I'm not an expert on sweets. I picked up a bag of mixed flavors at the farmers' market on a Sunday at Atwater Village for my daughter. I tried the salted caramel. It was light and well balanced as opposed to being too sweet. I thought that Duverger's macarons were better than Lette. Bottega doesn't even come close. They're also cost less ($1.65).

Nodding my head and agreeing with other yelpers while I am writing this... Duverger definitely has the best macarons in LA!!! I am so happy to find out and I can't wait for them to have their own store.. I first found out about them in Flour+Tea a while ago, and was told that it was made by a French couple.. I did buy a few pcs to try out but it was too sweet for me so I didn;t like it much. However, a friend bought me a few pcs from Au79 Tea Express (Pasadena) last weekend... and that have completely changed my mind about Duverger! Personally Laduree is my favorite but the closest one is in NY! Duverger is definitely the closest to what I have got in Laduree! Duverger's macarons are made by all natural and organic ingredients ... no one likes macarons that look and taste artificial, not me.. :) Offering a total of 12 flavors. The ones I have just tried are chocolate, orange blossom and chocolate orange liquor... and they are so so good and not super sweet!!! I cant wait to try them all! And I love their logo with the macarons tree :) See below to find out where to get these amazing treats... http://www.duvergermacarons.com/retailers.html

Box of 12

I picked up a box of 12 from Monsieur Marcel at the Farmer's Market. The blueberry lavender is freaking delicious and amazing. Blueberry lavender is one of my current obsessions (the Chunk n Chip truck has blueberry lavender ice cream btw). All of the other flavors are solid (pistachio, lemon, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, praline, raspberry) but I would seriously buy a box of 12 blueberry lavender. At Monsieur Marcel the boxes are pre-sorted but would fix that by coming to this store. :)

There are macarons and there are, macarons. I had the pleasure of tasting the little devils at a food festival. I was amazed at how simple they looked but the first bite capture my heart and melted my soul. Crisp on the outside and soft in the inside, with just enough cream filling to balance the sweetness and flavor. Their flavors range from the ever popular salted caramel to unique blueberry lavender. They are made with almond flour, and are gluten free & could i say, wholesome? The fact that they only sell at farmers' market and are own by lovely French couple, makes the whole experience more authentic than it ought to. For a moment I felt like Edith Piaf was humming away along the streets. But the Socal weather put a stop to that instantly. I doubt there won't be any better pastries around town. For this is as perfect, reasonable and lovely as any petit fours can get. Gentlemen, please your ladies with these. Ladies, put your man's email address on their emailing list pronto.

The salted caramel gave me a foodgasm. I got one and then gobbled it up and got another one. Can not wait to try their lemon.

I love their pastries, but the recent price increases do make them a luxury item. Kouign Amann are my fave, but any of their croissants are also great. I haven't really tried their drinks. Had a Hot chocolate at the Camarillo location, and they even had a little latte art in the milk foam. A beautiful space to enjoy, but pricey overall. Service is usually fine, not overly friendly but that is also due to being so busy that they need to move the lines quickly and efficiently. At Camarillo, the server was much more talkative and friendly because it wasn't crowded when I went.

Served with a warmed goat cheese crostini. No mention of melons it had a few slivers of strawberries. Overall taste not very good. Had my mom try it too she was unimpressed. She had the chicken salad. She said it was just chicken with mayo. The croissant was dry. The iced tea tasted like coffee unfortunately. The gentleman that delivered our food just plopped the plates down and walked away. No gluten free options only macaroons! First time at this location normally go to Camarillo and TO so I was expecting the same great food and service. There was a napkin on the ground directly under our table. The ledge by window was dirty! Just disappointing!

Everything looked so delicious and smelled heavenly that I wanted it all. I bought a jelly donut, chocolate cake donut with nuts and a cronut. I love jelly donuts and this one was so soft and the jelly was perfect. The chocolate cake reminds of what my mom used to make for me and it was perfection. I'm saving the cronut for later but it smells so good. The cupcakes look so yummy and she mentioned that they cakes as well. I will be ordering a cake from here when it's my birthday. Do yourself a favor and stop by and pickup some donuts you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to try her cakes.

I saw on their menu board they have Gluten Free options, but the woman behind the counter confirmed it's custom order only. Still, it's good that it's an option if you order ahead. And their macrons are GF so I got some of those. They had 11 different flavors, though I only saw tags for some of those flavors so the rest will be a surprise! I also got 4 cupcakes and I had committed myself to buying 4 but wasn't sure I loved 4 flavors of what was left. I ended up with (in order of interest): apple pie, black forest, snickerdoodle and mint chocolate. I should have read my review from 12 years ago because the mint chocolate still tastes like toothpaste to me, but it's a very mild mint so that's good. I wasn't sure I'd like the snickerdoodle but it was amazing! The black forest cupcake had a maraschino cherry inside, which was an awesome surprise! I ate the apple pie one last and it had a little actual apple pie filling inside of it! LOVE THAT!! It feels sacrilegious of me to say, but I think the cupcakes have just a little too much frosting. It's also fair to say these are not cheap cupcakes. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, and they look beautiful, and you pay a premium for all that. Overall, I highly recommend these cupcakes and will definitely stop here again.

It's a casual & cute cafe that always hits the mark and we love seeing their growth all over the 805. I stopped in for an iced matcha and decided to try something new and I'm so glad I did. Huge kudos to Ashley for recommending their breakfast crepe (not something I'd normally order, but WOW was it good). BREAKFAST CREPE: A fluffy crepe filled with soft, melty brie, eggs, bacon, arugula and tomatoes, absolutely delicious and so well balanced. I'd get this again in a heartbeat. 10/10 ICED MATCHA: Washed it all down with a sweet iced matcha, just how I like it...lightly sweet, a little creamy, and still packing that earthy matcha flavor. 8/10. Definitely a great location in the heart of old town camarillo. Nice staff, clean interior, cozy vibes and good food.

We let the group pass us and entered the restaurant. We were promptly seated at a corner table and given menus. It did take a bit for the server to come back to take our order, but we did realize we came in 1/2 hour before closing, so we eased off a bit. My partner order the hot pot and was very happy with his choice. The server came back with a hot plate and instructed us how to cook the meat. I was a bit apprehensive about having to cook my own food, but the fragrant smell as it cooked changed my mind. The broth was flavorful and the veg and meat were tender as they soaked up the soupy goodness. I also ordered the boa buns and the pillowy texture, mixed with the soft pork and crunchy cucumber and carrots made my belly sing. We slurped up our food and cleared out as quickly as we could. I hate being that person that lingers at closing time. What I do regret is that I did not take more time at their counter as we exited because it was full of snacks and curios that I love. Next time for sure!
