I went to Dr. Wipf to get a prescribed dental device to resolve sleep issues. The doctor seemed very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. However I had problems with the device, and it was never fully implemented. I asked for assistance and got some initial guidance. But there was no followup despite Dr Wipf's office knowing the device didn't work for me. Moreover the office supplied inadequate regular support in implementing the dental device. read more

Today I went for a regular scheduled cleaning, then exam by Dr. Aiello for issue I'm having with 2 teeth. After x-ray and actual physical exam, she was able to determine that I have a cavity in the front tooth and a chipping that same tooth and also my last back tooth on the bottom that has a bridge attached to it is fail so she's gonna put in for the VA veterans administration For the work I need done. So disappointed in the office staff Jen in particular. What I thought was going to be a positive outcome turned into a rude ending and a bad review. My husband and i are back home and looking for a new dentist. I found this dentist office online. A simple question asking if Dr. Maria is accepting new patients, turned into a circus. Apparently, since I don't have a referral from one of her or Dr. Wipf's patients I am not to move forward with the process. This dentist office is exclusively based on referrals ONLY and you have to meet the criteria because as Jen stated they are trying to tend to all their patients. Well, if you have too many, then simply say you are not accepting new patients and the conversation ends! Jen continued to be vague in questioning which I thought was odd and picked up on it. Erik is an SB Loc who took over the practice from his dad and has a real appreciation for his clients and the community. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and a great dentist, just like his dad. Luke is also an outstanding dentist and has been an awesome addition to the team. His calm demeanor, deep knowledge, and empathetic manner always impress me when he's working on anyone in my family - and we all go here for our dentistry. I was nervous to come in due to my lapse in cleanings, but the team never made me feel bad or uncomfortable. I found the entire team, especially Dr. Fawzy, to be warm and accommodating. If I lived in the Santa Barabara area, I would definitely use the dental services of Dr. Wipf`s office and staff because they are always polite/professional, practice safety for the patient, and leave no questions unanswered. For this reason, I come from Paso Robles, about 128 miles away, for their Sleep Well Appliance for sleep apnea, a one of kind product and service that is insurance approved for the whole Central Coast. In the space of 2 hours I walked out of his office with a smart new crown as he has the ability to fashion a crown with a CAD/CAM machine. We had the same dentist for 13 years before moving back to Santa Barbara. I guess you can say we like to find our "people" and stick with them! So, it was a little nerve-wracking to find a new one for the next decade. We scoured Yelp, asked friends, etc and Dr. Wipf kept coming up. We made an appointment and were AMAZED by the level of organization at this office. Not only was Dr. Wipf incredible (both my husband and I said our exam was far more thorough than with our last dentist), but his entire team is friendly and efficient. They just have it down and you can tell the office culture is solid. Also, as a side note, their Covid policies are 100! Temp checks, they spray their offices several times a day, masks and shields, etc. Grateful! If you can get in, you'll be thrilled with their quality of service. I interviewed three dentists after my dentist retired and after being taken to the bank by a follow up shyster dentist. Dr. Wipf is heads above any other dentists I have experienced. He is knowledgeable, technologically advanced, and an all around nice guy. His staff is great also. I chipped a tooth and he tried a temporary filling for $35 which after 6 months is still holding up. My last shyster dentist would have sold me a crown. I then had a sore on my gum and an endodontist said it was a fractured tooth requiring being pulled and an implant. Dr. Wipf again suggested a wait and see attitude. The sore is gone, expense averted, so far, so good. The best part of all is Dr. Wipf fitted me with a mouthguard for sleep apnea. It has changed my life. I sleep through the night with maybe one bathroom visit and wake refreshed. No more naps. Best of all, I don't snore at all any more, none, zip, nada. I Was having a very bad tooth pain that was causing me to have a massive jaw pain and throbbing . I called in and Dr Sharron was able to fit me into his schedule that day too look at the issue. Dr Sharron was able too take away the pain i was having and fit me in the next day to perform a root canal that took all the pain away. I did a sleep study and received a list of 10 dentists to have a dental device for sleep apnea made. Only Eric Wipf, "Sleep Well Dentistry" of Santa Barbara was certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABDSM) to make this device. Because Erik Wipf was certified, and not just a regular dentist, insurance helped pay for the dental device. For 4 years I have been seeing Erik Wipf and he is always super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and a very talented dentist. I found Dr. Sharron after moving to Santa Barbara from LA. I procrastinated long enough and finally broke down and found a dentist office locally. I'm certainly not a fan of the dentist but Luke makes it an enjoyable experience. Even after moving to the Valley and having them drop my insurance (Delta Dental), I still go here. I understand the need for going out-of-network on Delta, they basically won't increase their payout rates to correspond with increased service rates over time. In addition to Luke, the rest of the staff is great as well. Always very helpful and kind. The dental hygienists make you feel comfortable and make your teeth sparkle. I have been seeing Dr. Sharron for past 3 years and definitely recommend him as a dentist. He takes his time with you, explains things in detail and answers all questions - overall great chairside manner. Most importantly, he is honest and has not tried to sell me on any procedures/products I do not necessarily need. Everyone is friendly. All the hygienists I have been to, have been gentle in their work and do not elicit pain upon cleaning (which cannot be said about every hygienist/dentist). Came at the recommendation of my husband, following a terrible experience with another local dentist. Immediately impacted by the outstanding customer service and general kindness of the staff. All the receptionists took the time out to introduce themselves (and my hygienist reintroduced me again later). Dr. came and introduced himself BEFORE I'd even had my teeth cleaned yet (first time this has ever happened in my experience), asked if i had any concerns etc. I told him about an issue and he checked it out on the spot. I had my teeth cleaned and the hygienist was very nice did a great job. They let me know immediately what they could do about my issue and gave me the run down based on my insurance- a far more reasonable cost than the multi-thousand dollar quote I received at the former office. Another note is how persistent they have been as they have had ongoing issues getting my xrays from the former office. They haven't given up and have left me several messages letting me know they are still on it. So glad I found this practice! read more
