After giving me the opportunity to explain my needs, Alex helped with finding a suit, shoes and accessories, all while giving me time to mull over each option without being hasty. May have been a bit too agreeable for me, but probably not dishonest. And he did allow me to see everything available in my size. It was nice that after purchasing the suit, various discounts were applied to the shoes and all the other pieces I bought, but I think everyone knows how those pricing gimmicks work; do prepare yourself for the amount when everything is rung up. With my circumstances and limited time frame, the service worked great for me. And they can tailor the pants pretty quickly, probably within 10 to 20 minutes. read more

Unbeatable. I needed a couple of new suits. First stop was a large department store advertising "30% off suits". Their suits used licensed designer brands but were in fact fused junk wool blends that didn't look like they'd survive a week. Oh, and at 30% off they still came in at over $400 each. Are you kidding me? We FLED to Mr. Mac, even though I had the impression that all they had was missionary 2-pant blend suits. WRONG. What I got was four Italian designer 100% wool suits with an actual half-canvas structure that looked 10x better than the fake junk at the other store. FOUR suits of this quality for under $900 TOTAL, which is what they want for ONE of that quality over at JosABank. Plus, when you start buying at Mr. Mac, they start putting on the discounts on any add-ons. I picked up a handful of hefty. high-end Italian silk ties for an average of $25 each which is unheard of. These are $40 on a good sale anywhere else. Their shirt and shoes selection and prices are not that great, but if you need suits, good grief, there is no other place in Utah that even comes close. I understand you close in 35 min., I work sales, but I could have made them a huge sale, massive commisions. I have a large wedding party. They were lazy, and uninterested. They were to busy talking with each other. They literally gave me no info and told me to go to there Salt Lake Store. Then walked away. The place is dusty and could use a bit of clean up. Went there a few years ago with my dad, we purchased two suits from them cause they had a good deal. The suits fit very sloppy. Easly seen by an untrained eye. Instead of the salesman volunteering to help make a few more alterations to get it better, he argued that it looked great..... supper lazy. Even if he was correct in saying, "Thats just how it fits," customer is always right. Finally talked to a manager, got a few more alterations done, and it looked good! read more

I picked the suit up tonight after the second round of basic alterations were supposed to have been done. Once again it was handed to me wrapped and ready to go out the door with no offer to see if I wanted to try it on. Either they are so cocky as to believer they can do no wrong or they are so certain and familiar with the quality of work they do that they don't want to make sure they do a job right. Ever. The adjustments on the coat were correct and it fits like it should. The pants however... still wrong. WRONG. They have measured me twice and in the two weeks they've had my suit have been unable to correctly do what has been asked to be done. At this point I don't know if the staff has been taking inaccurate measurements when marking the pants or if the tailors have not been following correctly those measurements for alterations. What I do know is I am out of all confidence and patience with Mr. Mac and am now forced to go out of pocked to simply have this suit fit the way it should, the way I have now been promised twice it would ...but doesn't. read more

Seriously considering shopping for suits elsewhere. I needed a suit altered, yep, getting a little fat. I had my Mr Mac brand suit dry cleaned in preparation for the alteration. It came back in a bag with a different suit. Not thinking clearly, I guess, I removed the suit from the bag and left it in my closet until I had time to get to their store for the alterations. When I brought it in today, they refused to do anything with it. Practically acted like I had just found it in a dumpster and brought it in to them. It has to come "straight from the dry-cleaner" they said. No stop offs. No delay. Without it, they can't help. They won't give me the time of day. Won't help other than to say that it might be able to be adjusted an inch. I explained my situation trying to be calm and not to show my irritation. Still, no go. Giving it two stars because I have been there with helpful employees before. Might not go back, though. I don't like to be looked down on, made to feel stupid or unclean, or not believed when I go into a store. read more

I recently moved to Utah and found myself in need of a couple business suits. I had a coworker recommend Mr. Mac and so I decided to give them a chance. I was greeted by a nicely dressed young man who measured and took me to my size. I was impressed with the huge selection and high end quality available. I purchased a Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren suit on a buy one get one free special. I needed the tailoring rushed for a business meeting I had and they completed them quickly and accurately without any additional charges. I will be back the next time I need any dress clothing. read more

I purchased a set of two suits with their buy one get one for $1. The suits were very nice and the alterations were done well. I like the way they turned out. The only reason that I'm not giving them a top rating is that when I picked the suits up, one suit had a nice zip up bag to cover it with. The other was just plastic like you get at the dry cleaners. When I asked about this the salesman told me that the second suit wasn't expensive enough to qualify for a zip up bag. I could have bought one for $4. To me, this makes me think that they don't have confidence that they are selling quality suits. Are you as a salesman really going to let a $4 zip up bag keep you from having a satisfied customer? This type of service is not what I expect from any classy establishment. When I bought suits here before I was given zip up bags with all the suits I have purchased. Are you really getting to the point that you are worrying about a measly $4? read more
