No frill buffet is in the description of Dutch Pantry. We went on a Wednesday for the Fried Chicken lunch. Just walk in find a place to sit. Then head to food for plate, silverware and drink too. You do it all. We skipped the salad bar. Shredded lettuce like you use for tacos seemed strange. Mashed potatoes, 2 kinds gravy, butter beans, really good cream corn, green beans , sausage n Sauerkraut, and then chicken. At first the chicken coating was soggy from being in warmer. Next batch we got was alot better and more crispy. Simple, Home cooking. Sweet tea was good. Desserts are what it's about! Saucers full of different cakes to choose and pans of cobblers. I had Pecan pie and choc cake and tried the Strawberry Rhubarb cobbler. Guessing I'm not a fan of Rhubarb. Truly good desserts! Ok, the pieces were small ! I know what your thinking. This is a grab a corelle dish all you can eat. Love that they use all different designs of corelle. Then when you are done pickup some pies or cookies to go. We love the Pineapple Coconut pies. You pay up front, no tic, just tell them you had lunch. Different food each day, so want to try Monday for Turkey n Dressing.

Dessert buffet...7 + pies and 5 cobblers + brownie, cake and ice cream!

This will work for some...not for others..small town, set price, set menu buffet with established main dishes, salad bar and huge dessert spread. Nothing fancy, just good food at a decent price. We were there for fried chicken and barbecue pork ribs. There was also chicken and noodles, beans, mashed potatoes...and some other sides. Salad bar was pretty full of selections, and the desserts went on and on....and on....and on. We sampled about 5 different pies and cobbler... Price was about $16/person, but that included the beverage and the desserts...which puts the entree and salad bar at less than $10. Service was friendly...and even though we were "outsiders" we felt like family. Decor was simple...no frills, but clean. We enjoyed it, left full, and didn't break the bank. Good food, fair price. Limited, but for a small town, a good choice

Outstanding home cooked food with healthy vegetables and choices plus homemade pies and desserts. Pie crust was perfect.

It wasn't bad. Salad and ranch were food. I had a few bites of hamburger w mushroom gravy and chicken. I heard they had noodles that were really good but they weren't there when i went. I probably wouldn't go back but maybe it was an Off day?

    Food!

Very good food that felt home-cooked. Buffet style and plenty of room. Good selection of desserts with a fair price for the buffet.

It was such an inviting experience and definitely made me feel as though I was a part of their family's dinner. It was truly special! I'd absolutely recommend trying this at some point! No signs declare its existence. My wife and I found ourselves there for a meeting with her coworkers, one of whom has been a longtime frequenter of this establishment and recommended it as the site for the group's monthly dinner. She had made the reservation (required, for parties of at least 15) and had also been the one to choose our meal. I'm told the business can accommodate for many different allergies or diets and that they have a wide selection of meats, vegetables/sides, and desserts from which you can take your pick. The dining hall is in a nondescript white building across from the main house. It is far from fancy in keeping with the lifestyle of its proprietors. As in tin-metal walls, concrete floor, and gas-powered lights/heat. Metal folding chairs flank two long rows of folding tables covered in plastic tablecloths; our party of 12 sat in one row with a few seats to spare. The atmosphere is that of having a Sunday supper after church with kinfolk at grandma's. The (rather adorable) children of the (hardworking) women preparing and serving our food played along the borders of the room and ran through the doors, the air ringing with their laughter. Drinks (water or unsweetened tea only) were served as we arrived. Once everyone was present the food came out family-style - one large platter or bowl at a time, passed from one person to another. And now what you've all been waiting for: the food! The coleslaw wasn't very good; then again, I'm not a coleslaw fan and so might not be a good judge of it. The green beans could've come from a can for all the good they tasted. And the roast was dry, tasteless. That's where the negatives end. The baked chicken was tender/moist/juicy, all those words that make some people uncomfortable when talking period, let alone about food. The mashed potatoes were creamy, the white gravy perfectly rich, the country noodles expertly flavored, and the turkey dressing pure cheesy goodness. I can't forget the rolls, too, which when paired with homemade apple butter were the best I've ever had. After a brief rest to digest, we were served one kind of coffee and two kinds of pie - cherry and coconut cream. The cherry pie filling reminded me of a Pop-Tart but more intense, which wasn't a bad thing at all. Typically I don't like even the word coconut unless it's followed by "rum and pineapple juice", but that particular pie was delicious. It may have made me a convert. I haven't mentioned the service, but it was fantastic. Glasses never more than half-empty before being refilled. Constant questions of whether we needed anything else. Smiling faces and good conversation. We ate until we were stuffed and several people took home heaping to-go boxes, yet there was still a ton left of each food item. On the way out I picked up a loaf of banana but bread from the bakery side. The damage to my wallet for all of this? $27.59! Yep. All-you-can-eat comfort food for two in a place that feels like home for under $30. I'm definitely going back. Just as soon as I can round up 10-12 likeminded foodies so I can make a reservation.

At a fish house, the same heartfelt enthusiasm fuels their suggestions, their pride illuminating every dish they serve. But why is it, when we reach out about their pies--those tender, comforting slices--their response is silence? No advice, no hints, no warmth--just a cold, dismissive "I don't eat pie. It's been six years since I had pie. It's just not something I eat." Those are the words from the very people who work here, strangers to the simple joy that a good pie can bring. No effort to tempt, no desire to share a slice of happiness or to welcome us back. It's as if they've given up entirely on creating an experience, on making us feel valued, on making us crave more. And even as signs invite us to indulge--"Try our butter, cheese, fudge"--we walk away empty-handed, denied even a sample to taste the passion behind their products. This place, with its dusty buggies parking spot out front, presents itself as an Amish-inspired haven, yet it feels hollow--more of a tourist trap than a genuine slice of heritage. It's a place that seems to have forgotten the soul of community, the warmth of tradition, and the simple act of sharing something truly special. And I can't help but wonder--why settle for empty gestures and sterile responses? Why not open your hearts, embrace the spirit of true hospitality, and let us taste the love you claim to carry? I'll look forward to March 14.
