Great shopping place after eating at Dutch Pantry or they even have small eats here. Such a cute place and I have to say it.........clean bathrooms. Ice cream counter and a separate bakery at other end of store. They have everything from the best jars of sweet peaches, jams, sauces, pickles, Candy, noodles, seasonings, lots of fresh cheese. Kitchen items too. We always grab several to take home. Good day trip and always want to shop antique stores. Always eat too much ,so maybe next time shop before eating!

We've been visiting Amish Cheese House every 4-6 weeks to stock up on some family favorites. We've not sampled their cafe yet, but we did have some ice cream one time and highly recommend it - super creamy, and the purple cow flavor is so good and unusual!! As for the family favorites we have to stock up on, I am personally obsessed with pickles and pickle juice. I was loyal to Claussen Mini Dills but they haven't been carrying them anywhere in at least 6 mos but I found that the pickles at Amish Cheese Pantry taste very similar AND they sell their pickle juice in a pint for $0.99 or quart for $1.49! And they sell it refrigerated and frozen! I get usually 6 quarts, half frozen and half not. We also get their fresh sliced Colby longhorn cheese and we usually find a few new things each time. We typically check out and head next door to the bakery for fresh baked goods and frozen meals at Nettie Ann's which seems to be part of the Cheese House but kind of not. The place is always busy, I don't know that they ever have a "down time" but the staff is always friendly and helpful, never short or rude. Everyone we've seen enjoying lunch at the cafe seemed to enjoy it and we will make an effort to eat there soon and update this review!

I really enjoyed my lunch here. One of the best sandwiches that I have ever had in my life at a great price. They offer great service and the atmosphere is amazing.

I have always adored the Amish Cheese House! Best sandwiches and homemade ice cream! I love to get tons of snacks to take home. Staff are very kind. It's super cute and clean inside too. This is a must-stop in Chouteau. You'll find something delicious every time.

Amish Cheese House is a delightful place to stop. It's a combination deli, cafe, and store, with a bakery next door. The cafe is known for their homemade soups (the potato cheese is excellent), Amish noodles, great custom made sandwiches using their deli products and bread from the bakery next door, and homemade ice cream! The store carries Amish products from around the country (Amish butter is the best!), great cheeses, jellies, jams, and preserved provisions, bulk type foodstufs, snacks and spices, some cutlery and cookware, and miscellaneous items like puzzles and health tonics! They have a deli where you can purchase great sliced deli meats to take home (I recommend the Lebanon bologna). Kids will enjoy eating inside of a black buggy in the cafe and the restrooms are super nice and clean, and the staff is very cheery and helpful (and their Instagram account is pretty funny sometimes!). Be sure to visit Nellie Ann's Bakery next door. Their fresh breads are amazing and priced very well, based on how new the loaf is, they have excellent frozen pot pies and other freezer dinner items, as well as pies and other baked goodies.

No-bake cookies, pineapple carrot nut bread, pumpkin bars, vanilla almond granola.

Bakery has nice variety of homemade pies, breads, cakes, cobblers, casseroles priced right. Super clean restrooms. So many yummy things besides cheese! Spices, jellies, snacks, noodles, pasta, pickles, fudge, samples, kitchen items, gift items, etc. Clean country-style restaurant with fast, friendly help, sandwiches, wraps, salads, ice cream and reasonable prices.

If you need vegan food prepared, catered, etc. this is a spot you should seriously consider. The service was great as well. Everyone there was kind and executed all aspects of the service very well. Each dish was well executed, seasoned and spiced just right, and everything was well balanced and paired nicely with each other. The mushroom preparations were so tasty. Wifey even liked it and she isn't into mushrooms that can't pull a rabbit out of a hat. The vegan cheezes were also a highlight. This is one of a very few places that offer vegan catering options at all and of those limited options, ironically enough, The Meat & Cheese show is one of the best. I highly recommend this spot for any event or meal for which one must provide non-omnivore options.

