I'm so happy I found this cute little bakery! The flavors are absolutely phenomenal and so unique…read more I love that they use high-quality ingredients because you can really taste the difference. Everything tastes so fresh and thoughtfully made, and you don't feel uncomfortable or bloated afterward. I also had such a wonderful experience meeting the owner and executive chef, Rubina. She is such a delight - so sweet, humble, and welcoming! My friend and I tried both a vegan cupcake and a regular one, and both were phenomenal. They weren't too sweet or too heavy, and the texture, flavor balance, and sweetness were just perfect. You can really tell there's so much love and care put into what they make. I'm so happy I found this spot and look forward to coming back.

I have been here twice in the past, but not in a long time. Needed to buy a box of yummy cupcakes for my friend's birthday and wanted few for me and my son. Rubina, the owner being so sweet, kind, nice, and helpful helped me to choose variety of cupcakes for my friend, and also helped me to decide what my cravings were.? I went with like 6 cupcakes of different kind, and they looked AMAZING!! Got Chocolate cupcake, berry cupcake with light frosting on top, & Red Velvet Cupcake for me and my son to share. Their cupcakes are seriously addicting, in the most dangerous way!:-) They are light, fresh, yummy, and full of flavor w/out being too sweet. Simply irresistible. They have a clean shop, cute, quaint, and welcoming. They only make cupcakes. No other types of goodies. Just letting you guys know. They do deliveries and small catering for your occasions. Moderate prices. Plenty of parking shared with numerous businesses and one last thing; go see the owner and she will help you to pick out your favorites!

I spoke to her about options and we went with vanilla and Italian buttercream. She made us a small layered round for cake cutting and the cake table and then three sheet cakes to be served from the kitchen. It looked great and we loved the taste. Everyone told us how delicious it was. The cake wasn't too dense, or too fluffy, and really felt like a true wedding cake. Don't let the name period pastries fool you. Dani is a true professional and I would hire her again in a heartbeat. ** for weddings, we found a lot of bakeries charge so much because they have to send a decorator with the cake to do any touch-ups on-site if the cake gets messed up in transit but Dani does everything herself so it's a gigantic benefit and overall savings.

Dani sent me a list of almost every ingredient and amount she used in the cake which was incredibly helpful as my mother has to track her intake. She truly went above and beyond to accommodate our pastry needs and delivered a stunning and absolutely delicious cake! It was a hit and my mother was able to truly indulge and enjoy it. I'll definitely be ordering here again as it's so hard to find bakeries that work with dietary restrictions. I 110% recommend Period Pastries and look forward to purchasing for the next family birthday! It was truly a pleasure working with Dani & being able to make my cake dreams come true!

I ordered two cakes for my daughter's birthday via e-mail and the experience was a positive one…read more I sent her photos of what I would like and she executed them well. The flavor selection was decent. I opted for celebration and vanilla. The vanilla was so moist. The design of the cake turned out nicely. I wanted the cakes to be delivered and they were delivered earlier than expected. What a surprise. Thank you!!

I found this bakery through Yelp because I was looking for a custom birthday cake for my…read moregranddaughter's 3rd birthday party. I contacted the baker about a Blippi and Meekah-themed 6-inch cake. The quote was $145 for the cake plus $25 for an edible image, for a $170 total before the amount later identified as tax. Free pickup was offered. I was dealing with several important things at the time and did not respond to the initial quote immediately, but I prepared my confirmation on September 12, the date given to decide and contacted the baker on September 13 to confirm the order. She accepted the order and provided payment instructions. I do not use Zelle or Venmo, but I have Cash App and was prepared to either pay cash in full in person or the deposit that way. Before sending the deposit, I asked one simple question: why was the total $186.63, including $16.63 in tax, when the quoted cake and edible image totaled $170? I was simply asking for clarification before paying. I asked because my understanding of California Department of Tax and Fee Administration guidance is that a whole cake sold to go is generally not subject to sales tax. I wanted to understand the basis for the additional charge before making my payment. I was not refusing to pay; I was asking for clarification. Instead of answering the question, the baker abruptly canceled my order. I attempted to call to discuss it directly, but was sent to her voicemail mailbox which was full and I could not leave a message. Afterward, she explained that she had become uneasy about the order and said she was canceling for the best. ‍ She also characterized my statement that I would accurately review my experience on Yelp as a threat of a bad review, which is not something I would do. I would never threaten anyone. I was explaining that I would give an honest account of my actual customer experience which is what Yelp is all about. What disappointed me most was that the order had been accepted and confirmed, yet asking a question about a charge resulted in the order being canceled rather than the charge being explained. I am a disabled grandmother and was trying to arrange a special birthday cake for my granddaughter's party. I would have preferred a simple answer to my question and a completed order. Based on my experience, I would not order from this business again. but instead I will go to back ordering from Nothin Bundt or Susies Cakes and just order the toppers online, that way I know what I am getting with no hidden fees.

Finally tried SusieCakes after hearing so much about it, and I can see why it has such a following…read more The frosting is definitely the star of the show here. Their buttermilk frosting is so rich, creamy, and smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. The cake itself is pretty good, but honestly feels more like a vessel for all that delicious frosting rather than the main attraction. I tried the chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing, the coconut cupcake, and the chocolate cupcake with coffee icing. The chocolate with vanilla icing was my favorite by far. The chocolate cake had a nice flavor and paired really well with the thick, creamy vanilla frosting. The coconut cupcake was also good, especially if you like coconut, although the cake itself was a little stodgy and dense compared to what I was expecting. The chocolate with coffee icing was good as well, and I liked the slightly richer coffee flavor with the chocolate cake. Overall, I thought SusieCakes lived up to the hype, especially if you're someone who loves frosting. I think the frosting is what really makes these cupcakes stand out, while the cake portions are good but not necessarily amazing on their own. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other flavors, but I'd especially want to try more of the cupcakes with their buttermilk frosting.

I have heard so much about this place and wanted to try it myself to make my own determination based on my own experience. Loved it from the minute I entered, until the minute I exited. Got there at 5pm and was helped by Kayla with a pretty smile. She wanted to see how she could help and what was it that I wanted. I got 2 nice sized cupcakes. One Coconut flavor, with delicious frosting, and the other one Red Velvet. Two of my favorite cupcakes. They make everything from scratch at their bakery. They have vegan, gluten free options and also regular options. They have a great selection of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, candles, and you can customize your cake or any other types of dessert in your own way. Place was very beautiful, clean, including all the windows. It doesn't have indoor seating. Got my cupcakes and left. Both flavors were so fresh and delicious. I took a bite of each. It was just a tad bit too sweet for me, but still delicious. Next time I'm willing to try the vegan or gluten free varieties. Other bakeries usually put way too much frosting on the cupcakes and it overpowers the taste of the cake for me. This was just perfect. Next time when there is a special occasion, I will NOT hesitate to order from this lovely, cute, quaint bakery. Thank you all..:-)
