First off, everyone greeted me as I walked through the door, every station was clean, vibes were right, and music was great. Moments later, Manny introduced himself, got me setup in his chair, asked what I wanted, and got to work. The professionalism, cancer, and warm demeanor of not only Manny, but everyone in that shop, is part of the reason I keep coming back after a little over 3 years of fierce loyalty. Other reason I keep regularly scheduling cuts with Manny is because he's the genuine article and a savant with clippers. Plus, the guy is easy to talk to. When I asked if walk-ins were accepted, I was told if I could return the following day and was simply turned away with a "sorry." I needed the service that day otherwise, I would have waited and gone to my regular barbershop. I chose this place based on proximity and Yelp ratings, but there was no real flexibility when it came to walk-ins. As a local resident, I decided to try a new shop closer to home. By 3 PM, all three barbers were already booked. While it's great for the business to be fully scheduled suggesting they must provide excellent cuts it was disappointing to be turned away at the time I arrived. Wishing them well in the future.

I showed up and saw just PJ sitting waiting and I could tell he was a little annoyed that I was late at first so the vibes were interesting, but once I apologize and starting forcing conversation, he warmed up and we had some great conversations. He also spent a lot of time and attention to detail on my hair and I got exactly what I wanted which I appreciated. It is definitely on the higher-end price point-wise, but if you're looking for an extremely fresh looking cut, I would come back here for sure!

The service was wonderful - the staff were polite and attentive, the shop was clean and well run, place in general had a good feeling about it - I was met by my stylist quickly both times. This place does a decent haircut to be sure, I felt like the cut and fade I got was perfectly serviceable - however the second time around my beard was absolutely butchered. Despite clear instructions on length and style, somehow I ended up with a #1 trimmer cut across the whole length. I think I was partially in shock when finished; had to come home and try to salvage some kind of shape and then let the regrowth process begin. Good thing I grow a beard quickly, but this will be the very last time I come here and probably the last time I let any stylist near my beard without first having seen a portfolio of their beard-specific trims and agreeing on a style first. Truly wanted to like this place and make it my regular spot - it has a vibe very similar to Bishops up in Portland, OR but I just can't recommend based on the spotty experience I've had. If you just need a haircut - they do a decent enough job. Just don't let them anywhere near your beard!

In all my times of walking through second street, I walked by this place many times and finally thought it time for me to go in for a tryout. I decided to schedule an appointment for a beard trim, and got linked up with Tatianna(sp?). It was a busy day at the barber sharp. All six seats were in use, which i had never seen before, but it was a delight and a good sign of things to come. Tatianna took me on time and checked out a photo on how i wanted my beard to look. She used some very technical skills and lined up my hair with my beard. It was already an impressive outlook and the process just got started. Tatianna was light with the use of her clippers and tools, making me look pretty damn good. All the elements of a shave took place during my appointment and the results were excellent.
