We've been visiting Amish Cheese House every 4-6 weeks to stock up on some family favorites. We've not sampled their cafe yet, but we did have some ice cream one time and highly recommend it - super creamy, and the purple cow flavor is so good and unusual!! As for the family favorites we have to stock up on, I am personally obsessed with pickles and pickle juice. I was loyal to Claussen Mini Dills but they haven't been carrying them anywhere in at least 6 mos but I found that the pickles at Amish Cheese Pantry taste very similar AND they sell their pickle juice in a pint for $0.99 or quart for $1.49! And they sell it refrigerated and frozen! I get usually 6 quarts, half frozen and half not. We also get their fresh sliced Colby longhorn cheese and we usually find a few new things each time. We typically check out and head next door to the bakery for fresh baked goods and frozen meals at Nettie Ann's which seems to be part of the Cheese House but kind of not. The place is always busy, I don't know that they ever have a "down time" but the staff is always friendly and helpful, never short or rude. Everyone we've seen enjoying lunch at the cafe seemed to enjoy it and we will make an effort to eat there soon and update this review! read more

There is so much to choose from here in the store. Amish products for days. We didn't have time to eat in the cafe, but we loved the shopping. We bought some amazing dutch chocolates, but were tempted by the fresh ice cream. Some of the staff are actual Amish- which added to the charm. Everyone was friendly and helpful. read more

I stopped in the Amish Cheese House for the first time on my way to Tulsa today. I was excited but ended up a bit disappointed. I ordered a sandwich at the restaurant and it was "build your own" style. I decided on a panini with fajita chicken meat and sourdough bread. There wasn't much meat and the sandwich was quite small and not tasty at all. I could have put something together at home that tasted better. The service was below average as I asked for suggestions and was provided nothing but - you build your own - pick what you want. Well I did. And the sandwich sucked. :) So after I ate lunch, I purchased a few types of cheese on my way out. The cashier did not say hello, hi, how are you, thanks, or anything. I finally said thanks and have a nice day. Geez. Did I break their dress code? The cheese was a good price and tasted good. I might stop in for cheese again someday. Bottom line, Amish Cheese House is not a "must do" in this area. It's just a'right. read more

Amish Cheese House is a delightful place to stop. It's a combination deli, cafe, and store, with a bakery next door. The cafe is known for their homemade soups (the potato cheese is excellent), Amish noodles, great custom made sandwiches using their deli products and bread from the bakery next door, and homemade ice cream! The store carries Amish products from around the country (Amish butter is the best!), great cheeses, jellies, jams, and preserved provisions, bulk type foodstufs, snacks and spices, some cutlery and cookware, and miscellaneous items like puzzles and health tonics! They have a deli where you can purchase great sliced deli meats to take home (I recommend the Lebanon bologna). Kids will enjoy eating inside of a black buggy in the cafe and the restrooms are super nice and clean, and the staff is very cheery and helpful (and their Instagram account is pretty funny sometimes!). Be sure to visit Nellie Ann's Bakery next door. Their fresh breads are amazing and priced very well, based on how new the loaf is, they have excellent frozen pot pies and other freezer dinner items, as well as pies and other baked goodies. read more

Fun stop, in what feels like the middle of nowhere. It's a little market/store/restaurant. They have an assortment of cheeses of course, but we came for the ice cream. The ice cream was so delicious and SUPER cheap! I got the jr cone ($1 and change) and it was surprisingly a really good amount of ice cream for the price and quality. It's all homemade and hand dipped. The Amish lady behind the counter was very clean and washed her hands very frequently and wore gloves. I got the "brownie points" flavor. It has chocolate swirl with brownies throughout. It was very smooth and tasted so good. I would absolutely come back to this place for ice cream and next time I will be getting some cheese! read more

I am a big fan of this place. They make their own food, spices, ice cream and baked goods. We've been there three times now, and it's always delicious and served up with a smile. You gotta love the free samples and the HUGE variety of spices, toppings, ingredients and snacks they have on the shelves. Chouteau, OK. Stopped by here for a quick but late lunch. One employee was mopping the floor and putting chairs on tables as if they were closing soon. There was a small dining area still open though. I had the fajita chicken wrap. To be honest here, it was delicious. Piping hot with a generous fill of chicken. There were chili's in there with a mild bite but also a touch of sweetness. Made it interesting. There was supposed to be sour cream in there but it was minuscule. I don't know why they call it a fajita wrap. There is nothing fajita about it. The chicken is cubed into small pieces, and may actually be precooked, not pan seared with chilies. Steph got the turkey cheddar panini, and it was very good. I would come back just for the wrap it was great. For dessert, a pumpkin cake with a cream cheese frosting. It turned to paste in the mouth with no flavor. We got two small pies to go. The peach pie was canned peaches and gobs of cornstarch filler. The pecan pie wasn't any better with a thin layer of finely chopped pecans resting on a layer of starchy goop. These desserts are, to be perfectly descriptive, pure crap. I'd say if you're hungry, grab lunch, avoid the treats. read more

