Shoes and bags of all types.

If you play disc golf or you are interested in disc golf, this is your place to get what you need. *disclaimer* I am a very passionate disc golfer and promoter of the sport. I do know the members of Dynamic Discs and their passion since we all love our sport. I am from Austin and made it a journey to come here while in town. I should hope that my detailed review doesn't sway you away from it's honesty. I could rave about the great things Dynamic Discs (DD) is doing for the great sport of disc golf, but I won't since this review is not an article and over time I will let you learn that on your own. The DD store is a great stop to literally get everything you need to play. Discs, bags, shirts, shoes, koozies, and bumper stickers.... you could walk in the average person, get what you need in the store, and walk out looking like a true Pro while never have thrown your first disc. The DD staff are their sport and live their sport. If you have any questions about what products to choose (shirt, bag, disc, etc.), they will ask you questions for insight, and direct you to what you should need. If you have any questions about discs and items that are not from DD brand, then they will be honest and tell you about them as well. They are just that good. Their passion is disc golf, but they are more passionate about getting you to go out and play. If you are interested in disc golf or know someone who is, this is the place to come. Bring your kids, throw some discs, buy some gear, or heck.... make someones day special and buy them ANYTHING from the Dynamic Discs store (gifts from DD are always great). Get out and experience the passionate fun of disc golf like everyone else, see what you have been missing, and get what you have been missing by shopping at Dynamic Discs.

This course makes good use of The limited elevation that they have. The challenge of the course comes in if you play it straight up (on/in and beyond creeks and sidewalks is o.b.). All in all it's a good place to get in a quick round.

Often a red tailed hawk to be seen, and always egrets and herons. You can get in a lot of miles if you want to, and there are several different ways to do it - different forks in the path and lots of ways to vary it up on different days. Walker and biker friendly (although 100% paved). Bikers, please be courteous and alert walkers when you're coming up behind them ("On your left" is standard). Our family has done some of these trails too many times to count. Some people have pointed out that it's flat. It is mostly flat, unless you head towards the big hill next to the frisbee golf portion of the trail. But it's still an excellent network of trails that covers a LOT of territory. You could take the trails far enough north that you head to West Plano, I think. And they keep expanding south as well. I really have to credit Carrollton with doing a great job with these trails over the years. (We lived in Carrollton for 9 years and I miss being walking distance to the greenbelt.) Last note - I'm not a frisbee golfer. We've solely used the trails, not the disc golf course. (Some people have only focused on the disc course, whereas the entire greenbelt has MUCH more than that - as previously mentioned.)

Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

As an avid dog and animal lover as well as a professional dog walker/pet sitter I can tell you that…read moreYelp got it wrong on this jewel of a Plano Park (i.e. it is way more than just a disc golf course). First off, we should discuss location, location, location! I am a 75074 based pet sitter and this park is very close to my home base. The Plano Parks & Recreation lists the following address for Shawnee Park: 3380 Sherwood Drive, Plano, Tx 75074. So I don't where the info disconnect on whether it is a 75023 or a 75074 park but I do know it is a great community park. This neighborhood park has it all, including the following: disc golf course, hike bike and dog walking trails, playground, sports practice fields (first come, first served), restrooms, grills, picnic tables, sand volley ball court, and a small lake with a fishing pier. The pavilion holds a maximum of 50 people (no limit on the number of dogs and pets that I am aware of) and can be your rental as follows: resident rental rate $50, non-resident rental rate $100, $75 deposit requirement and other fees may apply. Amusements/sound allowed. This is a excellent park for walking, playing and exercising your fur babies. If you and your dog/dogs haven't had a chance to spend any time together then you need to correct that over-sight real soon.

There were about three other groups spread across the 18 baskets, so no crowd issues to deal with. The course appears to have been laid out originally as 9 holes, and then they added 9 more pretty much on top of the original 9 (you end up making a circular circuit twice). It's a little confusing at first figuring out which basket you are targeting, and where the next tee-off pad is, but everything is pretty well marked (although we never did find the basket for #17). For the most part, the holes are pretty wide open. Several are straight approaches across open field. A few do take you a little ways into the woods though. I'd call this an intermediate course, but a beginner would find it fun as its not too technical. The only advanced part is a couple of the distances and some curve approaches. There are a couple of ravines to watch out for, otherwise, pretty minimal chance of losing your disc as the trees and shrubbery aren't real thick. I'll definitely play this one again.

Easy to get to especially if you're on the Dallas side of the metroplex. - Holes are wide open with minimal obstacles. I imagine the only way you'll lose a disc is if you throw it in the street or maybe deep enough into the trees. The walk is also pretty easy. - Clean and well taken care of. Everyone is respectful and considerate of their game pace as well as their location on the hole. Mind your manners and yell fore. :) Cons - I personally hate the level of traffic on the course. Most people are fine with it, but I like being able to take my time and not feel rushed. (Not that any one has ever made us feel that way, it's just my own personal anxiety peeking through!) - I didn't necessarily get the best read on where all the holes were and how they were set up. If we didn't end up tagging along with a fella that was familiar with the course, I don't know if we would have found all of the holes. It was just a little confusing for me. We will for sure be back at some point, but I'd probably choose from another one of my favorites.
