It was a visit I'll never forget being shown not just X-rays of my teeth but photographs of the upper front teeth from the back side! I had some serious problems with my lower jaw, and Dr. Elder's explanation of the problem with photographs and x-rays was easily the best I ever received. Dr. Elder and his staff regularly go above and beyond to make sure that their patients are comfortable and happy. Andrea at the front desk is a huge advocate to make sure that everything is squared away with insurance so that there are no surprise costs. Val, one of the hygienists is gentle with patients who have sensitive teeth, while doing a thorough job. Dr. Elder is the best. He takes time with his patients to discuss procedures and answer questions. He never pressures his patients into procedures they don't need or can't afford. In my case, he went went the extra mile. I had a retainer that didn't fit perfect. It was ok, even fine. But he sent it back to the lab and spent an hour fine tuning it so that it would look and feel natural. After a while, it broke (I broke it!)when I took it out. He replaced it without any cost to me. This practice is the epitome of a small town friendly family dentist. I've just visited Dr. Elder's office for the first time, after a year of careful inquiry; ''shopping'' for a new dentist after mine retired. My hygienist was Misty, and she did an absolute marvelous job of being the perfect combination of very thorough, yet gentle. This office is professional, yet friendly. It has ''old school'' values of honesty, quality, and integrity, yet has state of the art equipment and knowledge. The trend in many offices these days is all business; where they are profit motivated and the bottom line is paramount. I highly recommend Dr. Elder and his staff. Early one morning, a good-sized chunk of molar decided to take a permanent vacation from chewing. I called my dentist. Out of town. I phoned the on-call guy, got voice mail and left one. Hmmm. A search of the internet led me to Dr. Edler's website, which I perused with care. I was skeptical until I learned that each member of his staff had been with him a good long time. From this I surmised that Dr. Elder must certainly be a great boss and, likely, a great dentist. I gave the office a call. Hearing of my dilemma, they got me right in that very morning for a look-see and scheduled me the next day for a temporary crown. Dr. Elder did everything possible to alleviate stress and pain, quite successfully. The permanent crown fits perfectly. I have since had my teeth cleaned by Misty (FANTASTIC!) and am scheduled for another crown next week. I can't say I look forward to visiting the dentist but will say I no longer dread it.
