He is a very warm and very personable guy, who knows everyone who knows just about everyone in the Bay Area (test him - I haven't stumped him yet). He also knows how to get to any place in the Bay Area, and knows every quick route to and from OAK and SFO at any time of the day and night. If I send him a text message 18 hours before I need a ride, he gets back to me promptly, and is ALWAYS on time. His rates aren't cheap (like BART or Supershuttle), but they are highly competitive; and in any case, getting superior service almost any time you want is always worth a few more bucks. [And just to clear the air, YES I am his brother; but if he did a crappy job, I wouldn't take the time to give him a good review, and I wouldn't use his service about once per month. Marcus is the man. Was picking up a friend at the Oakland Airport and called Marcus after reading the Yelp reviews. He was prompt and gracious, was quiet when my friend and I were talking, but was happy to join in to answer questions and give advice about things to enjoy in the Bay Area. He gave some great recommendations and kept us entertained during some traffic delays. I called him up five days later to see if he could get us back to the airport at 4:30am so my friend could return home. When I started to give him the pickup location in San Francisco he said he remembered exactly where he'd dropped us off, and started asking me how my friend's visit went. He texted me ten minutes before picking us up to let us know he was on the way. Arrived exactly when he said he would, and was brighter and cheerier than either of us. He remembered our entire conversation from five days earlier, and we had a great conversation about my friend's trip. It didn't feel like I was calling a car service for transportation. Put this 5 star in perspective -- in comparison to Super Shuttle or a taxi, Marcus is a DREAM COME TRUE. I needed to get to SFO for a 5:44a flight, and Marcus happily picked me up at 3:45a (promptly!), texted to let me know he was on the way, and got me there in one piece. We just used Dyer twice in one day for our wedding, and I gotta say, they were excellent. We used a towncar for the first leg, from the ceremony to the reception. The driver was there right on time, had no problem with the bridesmaids decorating the car with "Just Married" on the back window, and was very patient with the extra wait time when pictures took longer than expected. The towncar itself was in above average condition, not dirty, but not brand new or posh either. The driver was also very patient when we got stopped in traffic on the way, and helped keep our ride very pleasant. We got a stretch limo for the second leg from the reception to the hotel. We had to wait 20 minutes or so after the scheduled pick-up time, but the awesomeness of the limo more than made up for that. The limo was awesome--immaculate, with awesome lights throughout the limo, on the bar, and had cool lights that looked like stars on the ceiling. One of our bags got crushed in transit smashing our crystal champagne flutes, leading us to believe that our suitcases were dropped on top. I probably wasn't thinking clearly and should have mentioned that those were fragile bags or kept them with me, so I'll accept part of the responsibility for that one. The driver was awesome, leaving us alone to enjoy our post-wedding euphoria, and was somehow able to navigate the narrow streets of San Francisco to get us to our destination easily (a feat unto itself). I had to make last minute arrangements from my flight from NY to Oakland. After calling around the night before and some crook (other limo driver) tried to charge me $85 to drive me from Oakland to Fremont which I was initially fine with. But after emailing him and confirming the flight info, the crook (other limo driver) tried to tell me it was an extra $10 if I had bags or luggage. Really? You're pickin me up from the airport dude? I cancelled that appointment. I went on Yelp and found Dyer Limousine servcies and spoke to Marcus. I was kind of desperate because I was calling him around 11 pm at night and was asking him to pick me up the next day at 11:15 pm. He was really friendly and asked me to text him flight info and he will be there. Next evening, my flight was late. It didn't get there till a quarter till midnight. Marcus was there. He showed up, put my luggage in the trunk, opened the door and asked me if I wanted a bottled water. He was really nice and friendly.
