I was not looking forward to trying to get someone to do a small repair instead of a large job. After looking around, the reviews for House Mechanics made them seem like a good choice for a quote. Richard was easy to reach, understood what I needed and was able to give me a ballpark price after I sent him a picture of the issue. He arrived when he said he would, did great work, did it for the price he had estimated earlier AND cleaned everything up. I know, that's weird for most experiences like this...right? Highly recommended and now I've got a couple of other projects in mind that I think might be a good fit for him. Thanks!

Working with this company was one of the most frustrating contractor experiences I've had, and I…read morecan't in good conscience recommend them to anyone. First, scheduling took over six months -- an unreasonable wait that set the tone for everything that followed. Communication was poor throughout; expect to wait more than 24 hours for a response and to have a hard time reaching anyone at all. The "crew" that actually performed the work was subcontracted out, which was never disclosed. They left a mess at the end of every workday and, once they finished, abandoned their leftover materials in our yard for more than a week. The result? Dead grass we now have to deal with. Worse still, the work itself caused a new problem that didn't exist before they arrived. It took over a month of chasing them down before they came back to fix their own mistake. This company fails on nearly every front -- scheduling, communication, cleanliness, transparency, and quality. Save yourself the headache and find someone else.
