Booked Franklin shuttle for a last minute trip to Napa. This service is great! The driver was early, super nice, and was okay with waiting for the rest of our party to get there. During our 8 hour block, we were able to visit 3 wineries (which for our group, was more than enough wine!). The shuttle is pretty massive (fits about 14-15 people) and had more than enough space for our 10 person group. For 8 people, it was a base price of $400, and then $25 for each additional passenger. Decent deal for an 8 hour trip to Napa valley. Also, possibly some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. I happened to leave my sunglasses in the shuttle. The owner of the company has been really good about contacting me to determine when he could drop them off wherever I am! I am SO embarrassed that I booked Franklin Shuttle service for my employees taking a work trip to San Francisco. I was MORTIFIED to hear the stories of bad (dangerous) driving and completely inappropriate treatment of the passengers including being very grabby towards a female passenger. Completely unacceptable. It wasn't the best on the booking end either, but I honestly thought it was just a language barrier. He didn't know the difference between and invoice and a receipt... A flight was delayed, so I called at 4:30 PM (4 hours before our scheduled 8:30 PM pick up time) to ask if he could move the pick up time to 9:30 PM. He aggressively argued with me that I would have to pay his driver for an extra hour, since he was already at the airport (again, this is 4 hours early) so we agreed to an up-charge to pay the driver. While in San Francisco my family used their services 3 times- airport to hotel, hotel to cruise terminal, and cruise terminal to airport. He gave me a great rate for all 3 times. I have 2 parents in a wheelchair and his shuttles were comfortable and easy for them to get in and out of. There was plenty of room for all of our luggage, 6 people, plus a walker and 2 foldable wheelchairs. The shuttle arrived on time and usually a few minutes early for each of our trips. I feel compelled to write a review based on my experience with Franklin Shuttle, because I would feel terrible if something happened to others and I never said anything. We used Franklin Shuttle to pick us up in SF and take us wine tasting in Healdsburg and the surrounding area for the day. Our driver drove us off the freeway on our return trip to San Francisco, endangering everyone in the van (10 passengers) and the cars we nearly hit as we drove down the wrong side of the road. We went flying off of an exit ramp at nearly 65 mph, and proceeded to drive into oncoming traffic until the van finally stopped in a ditch. We slowly drove to the nearest gas station and made sure everyone was ok. The driver anxiously asked us not to tell his boss and was visibly nervous when we took photos to document the damage to the van and any injuries/damages (sore necks, a bruised throat from smashing into the seat in front, shattered sunglasses, etc). We were only offered a full refund after I explained to Franklin that two passengers were going to the doctor if their soreness persisted. And he was not happy to fully refund me (!). Unfortunately, the entire day prior to that was great. But the return trip left everyone with bad memories and aches and pains, thankfully nothing more serious. I would rather have paid a little more money and had a professional driver and credible service. If we wanted a ride that like, one of us could have driven home after all the wine! read more

I had to write a review because a lot of the other reviews were very misleading (which was disappointing). There seems to be other folks who had a starkly different (aka terrible) experience, and unfortunately, that was the case with me. First, I called Franklin Shuttle to provide a quote. He was very rude, rushed me off the phone and told me to send him an email. Before I hung up, I asked if he matched quotes from other shuttle services and he replied yes. Annoyed, but gave him the benefit of doubt (maybe he was busy?) and wrote him an email inquiring about a quote. I had already checked out the prices on his website but figured it would be safe to get a firm quote for a wedding. He quoted me $600 per shuttle for 8 hours (not including tip, tax or gas). This is $75+/hour which is more than what's listed on his website. So I inquired about the price matching we had discussed earlier, to which he declined and was quick to tell me to book other vendors. Again, giving the benefit of doubt -- it's his business and he can price his services as he sees fit. However, as a consumer, I advise you, there are lots of other options in the area within the area that offer competitive prices and better customer service. read more

The website quotes $40 as the charter fare from downtown San Francisco to SFO airport. I called them to get a fare quote and the man said $70! When I told him what I saw on the website, he said the cheapest he could give me was $50. I asked him if the information on the website was inaccurate. He said yes, it is inaccurate. I do not trust a business that puts inaccurate pricing on its website and whose prices change whimsically. read more

We used Franklin shuttle for a Napa wine tour and it was perfect. I had to organize a group (including a couple bday divas) that had a floating head count. None of which felt like forking over a boat load of cash for a limo. I called Frank and setup a roundtrip between SF and Napa. We got 8hrs including bridge fees for $400! (+tip) Our driver Calvin rolled up in the big blue party bus 5 minutes early and was super mellow. Just like a limo we were able to eat and drink and there was a ton of space for all 8 of us. (I think the van holds up to 15) We might not have been in the super ritzy stretch limo but we got way more looks in that shuttle than anyone else and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. If you're in SF and want to do a wine tasting in Napa or Sonoma call Frank. We'll never use anyone else again. read more

