It's down a narrow sidewalk between two buildings. Dare to walk back there and you discover Collective! My brother ordered a black coffee and I had an iced vanilla latte. The server was polite and friendly, the barista quiet and focused on her craft. Both drinks were delicious, with a robust coffee flavor. There are a few chairs inside the shop, but it was a sunny early spring day so we sat in the small courtyard and caught up with each other. There, I saw that there is an entrance from the side street -- regulars seemed to enter from that direction. But I like the secret entrance between buildings better! We parked on a side street but there is a little lot in the area. No photos; was too busy gabbing. After, we popped in a couple thrift shops on the same street and then headed over to a salvage lumber yard/ hardware store. A good day for exploring.

I decided on the Purple Haze and chai muffin because they both caught my eye at the front counter. The Barista was kind and mindful, asking me for the correct spelling of my name as he took my order (bonus points for that). It wasn't a long wait for my order because I don't believe the regular morning crowd had arrived just yet. As I left and took that first sip...mmm mmm, I was blown away. Now I know some will say it's just coffee, but I will argue and say it's more than that. None of the ingredients were overpowering each other, and the taste of coffee itself wasn't overly present. It was just what I needed that morning. After I reached my office, before I dove into that heavenly muffin, I snapped a picture (sorry the drink was just too good). I enjoyed the chai in the muffin and am glad that small bites have been added to the menu to pair with the drinks. Black Coffee will be on my list to try other things on the menu as I start my new morning routine this summer walking to the office. It doesn't matter how many times I come through here, they never get it right. Today, I watched them put them sweet foam on the coffee, after being told it's with no foam, walk out of view and dump it out. Then hand me this. Clearly foam all over it. I have given them multiple chances and it's not worth wasting my money anymore on nasty coffee. Go to the Eastgate location. They are quick and coffee is always great.

Thin, flavorless coffee…read more I stopped in this morning for a large hot coffee. I also grabbed some donut holes on a whim. The donut holes tasted of boxed donuts. I ate one and that was enough. The coffee is thin and flavorless. Like they're putting in the least amount of coffee grounds needed for it to not be called brown water. The service was quick and the cashier was friendly. But their coffee is so cheaply made and flavorless that I won't be stopping in a Biggby Coffee again.
