I was so relieved when they were able to fit me in for a same-day morning appointment on a weekday. My massage therapist was Jessica and she is amazing! She provided so much relief. I was getting headaches from all the tension in my neck and shoulder area, but after seeing her I did not get a headache the entire day (and hopefully not for awhile). She skillfully worked on all my crunchy knots. I felt like a new person after just one hour. Jessica is also incredibly friendly and welcoming. She really listened to what I needed during this session and gave me helpful advice on stretches I can do on my own. The studio itself is simple and has three massage therapy rooms. If you want a fancy shmancy, frou frou place, this may not be what you're looking for. But if you're looking for serious massage therapy, I highly recommend coming here! read more

This was my first time coming to Dynamic Touch. I've actually been wanting to come here for a while because the website and reviews looked amazing. I was welcomed by another therapist and she offered me water and gave me paperwork to fill out. Unfortunately I felt disappointed during my massage and after I left. I've had many massages and prenatal massages and didn't leave feeling wowed like how I normally do. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and booked a 90 min prenatal massage. My therapist showed up just 3 mins before my scheduled appointment and she brought me into room #1 before being completely set up. The table was tiny (smaller than a normal sized massage table) and uncomfortable. There was an office door open within the room and I thought that was so weird it was left open. It felt awkward getting undressed. I'm just used to the lights being dimmed, music on prior to getting settled into the room. The massage was ok. I just felt like I was getting the same up and down movement along my spine for the majority of the service. I found myself saying "my shoulders hurt too." Hardly any time was spent on my legs, hips or arms. I wrote in my paperwork that I wanted to focus on my back and hips and verbally said my I.T bands hurt too. I did dooze off but at this point in my pregnancy anyone rubbing me down for 90 mins, anyone would. After getting off the table I felt like my hips still hurt due to the lack of padding on the table. Needless to say, I won't be rebooking. I don't feel my $135 was worth it. I know they can't help with the sound of airplanes taking off every 10 mins, but the Costa Mesa location in my opinion isn't ideal for relaxation. read more

So I was on bed rest for the first 6 months, and already suffered from a bad back.. so I knew as soon as I could, I NEEDED a prenatal massage. I just got my second prenatal massage with Denise. She has such a kind nurturing demeanor. Her prenatal massage is very relaxing but she also gets in there and really works out knots, which can be a little uncomfortable at the time but sooo worth it when you walk out feeling loose as a goose. I'd definitely recommend her, and prenatal massage in general. Such a nice way to take care of yourself while your body is changing to grow your little one! The facility is nice also. Clean with nice decor. Bathroom is right outside their suite and seems well taken care of. The office is in the back of the back bay center so you drive around to the right. Lots of parking. My husband bought me a gift certificate for a prenatal massage with Denise because I have severe hip pain, sciatica pain, lower back pain and sleeping was near impossible. I also was just feeling stressed out and scared about pregnancy but the moment I met Denise she instantly made me feel comforted by taking the time to talk to me about how I was emotionally and physically feeling. I scheduled a prenatal massage after developing severe sciatica at 34 weeks. I was barely able to walk to my appointment, and just the thought of lying down for 90 minutes was terrifying. I was in so much pain when we started the massage. Denise saw that I was struggling and suggested we focus on the area that was causing me the most pain. I originally found Cindi when a lymphatic blockage made my lower left leg swell up like a balloon. Oddly enough that blockage showed up right after I had a lung biopsy. The biopsy proved cancerous and Cindi's weekly massage got my lymphatic system ready to handle my upcoming lobectomy, which went very smoothly. Once I recovered from chemo and radiation, I came back to Cindi to get a weekly maintenance massage. It's been great and she's helped me deal with every physical issue that has occurred. Wow, I had to write a review because I've never had a massage experience like the one I had with Kathy. Kathy is very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was a first time client so, after being greeted, I was asked to fill out a questionnaire about my health and problem areas. She then went through it with me to get a better understanding of my needs (I was there for a prenatal massage). After that I was asked to do a few simple movements and stretches while she assesed my flexibility and what areas were bothering me. And then we got on with a GLORIOUS massage. For the prenatal, i was massaged while lying on my back first, propped up by a pillow, and then I was asked to flip onto my right side while holding on to a body pillow, then my left side. I felt very comfortable and she was able to get to my whole body. Perfect pressure, perfect amount of talking and checking up to see how I was feeling. She is a true therapist so this is not one of those useless rub downs amidst candles and flowers. She really gets to those knots and gives helpful advice on the little changes you can make to alleviate your pains. I would highly highly recommend Kathy's prenatal massages. I believe they're $80 for 60 minutes, and you get the full 60 minutes. This is a no frills office with no receptionist or lobby (there's a hallway with chairs where you can sit & wait) so don't expect great ambiance. I've been here only on weekends and it's always been quiet and peaceful. read more