I used Frank's service for a company wine tour I was planning up in Napa. I was super nervous and budget conscious while trying to please all the higher ups on the trip. Frank quoted me a price at far less than anyone else on yelp, and was all inclusive, so no nickel and diming at the end. Frank even appeased my nervousness by emailing me pictures of the inside of the bus I asked for so I could make sure it would work. Frank showed up early, right where I asked him to, and drove us around safely and on time the entire day. He did such as awesome job, I'll absolutely go back to him for any future needs. These guys were awesome. Not only on-time, but a few minutes early, and happy to wait. And they really went above and beyond: shortly after we all boarded the van and took off toward SFO, a member of our party realized they'd left their passport at the house. So they drove us back to the house (then only a block away, thankfully), and we grabbed it. They were also on time for pickup. Drivers were courteous, spoke fairly good English, helped load our stuff, and above all, were tolerant of our idiocy. Needless to say, a very good tip was in order! We used Franklin shuttle to transport eight of us from the East Bay Walnut Creek area to SFO when the Bay Bridge was closed. The huge black Mercedes Van was very nice and super spacious. I think that van could easily hold 15 full sized adults with plenty of room for luggage. His rates are more than fair and he got us there with plenty of time to spare. He also does Napa trips. I used Franklin Shuttle for a group ride from Oakland to Santa Clara for the opening game at the new Levi's Stadium. There were 14 of us that fit comfortably in his Mercedes Party Bus. Frank was very easy to book with and it was a smooth ride to and from the game. The traffic was awful and we ended up changing our plans to park away from the stadium rather than the stadium parking lot, which Frank helped us figure out. Plenty of room for tailgating gear in the back as well. I would definitely use Franking Shuttle again and would recommend his service to anyone interested in a similar tailgating service. read more

Rude driver with dangerous driving habits, and zero respect for personal space or belongings. Used this shuttle twice while in San Francisco on a business trip, both times I left feeling upset. First trip the driver was rude to a fellow coworker of mine, and even though I told him multiple times I could get out of a van on my own, the driver still insistent of grabbing me by the arms, waist, and hand to "help" me out. Second trip, while continuing to be rude to my fellow party the driver grabbed me by the arm, as I passed by the back of the bus. This startled me, and as I was mentioning to him my dislike for being physically grabbed by strangers he took my bag (which happened to have my laptop in it) and harshly threw it into the back where it hit with a bit of a thud and began spilling contents of my bag into the open cab. When I tried to exclaim my protest he seemed to imply it my fault for giving him the bag in the first place. Not to mention the multiple driving violations on the way back to the airport which included long horn bursts, driving the wrong way down a cable car street, and highly aggressive maneuvering which resulted in us scaring the tar out of pedestrians and the like who all understandable began flipping the van off. In short, I would not recommend this shuttle service, especially not to anyone with an X chromosome. read more

Our wedding venue didn't offer on-site parking for guests, so we decided to hire a shuttle service to take our loved ones to and from the celebrations. We decided to hire Frank because he was knowledgeable about our venue and the tricky, steep road leading up to it, and his prices seemed on par with other companies in the area. Pros: - Frank usually does a three-shuttle minimum, but agreed to let us do two shuttles given our smaller wedding - In terms of picking up guests on time (according to the schedule we had worked out beforehand) and getting everyone to the venue safely, Frank and his colleague were excellent--arguably this is the most important thing when looking for a shuttle service! - I didn't hear much about the shuttle experience from guests, save for the fact that my father-in-law really enjoyed chatting with some of our college friends on the ride up, so assume that guests had a positive riding experience - Payment was easy and straight-forward, as Frank accepts both check and credit card - Frank's colleague was super sweet and unobtrusive whenever he came to pick people up, and wished us well on our marriage Cons: - Frank includes a flat 20% gratuity fee upfront, which isn't too uncommon but not something I'm a big fan of - Once the contract was signed, I felt that Frank was very rushed and dismissive of my concerns anytime we communicated via phone. For instance, I wanted to make sure that a shuttle would be able to pick up a guest who needed to leave the reception at 6:30pm, and Frank kept saying "No problem, yes yes, I got you..." before I could really finish explaining. He also seemed annoyed when I asked to confirm that the next shuttle would come at 8:30pm, always saying he had it under control. I assumed this was just his working style, and that he would ask for clarification if he needed it, but it didn't make me feel confident that he indeed "got" me. Which leads me to the next point.... - On the wedding day, Frank never arrived at the venue to pick up the guest who needed to leave our wedding at 6:30pm. I didn't find this out until later, but she ended up needing to call a cab. Though she says she didn't mind, I felt really bad because she waited in the rain for a shuttle that never came, despite Frank seemingly having it under control - At 8:30pm, the shuttle never came, either. When my mother called Frank to find out where he was, he said he needed to confirm that 10 guests were ready to leave before he would make the trip down. This was never mentioned to us in advance when we paid for 6 hours of service, so I was pretty annoyed. Most guests were planning to stay much later, but the handful of people that needed the 8:30 shuttle were relying on it to get home to their young kids or catch a flight. (We eventually did get Frank to come up, but it was close to 9 by the time he was finally there--unnecessary delay and stress.) - Every time Frank came to pick people up, he would make his presence known and ask the DJ to make an announcement about the shuttle being there. This felt very unnecessary and disruptive to the party atmosphere, as people who were ready to leave were already on the lookout for him and ready to go, and other people just wanted to boogey! Bottom line: Reliable, safe wedding shuttle service for all the basics, but communication and pick-up style leave something to be desired. This would probably be a 4- or 5- star review if Frank had had a little more "chill" during pickup (though his colleague gets an A!)--but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he is just a sterner guy who wants to make sure no one gets left behind. Still, I can't give him a total vote of confidence since he was not accommodating of the two venue pick-up times that we had discussed in advance. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably still hire Frank and approach my communication plan differently (or arrange an Uber or Lyft for the guests that needed to leave early, as a back-up plan). read more

