I have not had a favorite bar in years! But then came along Dynaco, a very sweetly decorated, cozy neighborhood bar with friendly bartenders with mad cocktailing skills. I usually give them a flavor, like ginger, and Ryan, Sean, and Evan have all crafted fantastically balanced craft cocktails. Dynaco has a seated area at the back with a wood-burning stove that was perfect spot for my birthday party! So many of my guests commented on Dynaco's handsome ambience, and Ryan kindly followed my request to make my drinks light so I would not stumble out at the end of the night. It's a fantastic addition to the neighborhood and well worth my 15 minute walk there. read more

Absolutely love the establishment. It is a gem for the neighborhood, and while being new it feels like it could have been here for years. The atmosphere is relaxed and has a local vibe. We had great cocktails and an awesome bartender who actually obliged me when I asked for him to surprise me with something not sweet with bourbon. This is generally a no no in most busy establishments but he was happy to accommodate as he could tell I wanted to try something new. The result was fabulous, we meant to stay for only an hour and ended up meeting so many of our neighbors and enjoying the place so much that the next thing we knew it was 4 hours later. Cozy as hell, down-to-earth speakeasy in a world where such a place is overly twee. Don't blink when you walk by or you will miss it. In the summer there is a single tea light in the fireplace and all the winter's wood piled under the benches. I'm looking forward to going back in the winter. read more

Hands down my favorite neighborhood bar in the Fall and winter months. Warm fireplace, great drinks, kind bartenders (especially Steve) and a childhood throwback for snacks -- Goldfish and cake. I love th Vinho Verde, my husband goes for the martinis. Highly recommend. Ps: cash only. read more

I live nearby and would drop in more often if it wasn't on the pricey side. They have a selection of several tasty beers on tap but they are a dollar or two overpriced. I like this bar. So happy it's been added to the 'hood. I was a little turned off by one of the bartenders snooty 'tudes but the other bartenders have been nothing but a delight. Delicious drinks...had a whiskey gimlet for the first time and now I'm hooked. I love the decoration...the speaker partition into the back room is the first thing I tell all my friends about when I take them here. I really want to try the chocolate cake. Drinking and cake? Dynaco is a pretty amazing bar in my neighborhood. I like the whole speakeasy feel it has and how the first time I ventured over my only markers as to where it was, was its proximity to Do or Dine. Though they have somewhat of a sign if you really search for it. The bar itself is really nice, very warm on a cold winter day and every time I've been there is has been packed. The decor is rustic and the lighting is very dark, darker than a majority of bars I've been to, but that's fine. Again it goes with the whole rustic, has a fire place, speak easy thing it has going on. Did I mention fire place? Basically you can drink by a fire place in the winter, here. That says magic to me. The drinks are reasonably priced and you can order pie. The only con for me is that it's cash only. read more

This bar is a hidden gem in Brooklyn. It's nothing flashy and doesn't have a big neon sign, so you have to keep an eye out for it but it's worth the look. The bartender was nice and attentive even though the bar was packed. They have seating at the bar and probably 6 or 7 tables around the room. The back room has a fireplace which was beautiful. I consider the seats around the fireplace to be among the top bar seats in Brooklyn, which probably put them in the running for best worldwide, particularly in the colder half of the year. The smell of fresh cut wood might be my favorite attribute of Dynaco, though the excellent cocktails and solid beer list keep me coming back. read more

I was contemplating whether to review this one as it seems to me that it's still a relatively well-kept secret and who'd want to be responsible for changing that?! I only recently moved to BedSty and found this place completely by accident - it's so well hidden it almost seems like a speakeasy. Well, this will be my local speakeasy now, not only because it's right around the corner, but because I'll be hard pressed to find a better friendly local neighbourhood bar. I wanted to like this place because it's near to where I work and I do love to support my local whatever. We came in on a Thursday night and ordered one prosecco and one beer totaling at 17 dollars. My boyfriend and I came to Brooklyn to celebrate our anniversary and this is our favorite bar. The fireplace is perfect for the cold weather and the drinks are at a reasonable price. Not to mention the beers are awesome. We came on a thursday night and had to come back again friday. It is not super packed and we had no problem finding a place to sit. The bartenders are very friendly and the wooden look is very cozy. I would say this place is great for a casual gathering. Its also open until late so it would be a great spot after a crazy night. I recommend going to the deli right across the street for some chop cheese after. read more

The ambiance and music was great, it was the perfect place for me to bring some of my cousins, sister and best friends for a mellow farewell party before I move out to California for a new job. That was until the moody bar-back suddenly got extremely rude with us and argued about someone in our party ordering a beer and not immediately paying for it. Mind you, we were there for a while paying for drinks the whole time and were sitting right next to the bar and were planning to pay for the one beer before we left. It would have been fine if he politely reminded us we owe $6 but the manner in which he accused and reprimanded us was extremely unpleasant, he even threatened to kick us out. We knew he was just having a bad day and our group just stay put and ignored his hipster bitchiness. His more professional colleague even had to calm him down. I really wish my last night in NYC didn't have to involve this fool and now I'm left wondering why we were treated this way. My family owns several businesses down the street and we will make sure to never recommend this bar to anyone. Really sorry this had to happen. Someone has to teach this guy about hospitality. read more

Very good bar. Friendly staff; cozy environment; good drinks. My only gripe (and why I didn't give it five stars) is that it's extremely loud on Friday/Saturday nights. Not sure why they blast the music on weekends, given the neighborhood-y, laid back vibe of the place, but if that's your jam, go for it. Otherwise, I'd recommend checking this place out on weeknights. read more
