on repairs. After calling numerous times repeatedly and getting the answering machine, someone answered! And then they disconnected 10 seconds into the call. They never called me back. I called five times right after and got the answering machine each time. Very frustrating experience. Update: since we called numerous times throughout the day without a response we called dyson customer service. They said our vacuum service hadn't been updated into their system so there is no record they have our vacuum. :( read more

Both times they repaired the vacuum for free!! The service and quality of Dyson really how you get the value for the money you spend on the vacuum. They store is very nice and clean. They also have several new and slightly used Dyson products for sell (and at great prices) cheaper than you would pay online or at the store. At that time they couldn't give the receipt but he told me there will be email sent. Money was charge that day, but Never received it. Call the store phone went straight to customer service they also told me not in stock call back in week. So i did and still not in stock. Than i got email to pick it up in store i went to store. And store person says no still not in stock. And it looks like someone canceled the order without money back. So He reodered it. I like Dyson products. This store or the service not so much. We have an upright ball style vacuum that still sucks up direct. The problem is it no longer glides across the carpet. You have to push it hard, and it leaves deep tracks in the carpet. The man working there said it is the carpet's fault, that is what happens with old carpets. Ours is 2 years old and high quality. Nothing matted down. But he looked at me like I was head case when I explained that and literally rolled his eyes. The worst. read more

This is a well deserved (and hard earned) 5 star review. Dyson's seems to give no *&%$ about trying to provide customer support. Call their toll free number - they force you to text or or hang up on you. Typing to resolve a technical problem is the worst. They sent a new part that didn't work - so they sent me to this service center. The service place isn't close to my house, has crazy short hours (open 4 days a week basically for 5 hours a day) and a phone that does not get answered. BUT MAN WAS THE GUY WORKING THERE GOOD! There was a line of very kind people and only one guy. He was fast . . . knocked out four of the five repairs in front of me within minutes. Diagnosed and fixed my problem in less than 3 minutes. Told me what was wrong (so I don't do it again - wash your filter and don't use it until it is bone dry) and sent me on my way. It was worth driving out here from Kensington, half an hour during rush hour, no less, to get my vacuum cleaner looked at. Unbelievable that my Dyson cordless wasn't working perfectly. Pier, the young man who helped me knew right away what was wrong!! He didn't even make me feel stupid when he showed me and helped me figure it out in the future. Mind you, I've had this little wonder for years. I was interested in an air purifier because of my allergies and new puppy. He gave me good information. I brought my Dyson Ball Animal 2 vacuum in because the roller would stop turning and it had a burning smell. There were 2 people ahead of me and I was in and out in less than 25 minutes. The serviceman replaced the roller and one of the filters and it is now working fine. Both men working there were very pleasant.