Enjoyed stopping here. We travel full time so finding a unique place to stop sounds easy but its not. Fun gift shop type store with baked goods, jams, cheese, meats. We each got an individual pie, I got cherry and it was really good. I love cherry pie and theirs was probably the second best I've had. Hubby got pecan. He gets it a lot and he said this one was really good. I didnt taste his, not a fan of pecan. Got some other goodies, not as noteworthy. Fun little shop, worth a stop. I went to the Amish Cheese House because I have ate their on several occasions and was hungry for something light. Once I went inside I decided to order the Hoss sandwich with Swiss cheese, turkey, lettuce, onions and mayonnaise on sourdough bread. The Amish cheese house doesn't disappoint. The sandwich hand a superb combination of turkey to cheese to lettuce combination so you could taste all the flavors. The sourdough bread was just icing on the cake. Added sweetness to the sandwich that enhances the flavors. I would highly recommend anyone to try a sandwich from the Amish Cheese House; you won't be disappointed! read more

A bakery at one end (where else can you buy a take and bake 6 pound blackberry cobbler?) with a deli selling fudge, jams, jellies, pickled items, dips, spreads, candies, cookware, cookie cutters and even toys in the middle, and a restaurant with freshly made soups, made to order sandwiches, salads and an ice cream counter. I had a roast beef and Swiss on honey oat with mayo, spicy mustard, lettuce, tomato, sweet pickles and a dill spear, as a combo with broccoli cheese soup and a drink for about $8. Soup was made WITHOUT CHICKEN STOCK, the first time I have found this in Tulsa, and it was awesome!! With a food allergy this is key!! Sandwich was fresh and generous and wonderful. Panini and wrap options also available, and the rest of my party had Paninis. $0.50 ice cream minis are free for kids 3 and under, and kids meals are served on a frisbee. NOTE: take a minute and figure out exactly what you want, because that is exactly what you will get...write it down if you have to, because if you want a pickle spear, order it, because I don't want three people trying to eat mine!!! We finished our meal with an ice cream, and it did not disappoint! Ample portions, cones stuffed the way they are supposed to be, and the flavors were delicious! The only negative for me, is the use of styrofoam, plates, cups and bowls. As much business as I saw going through this place, a little effort towards a greener operation would go a long way. After driving by these large bill-boards that say "Amish Cheese House... FREE SAMPLE INSIDE" I had to stop by! It turns out that the free sample of cheese is just this little plate of cubed cheese on the back corner somewhere by itself. It looks like it's been sitting there and no one watches if anyone uses their bare hands. It's a little disappointing but it's still interesting to see the employee's wear Amish clothing. I didn't eat here for their lunch but I did browsed their selection of Amish foods. They sell local jam, candies, bottled drinks, lots of snacks (good for road trips), and of course cheese. I didn't see anything I liked but I will come back and pick up something "Amish" to bring home next time. read more

Love the Amish Cheese House! I've been meaning to stop by for years on the way to see family in Locust Grove, but every time I drove past it was either after closing time or on a Sunday. Finally got to visit the other day and so glad I did! The selection of products is great - there's a guarantee you'll be leaving with at least one item, if not a whole basket full! The bakery (Nettie Ann's) smells amazing! They have homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, lemon squares, dessert breads, homemade frozen meals, ice cream cakes and treats.....awesome! They also have a discount rack for day old bread for 50% off. I purchased some fudge brownies (small container, but I really wanted the large one....but I also want my pants to fit so I compromised) and they looked like they'd be a little dry but OMG they were amazing! Another purchase I made was this amazing homemade "fluffernutter" spread. A small container ran about $1.47 (price depends on weight) and it was sooooo worth it! Yum! I also picked up a small jar of pickled beets, homemade strawberry jam, and some locally made soap that smelled like cotton candy. The Amish Cheese House carries ground spices, homemade noodles, baking spices/items, dried fruit, snack mixes, tons of canned items (and by that, I mean jars), jellies, jams, butters, meats, fudge, coffee, and of course CHEESE! If you visit you might bring a cooler b/c you will definitely want to check out the freezer section. BUT if you forget your cooler they do sell reuseable bag coolers. We also had panini sandwiches and regular sandwiches all different kinds and they were all good. We also had the homemade ice cream, they had various flavors and they were delicious. The store has home made jams and honey. They had a cute bakery on the other end and we couldn't pass up to by some. We finished the bread in a day. Wishing we bought more. My cousin Leesa and I visited today. After one visit, I can say I will be back! The place is in Chouteau, Oklahoma, but is well worth the drive. They have a bakery with fresh baked goods, bread, and cookies. All their baked goods are made from natural ingredients. The best part? Except for the pies and frozen foods, nothing was over 3.00!!!! We went to the adjacent market and it was a wonderland of yumminess! There was real churned butter, bacon cheddar cheese, and the best hands down pumpkin spice dip I've ever had!! All of the prices were extremely reasonable and the food was very fresh. I even saw kielbasa and lots of fresh meat. We didn't get any frozen food since we were going to the Tulsa Vintage show and didn't want to leave it in the car. But trust me, we will be back to stock up!!! We did eat lunch at the deli. She had a hot dog and apples with peanut butter. I ordered the cheese sandwich with chips. We each had a birthday cake kiddie cone.
