We live in Las Vegas, so when we wanted to get our son outfitted for his mission, we immediately thought of Mr. Mac. Our salesperson, John, was absolutely amazing!! I walked into Mr Mac thinking I wouldn't find anything but walked away with three new suits. I like a more modern, slim fit design and they surprisingly had a good selection. John was incredibly helpful. I went back in for some alterations and all of the other staff was very helpful as well. I went to Nordstroms too but no one was around to help me so I left. We've been shopping for Suits for my slim 6 foot 9 inch fiancé for months with no luck. The Big and Tall stores just shake their head "no" as soon as we walk in the door because he is not big AND tall. One of the salespersons from a competitors store actually suggested we try out Mr. Mac. What a difference! They had a suit in his size in every color that he could choose from along with a great price and even better customer service! Carson at the Fort Union store was AMAZING! He even said he would keep my fiancé's measurements on file so I could come in at Christmas and buy something without him knowing. I doubt I'll be buying another suit from you, Mac. You're a nice guy, but let me lay out a few reasons that I probably won't be back. First, I'm not all that impressed by your suits. That's really a big enough reason. But if you're after the bargain section there's probably a thing or two you'll find there that you might like. You make a killing off of missionaries, and it makes sense. They're about the beat the daylights out of suits that they'll never fit into in their life, ever again, so it's not a bad deal for them to pick up a couple and be on their way. For the rest of us, it's more about a relationship. A good suit should last you longer than it's in style. So that's what I was looking for several years ago when I purchased a couple of suits. My old college holdout hand worn and it was time for something updated. Fast forward to a few years later, and I'm happy to report that I've slimmed down and I gave Mr. Mac a call to see what the deal was on tailoring. "No worries," they tell me, "if you buy suits from us, we'll tailor them for free. Just have them dry cleaned and bring them in." Relationship. That's what I'm talking about. So that's what I do. A week later I've got two freshly cleaned and pressed suits with way too much room in the waist and I'm in to see my friends at Mac. We fit. They mark. They ask if I got the suits there. I say yes. And we're on our way. A week later I go in to pick them up. We find one right away, but the other is lost. Only for a few minutes. Then it turns up behind the counter. Set aside. "We've never sold this suit," I'm told. I can hear the guy ramping up to charge me for the tailoring. Let me interject that I have purchased just two suits in the last 10 years of my life--these two--so I remember it quite clearly. I remember trying them on. I remember selecting the blue and the black. I remember having them fitted. Not only from Mr. Mac, but from this very location. The salesman continues, "We don't carry that suit. Even the owner says we've never carried it." I'm an easy going guy, but either I'm being called a liar, or being called stupid. I'm not really appreciative of either. So without much love in my voice I let them know when and where I got the suit in question. I've got no problem paying for tailoring. When I called the first time I was fully expecting a price quote. So if you're going to offer tailoring on the honor system (how many hand-me-downs or thrift store suits could you cheat them into tailoring?) then.. y'know... honor your customers. In the end I wasn't charged, so there's that redeeming point. But when I buy something from you and you tell me I didn't, you just hurt yourself and kill our relationship. Sorry, Mac. After the dismal failure of attempting to get help at the Taylorsville location, the Fort Union location was like a spa day. The saleman (who was waiting for his root canal appointment), was extremely helpful, made several excellent suggestions for putting the sports jacket, shirt, tie and slacks together. Measured my husband and markings for the alterations in a quick minute. Everything looks stunning and I'm sure the "look" will be classy. It's a good store, they have what you will need for all sorts of events, but Bob (I think he's the manager) was very rude to me and my fiancé on several occasions. I came in on my own, found a tie I think would work well for our wedding reception, asked him to order 5 more and my fiancé would come check them out, he said it was no problem. I called later that week and he was rude again on the phone. when time came we went and decided that it wasn't quite right, and he made some very rude comments, and complained about the hassle it was to order 5 more of these ties. Well Bob, I apologize for asking you to do your job. We will probably will not be going back. read more

I recently switched professions and for the first time in a couple years, it was time to buy a new suit. I spent 2 days running around the Salt Lake Valley from store to store trying to find just the right suit. I am a funeral director now and I needed a suit that could take a beating. I rolled into this Mr Mac location about a half hour before closing and ended up walking out twenty minutes later with a new suit and a very happy customer. I had been to several other Mr Mac locations, men's warehouse, macys, nordstroms, etc... None of those stores had even half the selection and variety that this Mr Mac location has. Fast forward a couple months and I'm still loving the suit I bought and went back in and bought another from them a couple days ago, this time taking only 15 minutes to make a selection!!
