Everything tastes so fresh and thoughtfully made, and you don't feel uncomfortable or bloated afterward. I also had such a wonderful experience meeting the owner and executive chef, Rubina. She is such a delight - so sweet, humble, and welcoming! My friend and I tried both a vegan cupcake and a regular one, and both were phenomenal. They weren't too sweet or too heavy, and the texture, flavor balance, and sweetness were just perfect. You can really tell there's so much love and care put into what they make. Their cupcakes are seriously addicting, in the most dangerous way!:-) They are light, fresh, yummy, and full of flavor w/out being too sweet. Simply irresistible. They have a clean shop, cute, quaint, and welcoming. They only make cupcakes. No other types of goodies. Just letting you guys know. They do deliveries and small catering for your occasions. I contacted the baker about a Blippi and Meekah-themed 6-inch cake. The quote was $145 for the cake plus $25 for an edible image, for a $170 total before the amount later identified as tax. Free pickup was offered. I was dealing with several important things at the time and did not respond to the initial quote immediately, but I prepared my confirmation on September 12, the date given to decide and contacted the baker on September 13 to confirm the order. She accepted the order and provided payment instructions. I do not use Zelle or Venmo, but I have Cash App and was prepared to either pay cash in full in person or the deposit that way. Before sending the deposit, I asked one simple question: why was the total $186.63, including $16.63 in tax, when the quoted cake and edible image totaled $170? I was simply asking for clarification before paying. I asked because my understanding of California Department of Tax and Fee Administration guidance is that a whole cake sold to go is generally not subject to sales tax. I wanted to understand the basis for the additional charge before making my payment. I was not refusing to pay; I was asking for clarification. Instead of answering the question, the baker abruptly canceled my order. I attempted to call to discuss it directly, but was sent to her voicemail mailbox which was full and I could not leave a message. Afterward, she explained that she had become uneasy about the order and said she was canceling for the best. ‍ She also characterized my statement that I would accurately review my experience on Yelp as a threat of a bad review, which is not something I would do. I would never threaten anyone. I was explaining that I would give an honest account of my actual customer experience which is what Yelp is all about. What disappointed me most was that the order had been accepted and confirmed, yet asking a question about a charge resulted in the order being canceled rather than the charge being explained. I am a disabled grandmother and was trying to arrange a special birthday cake for my granddaughter's party. I would have preferred a simple answer to my question and a completed order. Based on my experience, I would not order from this business again. but instead I will go to back ordering from Nothin Bundt or Susies Cakes and just order the toppers online, that way I know what I am getting with no hidden fees.

Everything was vegan & gluten free! The geode cookies were so lifelike that my friends didn't want to eat them. I was a little wary of the Earl Grey flavored cake, but it has become my new favorite flavor. It's not entirely subtle, but regularly enjoying Earl Grey tea, it definitely pulls in the earthy-spice-lemon aspects. The frosting was a bit too sweet, but technically, the lavender flavor did work really well. Money well spent and I hope that I can order again from here.

