Lompoc Dental & Associates is going to be my #1 choice every time! Not only are all the staff friendly, but the level of care is top tier. Vivana, at the front desk, was incredibly kind and informational. She was happy to answer any questions I had, and trust me I had quite a few. The dental hygienist, Jill, provided a compassionate climate, showing she really cares about the patients wellbeing and comfortability the entire time. Dr. Coon showed great chairside manner and was really helpful with any concerns or questions I had. The building is very conveniently located with a cozy office that is tremendously welcoming. They even set out little snacks and beverages in a mini refrigerator for anyone in the waiting room to enjoy or take with them on the way out. What I thought was an abscessed tooth turned out to be a sinuses infection. But not before a referral to an endodontist and almost 500 dollars in Xray's latter. Having said that, in the end, a prescription of amoxicillin did the trick. So, after getting the bills I went over to Lompoc Dental & Associates to pay the bill and after telling them the story...They waved the office visit and the referral charge after finding my insurance was maxed. They took me in immediately and got the referral and made sure the Endodontist could see me that day as well. Lessons learned here, still they did me right. Amazing staff and dentist! I had been under amor of pain for the last week and a half and I randomly contacted this office asking if they would take me in for a second opinion. I had a consultation and an X-ray the same day and the doctor explained that the root canal was successful but I was having a flare up. Without hesitation he explained he would be prescribing me stronger medications and I am feeling so much better now. Thank you, thank you! The staff was very welcoming and understanding I highly recommend this place to anyone! I am glad we have such caring and loving staff and doctors in town. I had been a patient of Dr Calhoun's for a number of years, but this practice has gone downhill since he retired and it became Lompoc Dental and Associates. Brand new staff (no one stuck around from previous practice), fell through some cracks during the transition and an overall lack of timely communication. They increased the membership from $275 to $359 and only offer a 10% discount IF paid in full vs 20% off services under Dr Calhoun, regardless if services were paid in full. Definitely looking around for an all inclusive practice. read more

I was a patient of Dr.Calhoun for 38 years and was very pleased with him and his staff but when he sold out it went to hell. I went in for a few fillings 2 weeks ago and was scheduled for a few more in 2 weeks. But last week I went in for a cleaning and xrays, and was told I needed an extraction. When I told the new dentist Kaslow it seldom bothered me and refused to get it pulled. He refused to continue treatments and canceled my future appointments. What a Dick. I hope Nobody will use this SOB. He deserves to have his license revoked. read more

I went to Dr. Calhoun's office this week and they're Awesome! It's been about 12 years since I have seen a dentist because I have had traumatic dental visits in the past. For example, I have not been believed by previous dentists when I said Novocain doesn't numb me. They then gave me far too many injections in an attempt to numb me and I spent the rest of the day vomiting because of the over dose of medication that didn't work. Then they proceeded to drill into my face when I could feel it. I have had them ask me to try to be more quiet because my screams of pain were scaring people in the lobby. Needless to say, these types of incidents have left me terrified of going to the dentist. However, knowing that I have to have proper dental care, I began the internet review search to find someone local that I might be able to trust. Dr. Calhoun and the staff of this practice made me feel comfortable and calmed my nerves. They took their time and truly heard my concerns. They were kind, caring, and professional. I left feeling comfortable that I was in good hands and even made a couple of follow up appointments that I am not going to be scared to go to. If you are looking for an amazing dental team, I highly recommend Dr. Calhoun's practice! read more
