Visiting family in Salt Lake, my son had to grab an outfit for a dance. Great customer service here, nice gentleman asked us if we needed help. Very friendly and attentive. My son found an outfit that met his needs. The store was well maintained and had a lot of choices. When you're a bigger man, it can be hard to find nice clothes that fit. DXL has a captive audience and they know it. As the only (ONLY) Big and Tall store in the entire state, this is the spot you have to go to get clothes to fit the larger and taller of us. Customer service is pretty good here. There are always associates roaming around to assist and they are good to let you in the fitting rooms, ring sales, etc. Selection is decent. You can find casual wear, suits, and most anything in between. They have as much selection as a men's department at any other department store. Only issue is if you don't like the department store, there are other department stores. This is the only game in town. Prices are bad. Like, REALLY expensive for what you are getting. This goes back to being the "only game in town." There is no local competition so they can charge what they see fit. And no, I don't buy the "but there's more material" argument. There's not that much more material. If you shop with their coupons and buy multiples of some items you can save some serious money but you are still coming out with an empty wallet. I find I order more online than go to the actual store. It's 50 miles from me and easier to ship to the house and hope things fit. You can return products to the store if need be. read more

Subpar store with only weird sizes in stock.... Overnighted pants because they didn't have them, did not actually get overnighted even though show shipping a few days ago.... Also found out when reviewing email that they are shipping the WRONG SIZE PANTS.... hopefully they show up so I can find somewhere to hem them up! I came to the store to help my brother get new clothes for a promotion. I was totally blown away!! I'm used to men's stores being pretty, well, frumpy. They had a really good selection of styles and brands. High quality pieces perfect for his new job. We left 4 new outfits, and we'll definitely be back! I couldn't convince my brother to get a sports coat, but he said we could come back to snag one. Thanks to Orthella and Sam for a great experience. We were on our way to a fancy brunch and came here in a frantic rush to find a nice button-down shirt for my Husband. It was a Sunday and I wanted to make sure they were open. It was about 11am and Othella answered the phone. I asked what time they opened, she said not until Noon but that if we called when we got to the store, she would gladly open up JUST FOR US, to help us out! I was blown away. Othella was so helpful and honestly went above and beyond for us. Every other time we've come in here, the customer service is top notch The prices are a little bit higher but the quality is great. I'm reading about the great customer service that we didn't experience. We weren't greeted when we walked in. There were only 2 employees in the store and the store was nearly empty. We did receive help from what appeared to be the manager. However overall it looked like they were just ready to go home. I'm glad she measured my husband and we knew his size in dress shirts and dress pants. However it is too pricey for my taste. It angers me to know that there are multiple affordable plus size clothing stores for women and not for men. There needs to be something way more affordable and definitely more fashionable for men. read more

I was on a business trip and realized my sport coat had been damaged. I had always wanted to check out DXL so gave them a try. Ron was great. He took time to measure and then pulled a couple of navy blue jackets for me to try. I decided upon one of them and was out within 30 minutes. I've been a customer both in Pasadena, California and the on-line store for many years. While living in India, they were my only source of XXL polo-shirts and golfing attire, The Indians, as a people, are generally smaller in stature than Americans... and the other problem is the way they label their clothes/sizing. What the Indians call an XL is closer to what might be called a Medium in the States. Having moved to SLC and having my shipment of clothes from Hyderabad LITERALLY on a slow boat from Asia...I found that I needed to make the drive down to Casual Male XL to see what they had. As is usual with their stores, they were well-stocked with their own brand of clothing (mostly "Harbor Bay") - both shirts and pants. They also had a small but very good quality selection of Reebok golf-wear. But the prices for these items was awfully high...so I only bought one golf shirt. This is the problem with this and other "big and tall" man shops...they have a captive audience and can pretty much charge what they want (i.e., their stuff, while of good quality, is quite pricey.) I wish there were other options in SLC, but so far it looks like this store is going to be "it" for the time being. Oh... the girl who waited on me could not have been nicer or more helpful. My wife and I came in to look at suits. The friendly, knowledgeable service from Ron was a breath of fresh air; especially since we had just come from a Men's Wearhouse where the customer service could best be described as "indifferent". And DXL's tie selection made my wife (who picks my ties) happy. Maybe not the highest suit quality in the world; but a decent value nonetheless. My only real complaint is that I gave them my email address at checkout and have been getting as many as 2-3 emails per day from them ever since. I know it's the Christmas season, and I expected *some* spam from them, but . . . geez! read more

If your looking for cheap, this isn't the place. It is difficult to find things for large and xl body size. The customer service here is worth every penny the difference to anywhere else's. While the are not cheap, they are not the most expensive either. But their quality is too notch and they want to make you look good. They care about their customers. Try and get that from any place else. read more