I still stock up on bargains at Costco and Sam's but I enjoy the deli and bakery at Fresh Market. They are several notches above delis and bakeries at most groceries. The employees are super friendly. This week, I had to return something and was impressed with how easy and pleasant it is to do that. I bought a bag of rotten lemons. That can happen at any grocery store. The lemons were in a yellow bag and not easy to see and they hadn't started smelling yet. With the mission to bring delicious prepared meals, exceptional quality meat and seafood, peak season produce, decadent baked goods, and fresh seasonal flowers, it certainly has succeeded its mission. The high quality and specialty products unfortunately also carry with it the higher price tags. The Fresh Market is among the most expensive of the high end markets. They have an Ultimate Loyalty Experience, but the cashier couldn't tell me the actual benefits. I think it's similar to Reasor's Rewards with weekly specials. They reportedly have the Tuesday specials (to be confirmed): ground chuck and boneless chicken breast for $2.99 per pound. They also have The Little Big Meal that rotates weekly. For those interested in cooking, they have many recipes on their websites which is unique. If you love the neatness and cleanliness of Reasor's then you are going to love The Fresh Market. I cruised through the store and was thoroughly impressed. Shelves and produce were neatly stocked. Deli products and meats looked really fresh. The quality was definitely there as well as the price tags. I am just not sure if I am the target audience of The Fresh Market, definitely gearing more toward affluent people.

A 2+ hour drive from OKC for lunch might sound like a commitment--but when a place has been on your…read moreradar for years, sometimes you just make the trip. That's exactly what we did to visit The Pioneer Woman Mercantile, and overall, it delivered a really enjoyable experience. The Experience We planned ahead and made online reservations (highly recommended), especially when you're traveling that far. We arrived about 30 minutes early, checked in, and spent some time browsing the retail shop. It's well-stocked with plenty of Pioneer Woman flair--fun to look around, even if nothing made it into our cart this time. We were seated right on schedule, and our server, Tatyana, set the tone immediately--friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. The Food Let's start with the surprise... Biscuits with butter & peach jam -- I'll be honest, I'm not usually a biscuit guy, but these were soft, warm, and downright addictive. Chicken Fried Steak -- This is what you come for. Crispy coating, tender inside, and covered in a rich, peppery gravy that hits all the right notes. Classic comfort food done right. Ribeye Steak -- Well-seasoned and cooked properly. My wife originally wanted a loaded baked potato (they were out), so she pivoted to loaded mashed potatoes--which turned out to be a solid backup plan. Side Salads -- Fresh, simple, and a good balance to the heavier entrees. Don't Skip the Bakery (Upstairs!) We passed on dessert at the table and headed upstairs--and this might have been the best decision of the day. * Pecan Pie Cookie -- Absolute standout. Rich, sweet, and unique. Don't leave without one. * Snickerdoodle & Iced Lemon Cookie -- Both excellent and gone quickly. Atmosphere The space feels exactly how you'd expect--warm, inviting, and comfortable with a touch of that signature Ree Drummond style. The lighting, decor, and layout all make it a place you don't feel rushed to leave. The Verdict Was it worth the drive? Yes. Would I do it again? Also yes--especially as a planned day trip. It doesn't quite hit that 5 level for me, but it's a very strong 4 experience with great service, solid food, and a memorable setting. @cheft_2469 Scorecard * Food: * Service: * Atmosphere: * Value: Pro Tips (Read Before You Go) * Make a reservation - This is a destination spot and fills up fast, especially on weekends. * Arrive early - Gives you time to browse the retail shop before your table is ready. * Skip dessert at the table - Head upstairs to the bakery instead... trust me on this one. * Get the Pecan Pie Cookie - Non-negotiable. It's the standout item. * Chicken Fried Steak is the play - If you're on the fence, this is the safe bet. * Have a backup side in mind - Items like baked potatoes can sell out. * Plan it as a day trip - Pawhuska isn't just lunch, it's the whole experience. * Go before peak tourist season - You'll enjoy it more without the heavy crowds. "Sometimes the best meals aren't just about the food--they're about the road trip, the experience, and who you share it with. This one checked all those boxes."

It's a great stop. We have been there multiple times throughout the years. To suggestions of course as you must go there to have their breakfast you will tremendously enjoy it their biscuits homemade fresh. You will truly love their biscuits. You most definitely have to try out their bakery. It's up the stairs, but I tell you one thing you are going to love it and regret it at the same time so many great options to choose from made fresh right there and you can even watch them make it and it's actually pocketbook friendly on their bakery items which I wasn't expecting. I was thinking it would be a little bit more pricey but I think about five or six items and spent less than 40 bucks in each item is a good portion size. Last thing I would suggest is make sure to see if they have any samples cause it doesn't hurt to ask and usually they do have samples coming out every hour or so so you could enjoy and even try it before you buy it So if you're here in that area, I suggest you stop in. You won't regret it. It'll be fun and a great place just to grab a goodbye to eat