A group of 11 professionals and I were going to be traveling to San Francisco for a conference and needed round trip transportation from SFO to our hotel. I checked with a lot of limo services, shuttles, and even the BART to determine the most cost effective mode of transportation for the group. We were on a strict budget and if I couldn't find something cheap, we would have to haul our luggage on the BART down to our hotel in Union Square :( Frank provided the best round trip price by far! When we arrived at SFO, I called him and he was there promptly to meet our group in an extremely clean Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van. He narrated the drive to our hotel and made us all feel welcome to SF. On the return trip, Frank was there ahead of the arranged time (4:00 AM!!). He assisted us in loading our baggage and delivered us to the airport in record time. He was courteous, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely recommend Franklin Shuttle to anyone who needs to arrange transportation for a group. Both pickups were seamless without even one small hiccup. I have had shuttles from airport to hotel in many other cities with this group and this experience was by far the easiest to work with. We used Franklin Shuttle to transport our guests to our hilltop Berkeley wedding. He has experience with the route and with what size shuttle we would need, so we went with him. Our guests mentioned that they were a little apprehensive as he was zooming up the hill to our venue, and he can be very abrupt when he's picking up and dropping off guests, but he gets the job done efficiently and I did not have to worry about the shuttles throughout the wedding day. He is a bit pricey and I'm sure his quotes are subjective, but his experience with our venue was valuable and well-worth it. I was looking for shuttle transportation from my wedding venue to the hotel and found Franklin Shuttle on Yelp. Frank was quick to respond when I asked for a quote, which was very reasonable compared to some bigger companies like Bauer. He worked with me before the wedding to create a shuttle schedule and was very helpful. On the day of the wedding, Frank showed up right on time at the hotel to take the first round of guests to the wedding venue. I didn't get to meet Frank until the end of the night, but my guests said he was very nice. He even went into the hotel to make sure he got all the guests. At the end of the night he drove guests from the venue back to the hotel. He even made an extra trip at the end of the night because there were still guests that needed a ride. I found frank on yelp. He picked us up on time with a Mercedes Benz shuttle. I brought our 2 kids and he was very nice to bring 2 car seats for them without any additional charge. Some companies charge extra or don't bring any car seats at all. He was very friendly and helped us with our heavy luggages. The van was spacious and clean and could fit 10 people easily. We had a group on two flights to San Francisco. One flight was delayed, so I tried to call and see if we could get an earlier pickup for half of the group. What a disastrous call. We had 21 people in our group, but only 9 had arrived. I tried to explain this to the person on the phone, but they became angry with me and said they would only pick up 21. I explained there were only 9 of us, and that if we couldn't get an earlier pickup that would be OK, we'd just do something else and the rest of the group would take the shuttle as planned. The person on the phone was angry and said "ok, maybe 13, I can take 13", as if this was a negotiation of some sort. I explained again, that only part of the group was available. The person on the phone told me "hey, hey, I know, I know its 21 people, don't tell me". (There was a language barrier that wasn't helping, but the attitude was very poor). At this point, I told them I didn't know what their problem was, but that we'd be doing something else. Our HR coordinator then intervened and smoothed things over. We got a ride with Franklin shuttle and had a reasonable, courteous driver after all. Because (this) ride was OK, I give this 2 stars. Fast forward to pick up day and going back to the airport - Sure enough, the angry person on the phone was our driver this time, I recognized his voice and his crappy attitude. He was rude to us in his demeanor, and grabby with our female employees. He was "that guy" who blared on his horn for long bursts of time, he drove the wrong way on the street on the cable car street, and was highly aggressive while behind the wheel. Pedestrians and other traffic were constantly flipping us off and being upset with our van because of the bad behavior. We got to the airport on time, so again 2 stars. But, terrible. If my experience with this person is normal, don't use this service. Hopefully there are other employees that aren't terrible, such as the one who was courteous to us. read more

I was nervous planning the logistics for the conference remotely from Chicago, but could not be more pleased with the great job Franklin Shuttle did for us. They were always on-time and the vehicles were comfortable for our big group and in great condition. Frank was super responsive and great to work with. When some of our guests wanted to take a little sightseeing tour at the last minute, he managed it and arranged it beautifully, without even charging us extra!