Gave us the best price quote for what we were looking for: something rustic and elegant: a Naked 3-tiered wedding cake. Then we placed a vintage wedding cake topper on and it was perfection! We gave her a week's notice. And we picked our cake the day prior to our wedding ceremony at the Chevy Chase country and they refrigerated onsite. And we were set! All the other price quotes on Zola were hundreds of $$ inflated, and people were demanding. Her cake shop is a cute lil shop front, located in a cozy lil strip mall. Ya gotta pay attention when driving or ya might miss it! Best of all she gave us 12 mini cupcakes as a thank you. How SWEET is that! Maybe we'll have some spooky themed ones, in time for Halloween. Those flavors were soooooo yummy! In addition, they created delicious jello cups, mousse cups, gorgeous floral cakepops, chocolate dipped pretzels, Madelines, rice krispie treats, and cupcakes for my engagement and Beauty and the Beast/Cinderella themed bridal shower. It is a…read morespecial super skill I have where I can find a rare item that someone has desired their entire life or have the foresight to know what a person needs before they even know it, themselves. I just love to make people feel special! My boyfriend's 41st birthday was quickly approaching and I had the idea to supplement his gifts with life themed cookies: those royal icing decorated cookies that are the rage at events in the vein of a cookie per life moment or characteristic of my boyfriend (who is a twin, by the way!). I wanted to 'shop local' and reached out in one of my neighborhood Facebook groups looking for an artisan, local baker/bakery who does this sort of thing. Receiving a few responses, it was The Sugar'd Whisk that stood out and I immediately knew I had to hire Lexi, the owner/operator/baker/decorator. The Sugar'd Whisk is a cookie and cake company that you would see on those competition shows on Food Network or Netflix creating the most gorgeous and elevated or charming and delightfully decorated cookies and cakes for events, birthdays, weddings, baby and wedding showers, gender reveals, grad parties and just about whatever! Lexi is amazingly skilled and is up to date with the most modern trends or classic styles. Just browse her gallery of work and you will be blown away. There is nothing she can't do. I contacted The Sugar'd Whisk per her website where you can fill out an inquiry form (please AT LEAST 2 weeks ahead - I did a month prior to my boyfriend's birthday!) and decided on a dozen cookies where you can choose 3 -4 designs ($60 but $80 for my order because I received more designs). This wasn't necessarily what I had in mind because I wanted a cookie per life event but I addressed in the form that I am willing to meet in middle, pay more, etc. Lexi personally texted me immediately and then proceeded to set up a phone meeting in which we discussed the idea and themes and she even agreed to up the number of designs if possible while doing research on the decorated images I preferred. The Sugar'd Whisk kept me in loop regarding research and her timeline (Lexi is a very busy lady with customers and that is no surprise!) and texted back and forth about ideas and was very patient to find a way to make me happy. The next step was an email proposal agreement contract and my payment which I made through Zelle. When the day arrived to pick up the cookies from The Sugar'd Whisk; I met Lexi outside her apartment building (She bakes from home which is even more impressive that she can do this outside of a commercial kitchen!) and she was all smiles and super friendly. I was absolutely blown away by the cookies! Perfection is an understatement! Not only were they exactly the images I wanted but the icing work was beautiful and artistically talented! The Sugar'd Whisk is amazing and worth every cent! My boyfriend and I went away for the weekend for his birthday and I set up the cookies for him to wake up to and The Sugar'd Whisk (and me for having the idea) knocked the ball out of the park like Shohei Ohtani! He said this was one of, if not THE, best and most personalized gift he has ever received and he too was amazed by the skill of The Sugar'd Whisk! This is a huge compliment as he is a creative and artist by profession. But that isn't the end of the wonderful experience. We still have to discuss the taste! These cookies are THICK so I was slightly worried they would be either too sweet or too bland and flour-y but no! The Sugar'd Whisk has the perfect recipe of not-to-sweet and not too powdery cookies with a blend of tasting like a sugar cookie and butter cookie. My boyfriend was in love with them and even I, who is Celiac and can't consume gluten, couldn't keep myself from eating some of these delicious cookies! The Sugar'd Whisk is an absolute win in every category: local business, customer service, talented decoration, flavor and price (they are priced lower than some of the competitors while being much more upscale!). I will without a doubt return to The Sugar'd Whisk for my cake and cookie needs and recommend it for anyone and everyone!

The cool thing too was that for the cake pops it could come with edible images, which I did. It is a bit more for it but worth the price. I had asked for the cake to be light, with a strawberry and whipped cream filling (not too sweet since A) my son has never had cake before and B) We are Asian lol) and it was a complete hit! There was literally no leftovers. Minus 1 star only because while I found it convenient to be able to communicate via email, it took quite a while for responses. At one point as the party date was getting closer, I got stressed thinking that I may need to start over in finding a baker to make this custom cake. They are a small family business, however, so I do understand and will likely order from them again but will do so in advance.
