Joshua directed me The right outfit and look it made me look a lot / slender But there comes at a price. Joshua took the time to explain the cut and fit of all the clothes DXL has to offer. I've been going to DXL and Casual Male for last couple years. Surprisingly happy and helpful staff. Lots of clothes, although primarily mid/high price (Polo, Lucky, Brooks Brothers). They make custom did starting at $695. Of the racks suits start around $300 and alterations are extra, tho reasonable ($10 sleeves, $20 pant hem-- maybe visa versa, sorry). Well organized store. This is totally the boys Lane Bryant. Haha yeah I said it. I'm not skinny, and 2x can be challenging to shop for. Even if you are just an X-Large. The shirts at a lot of other stores won't be long enough. I'm tall and I've tried on 2x's that looked like belly shirts on me. Would've looked good if I had a navel ring and I was in prison though lol. #didHeJustSayThat? I love DXL. Before I learned of this place shopping for clothing simply was not as much fun. Shopping for 2x can be so upsetting, because usually most stores don't have enough selection or they limit you to the big and tall section which is just horrendous at some stores. Macy's in Woodfield Mall for example has two racks. That's it. If you aren't big and tall I challenge you next time you're out to peak at the big and tall selection, and see what is pushed upon us. It smells like a nice mans cologne. The salespeople are always friendly, and I love that they offer their customers bottled water. Very classy joint. The pricing on some things here can get a little expensive, but sign up for the rewards program! You'll get coupons for money off! Totally worth It. DXL has everything- slacks, jeans, suits, coats, etc. They also sell shoes. But I wouldn't buy them at DXL. You can find them cheaper somewhere else. For a big guy it's not always easy to find clothes. Especially clothes with a little bit of style to them. DXL does a great job of solving this. They have a lot of clothes that don't look like the typical big guy clothes. We can't always wear jogging pants. My only issues (i have 2) are the prices and constantly being asked if I need help. Prices: Things are not cheap. For plus size women, clothes can be cheap and fashionable, but not for men. Clothes are very pricey. Like $40-$70 for a good pair of jeans. Yes, there are some cheaper... but they look a lot cheaper. The good thing is when you get a rewards card they start sending you stuff to help. I get coupons from them often. Sometimes even flat out gift cards that can be used for anything. I hate when I walk in a store the size of DXL and 3 or 4 people ask if they can help me. It's like, if I have a question wouldn't I ask it? I understand that they are just doing their job and trying to provide good customer service, but it's ridiculous when people ask you back to back. Overall, I've been a long time shopper with Casual Male and now DXl and I can't complain too much... because the other options are very limited. read more

Today around 1pm I walked into this store, I was met by a large bald white male who asked me what my intentions were. I told him I was there to buy clothing, and asked for the men's room. He told me to use the bathroom at the McDonald's down the street. I can't fathom in the age Amazon that a brick and mortar location would alienate a potential customer. DXL is pretty much the only place I shop for clothes now. And this location in particular is the BEST! Staff is always eager to help, friendly, and genuinely happy to be there and help you. I have the misfortune of not only being a bigger guy, but having a weird body shape. I went in yesterday looking for shorts for the summer and a dress shirt. The man who helped me took his time to search the entire store for the exact shorts that would fit my frame. Only downside of DXL is the prices. Don't expect any sales. BUT they're worth every penny. The clothes are amazing, the staff is amazing, and it's worth to walk in and feel at ease rather than feeling out of place with a big body at ahh other retailer who carries their biggest sizes 3 sizes too small for you. read more

I have platinum status and spend thousands of dollars at DXL, yet the "free hem" I get with my status is the very basic hem and NEVER covers the items I purchase. I encourage you to remove this as a perk (and stop misrepresenting yourself) or change the perk to be the basic hem on the item purchsed. read more

Horrible customer service. Great products, but horrible customer service. You wanna waste your time, literally? Come here. I paid for tailoring rush service, to find that the tailoring was done wrong when I went to pick up the item, because the salesperson Shaquita made the wrong notations after we initially spent a lot of time going over corrections the first time. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened at this store as I was informed. The tailor said it would be corrected within an hour, so I waited at the store. After about 40 minutes of waiting the tailor says that he is working on something else and will call me back when it's ready (so not within the promised hour). I had to adjust my schedule for them to fix their problem. When I return several hours later, the tailor made the correct adjustments. I asked a salesperson if the rush delivery fee could be comped because of this inconvenience to my time, and was promised I would receive an answer within 10 minutes. 25 minutes pass by and other customers have been helped who came in after me and I have to chase down the salesperson who I asked to find that they don't care about the horrible customer service and customers' time they waste. This salesperson said they're so busy dealing with a tailor who they have been having problems with so they couldn't deal with me in a timely manner and also that after asking Shaquita and the manager, he said there are no precedents for refunding the rush delivery fee since, after all, the tailoring was delivered as promised within the appropriate time frame. Oh, and also there was great confusion about exchanging some items which caused even more of a delay, so I just refunded them to avoid anything else going wrong. There's no greater way to tell a customer how much you value them then making it seem their problem is the last priority in the midst of all the problems your store is facing. read more

I don't usually comment but these guys absolutely deserve to be recognized for exceptional service and going above and beyond. I showed up at the store at after closing on New Year's Eve. Ron Michael and the other staff open the door and I explained that I was going to be going out of the country early the next morning on New Year's Day and that I needed to exchange clothes because I had nothing to wear for my trip. They took the time to help me find clothes and exchanged the clothes that I had that were the wrong size, and waited on me patiently until I was able to find everything that I needed . Only have been there once, but plan to continue to go back. As a big guy, they know how to treat you and actually have close that fit well unlike the regular department stores. All name brand items can be found cheaper at Macys or other department store. Whatever corporate decision it was to not have markdown items in your store was a mistake. If there was a 6th star they would get it! I have been to other locations and no offense, this OakBrook location is HANDS DOWN the best! The service is TOP NOTCH! The whole crew there is excellent. I do have to mention Robert and Ron however as the best of the best! They are straight shooters. They are not DXL size guys...but they know DXL clothing and will not let you down. They know how their clothes should fit you. If you ask either of them, they will put something together for you and you will look damn good! Fashion question? They've got answers! In a pinch? ....they got your back too! I was on my way in to work today and I called Robert and asked him to pick a white shirt for me and to please steam it! "I'm coming in a white undershirt I told him", his response, "NO PROBLEM SAL!" I even asked him to grab me a tie to go with black pants, I just trust him.
