So part of my issue is me and my lack of understanding but also with the business. I was given a…read morequote but failed to get a full understanding of how and what work needed to be done. At the end of the day, I paid $695 for one hours worth of work where someone got on a one story roof and blew shingle particles out of 317 feet of gutter. I would have thought it would be vacuumed. What happened is shingle particles were left everywhere, surrounding the house including patio, patio furniture, wasn't told to close the garage so it was all in my garage, on my vehicles, my neighbor's house, etc. One area needed a small amount of caulking for a leak. No one flushed the downspouts as stated on estimate. I called and they said they would send someone out to do that but at this point, I don't want them back. They are very personable people but I don't think electricians and plumbers even make close to $700 an hour for labor.

I called back and asked if no one has been in my area in the past 2 weeks because she said someone would come out within a week and she said "we schedule by the day so I can't give you an answer on that". We first contacted Boise Roof to get a quote for repairing the perimeter of our roof when a gutter…read moreprofessional pointed out some issues with our current roof. They came out and gave us four different quotes, the first three ranging in how much we wanted to repair ( one section, the whole perimeter and an upgrade to the repair), they also included a complete roof replacement. We appreciated their willingness to give us multiple options and quotes. We quickly learned that the cost to repair the roof wasn't cost effective compared to doing a complete roof replacement. At first I was against working with Boise Roof as I feel like they "pay" for good google reviews. With the first set of quotes we got they had it in the email that if you gave them a 5 star google review then they would give you a 5% discount ( up to $1000). I understand why companies do this, but also feel like it makes it hard to determine if they are as great as the reviews say, due to them "paying" for some of them. All that being said Michael with Boise Roof was amazing to work with and I'd work with him and the company again. He was very patient with us when we asked questions and follow up questions, met with a us a second time to go over the quote again, and gave us resources to research different shingles so we could come to our own decision. We ended up going with him/Boise Roof because we appreciated them answering all of our questions and giving us all the information we needed to make an informed decision. Due to a sale they had going on they were able to get us a 50 year non prorated Malarkey shingle for less than the original quote they had given us. The whole process of tearing off the roof and replacing the roof was as smooth as any home project can go. They showed up when they said they would and were respectful of our property. They picked up after themselves extremely well, we only found two nails on the ground, which I expected more because it's impossible to get them all. The dumpster removal company they used was also respectful and we saw on the cameras that after they picked up the dumpster they swept the drive to gather anything that might have rolled under the dumpster. I can say that they definitely deserve a 5 star review, I would work with them again and will recommend them to anyone.

Because the installer Tomlinson sent to my home was too lazy to use a ladder, he hung over the roof line with a cordless drill and screwed in the gutter hangers bolts in the wrong places, missing the rafters. An ugly job that depreciated the value of my home. Tomlinson approved the damage check to me but it was never mailed or dropped off. I have written proof that they promised to pay me. I spoke with Robert who was supposed to get me the check. He said he would contact Scott even though he no longer works there. Scott never called me and his office employee, Rochelle, won't return my phone calls. I will have to sue him and his company in small claims court. Apparently, Tomlinson has a fake business address of 1855 E Lanark St., Suite 100, Meridian, ID 83642. That's what appears in a Google search. I went there to get my check a couple of weeks ago and was told by the current business that Idaho Custom Rain Gutters hasn't been there in six months. I was told that Tomlinson paid them to use the Meridian address for mailing purposes but is running the business out of his home in Nampa.