I was recommended by my Physical Therapist to get a massage from the owner of Dynamic Touch. I tried booking an appointment with the owner but the person on the phone was very awkward about the scheduling. After putting me on hold a few times (which I thought was a little strange) she finally confessed a few minutes later that the owner was going to be out of town on vacation, which was why she was trying to book me out two weeks in advance. I ended up booking with someone else. The evening of my appointment at my Physical Therapy office in Laguna Niguel the masseuse (I forgot her name, it was several months ago) was with another client. I had to wait for her to finish with the other client. She seemed friendly, but my massage started late as I had to wait for her to take a bathroom break and prep the room for me. I handed her my paperwork that I previously filled out at home and she began filing her nails, telling me to let her know if she scratches me during the massage (um, OK, can we say "weird?") The massage began more than 15 minutes late. She asked me about any areas of discomfort and I started telling her about my problem areas. She then proceeded to "diagnose" me with a syndrome that she has that affects nerves and tendons. She talked my ear off, talking non-stop during the ENTIRE MASSAGE! I felt obligated to respond back when she would ask me questions. I just wanted to relax and it was SO annoying listen to her ramble on and on. I know all about her two kids, her husband, this weird muscle/tendon syndrome that she has and she thinks that I have, etc. She also told me that she teaches massage technique because she's been doing massages so long. It wasn't a terrible massage, but I've honestly had better. To make matters worse, I was cold the entire time. The room was very basic and minimal with a small desk and the table, and that's it. No extra blankets around. I couldn't wait for the massage to be over with so that I could throw my clothes back on and warm up. Additionally, I thought is was very rude that this complete stranger was talking my ear off like she was one of my girlfriends that I've known forever. The massage was over and I went to pay. The masseuse went on to tell me that the owner hadn't set up the payment option on her iPad yet so I wasn't able to pay using a credit card. This put me in a very awkward position. I told her that had I would have known I would have stopped by an ATM, because I didn't have enough cash on me. She told me that she would have someone contact me to collect the payment. This was just totally freggin weird and unprofessional. I thanked her and left. The next day I called Massage Dynamic and who ever answered the phone was weird, like she took her job of answering the phone WAY too seriously (she sounded like an older, stuffy lady that talked kinda loud - like she liked to listen to herself talk, telling me to spell out both my first and last name for her, my phone number "with area code first please" etc.) Of course I didn't want to explain the whole situation to her so I told just to have the owner call me back. (because I wanted to give them my payment!) Even though I tipped the masseuse $10 (which I shouldn't have, but I did to be polite) I didn't feel comfortable walking out of there and not paying. Also, she should have told me to bring a check or something. I thought it was a lousy excuse that she couldn't except payment with a credit card, who carries $70+ dollars cash on them? A couple of days later the owner approached me during my physical therapy appointment at Rausch PT. I was on the table doing my exercises. She asked me how I liked the massage. I didn't want to blast her employee right then and there, so I was pretty vague. I said "it was nice, um...she thinks I have a muscular neuro disease, the same disease that she has, she gave me ALL the information on it, it was A LOT of information." I figured that this was a "hint hint" way of saying "she talked my freaking ear off!". I still didn't pay for the massage yet so I asked the owner if I could pay her then and there and she said "yes". So in the middle of doing my physical therapy exercises I had to stop, get off the table and go dig out my credit card from my purse. I was glad to pay and be done with these people (who files their nails and keeps the client waiting right before a massage?) Despite all of the wonderful reviews about this place, obviously I won't be returning. read more

My back has been killing me for quite some time and I finally made the decision to seek a massage therapist. The many great reviews led me to Denise and she is absolutely fantastic! She makes me feel very comfortable and relaxed. She has firm hands while at the same time knowing when to be light. I frequently get massages and I can tell Kathy is without a doubt an expert therapist and the best I've experienced the past year. She's very personable and friendly and checks in with you every few minutes or so to make sure you're receiving what you want during the session. I really didn't have to comment much as her methods were pretty perfect and just enough pressure on all my trouble spots. Today was my first time getting a massage with Kathy and I loved it! I have headaches almost everyday, so she focused on my neck and back. In my 30 minute session, my headache was relieved which is great. The setting of the room is relaxing. The window provides a view of a small private garden, which had blinds which you can shut if you prefer. Massages can be awkward sometimes, but Kathy made sure I was comfortable. My session ended with her showing me some excersies I can do to stretch my neck and back. And she even gave me some tips for my headaches. That was a plus. Thanks Kathy! I was searching everywhere for prenatal massage.... I waited until my third trimester to get one so I thought I should see someone who knew what they were doing! I found Dynamic Touch through Yelp and I'm so glad I did! I've seen Patty twice now and I book with her every 2.5-3 weeks because when you're 35 weeks pregnant it's feels good to get a great massage! I'm bummed I didn't find her sooner. She has a special bed that props your back up so its more comfortable and uses a bolster under the knees. She moves you to your side and even has pillows for in between your legs! I've always heard that pregnancy massages are weak and they can't really do deep tissue but Patty actually gets my knots out and it really helps! Dynamic touch is in a building next to big Ralphs on 17th. St. I would highly recommend Seeing Patty, Pregnant or not. Just know there's only a couple rooms in this place. It is not a spa. read more

I'm an athlete who also deals with CFS/Fibromyaligia symptoms, so sports massage is essential to not only my well-being, but to my ability to be active at all. Katcha is smart, knowledgeable, and very intuitive when it comes to alleviating the aches and pains that come with CFS/Fibromyalgia symptoms. I strongly feel that my work with her has relieved much of my soft tissue/muscular pain and has allowed me to continue to remain active, even on my "bad" days. This review is for Katcha. I am a competitive open water swimmer and I have been getting massages here for about 6 months. I had tricep pain that I thought may be an injury and Katcha worked it out with deep tissue and ART (active resistance technique). For any athletes out there, I would highly recommend the ART add-on to massages if you have any spots that are in pain. Unlike other deep tissue massages I have gotten, Katcha doesn't just push into the knots and make you hurt, she works around the tightness and you don't notice how effective it is until later when you are sore. :) No pain at all during the massage. She also educates you on how to stay loose and maintain flexibility. The most important thing for me is that she understands athletes. She had my boyfriend come in and she trained him how to do ART on me in between my sessions. I referred my swimming partner here and he loves her! He comes in every other weekend while he trains to swim Catalina. Great place! read more
