We had Bone Dry out to work on our chimney - tuck pointing, lining the interior, and installing a stainless vent for our water heater. We're an hour away, and I had been trying to get local chimney sweeps and masons to come deal with our house for years. I'd get an estimate, and then no one would follow up. Bone Dry showed up when they said they would, did what they said they would do, were respectful to my house, property, and people, and cleaned up after they left. We had three different crews come through to address each phase of the work, and everyone was professional, friendly, and communicative. There were a couple of small bumps, but they handled them professionally and quickly. I was, all in all, very pleased with their performance. I'm a building professional myself, and very much appreciate what they do. They're good people, and did a very good job for me. Have used them 3 times. Initially for a roof repair after straight line winds caused damage to our original roof. Followed up a few years later by issues where moisture was entering our house through an access point and causing damage to our ceiling. They took partial blame for the situation and repaired things with partial charges. Most recently after a storm, they checked my roof and determined it was OK, but a rake board had come loose and the sales rep showed me a video verifying the need for repair. I consented. When they came to do the repair, it wound up being a simple 'nail back in place job', which was not what all I thought it would necessarily be. Combined with a single loose piece of siding that was also nailed back into place, I was charged $665 for a 10-15 minute job that required basically no materials. When I shared my concern that I felt the charge was excessive for the work performed, I was basically dismissed and charged the full amount. I realize I signed the contract, I simply didn't think the job warranted the full charge. I appreciate they got on a ladder and did work I wasn't comfortable or knowledgable enough to do, and felt a slightly lesser charge seemed to make sense for what they did. I would never recommend trying to do a full home renovation during a global pandemic, but who knew 2020- 2022 would be the shit show that it was causing my estimated timeline to finish to extend so far out. One of the hopefully last major renovations that needed to be done was the full exterior of my house. Highlights: + All projects were broken out into individual jobs (Roof/vents , siding, and gutters). Payment is due upon each project completion + Communication throughout from estimates to end. During each project, photos of job projects were sent throughout the day(s) of the teams progress. + Jobs were completed relatively fast (the roof was completed in a freaking day). Although mother nature and acquiring materials did cause a bit of delay though this was a bit expected and out of everyone's control. + Prices were reasonable, especially for the quality of the work and materials. Plus the roof has a nice 25 year warranty (but just make sure you schedule and maintain your 5 year checks). I definitely would recommend using Bone Dry and would use their services again. I'm just hoping I'm done with any major exterior repairs for at least a decade plus. read more

Bone Dry replaced my roof and siding back in 2007 after a bad hailstorm and they did an excellent job! 16 years later, and I've had no problems. Fast forward to 2023....A raccoon tried to move into my house by tearing off the trim on a second floor octagon window and pulling out insulation. I knew I needed to get that fixed quickly. And....then there was the woodpecker damage on the wood along the sides of my chimney....and the rusted chimney cap which I learned is called a "chase cover"...and then there was the peeling trim and soffits...oh, and the faded plastic shutters, 3 of which had fallen down and broken...and the cracked decorative piece around my front door...and a couple of cracked bricks....yeah, the "I should do something about that" exterior list had been getting long...so I guess thanks to the raccoon for getting me moving on all of this? The estimate for everything was very thorough, with all parts of each job itemized. The work I needed was broken down into several jobs with different divisions each with it's own project manager. Communication was consistently excellent from the main office and each project manager. I loved that they sent pictures of the work in progress. All of the work was done on the timeline promised with no hidden costs or surprises. The work was high quality and my house looks great! Home repairs are not cheap, but I mean, it's your house right? I'd rather pay a bit more to be sure the work is done right. BDR won't be the lowest bidder, but in my opinion, the prices were reasonable for the extent and quality of the work I had done. They don't cut corners. I'll definitely use them again when it's time to replace my roof or have any other exterior work done. read more

(FOLLOW UP to roofing/bathroom fan fix): Once the roofing work was done to my house, the bathroom fan stopped working. Upon closer inspection, I found that the vent pipe was reattached to the fan housing with screws. One of the screws went into the path of the fan blade, and thus disabled it. Once reported, a tech inspected the fan shortly after, and removed the screws to make the fan functional again until a replacement could get installed. A replacement install was scheduled a few days later. After a few technical hiccups, mainly a ground wire that appeared hot, a new fan was eventually given a proper install. Not only that, but when the bathroom GFCI outlet was apparently tripped, the tech took the time to get a replacement and installed it the same day. All work was done without charge. I commend Bone Dry for having workers that sure everything is remedied when a mistake is made. Many thanks to Andrew and Austin for their work and going the extra miles! read more

I had a new roof by a different roofer installed, but there was still a VERY small leak. Called Bone Dry to take a look. I told them the leak was most likely in the roof drain, and not the roof itself. They inspected it for about 5 minutes, then told me it the only way to fix the VERY small leak was to have the ALMOST NEW roof replaced. I had someone else come out, fix the leak in the drain, and the problem was solved. I saved over $10,000 by NOT using Bone Dry. Very unprofessional. Bone Dry's response to my Yelp review was just as unprosessional. Their response was 100% false. I was NEVER once informed of any repair. The ONLY thing that I was told was to replace the entire roof. Regardless, as my review states, there was NO leak in the roof, so the $2000 repair they "suggested" would have still be a waste...the leak was in the drain, not the roof, as I clearly informed their roofer, more than once. We had another local roofing company out for a repair quote and we're told that our roof had storm damage and would be replaced by insurance. I really wanted to use Bone Dry so I called them out for a repair quote initially. At that time the employee gave me a quote for repair without mentioning seeing any storm damage. I called them back out to do an inspection for replacement due to storm damage and he found no damage. Very confusing and disappointing. After returning to the first company and having my insurance inspector out it was determined that we had significant storm damage and our entire roof was replaced through insurance. They came out, covered the windows with plywood and the landscaping with plastic to protect it. They were polite, professional and sent me photos of their work at every step. I hate to even write a review so soon into a long term investment but I would absolutely recommend Bone Dry Roofing. Be aware, they are not the cheapest. If you're willing to cut corners or you're putting a roof on a rental property, you'll probably end up doing business with someone else. I could have used any of the other roofing companies around but I have a genuine sense that this company does quality work and doesn't take shortcuts. As with any major purchase, you need to do your research, get things in writing, stay on top of things when communicating with the company performing the work. Their sales associate was professional and showed up on time. At the time of this review, Bone Dry uses Owens Corning shingles and you can choose from their Oakridge or Duration shingles. I opted for the perfectly fine and less expensive Oakridge laminated shingles. The supplies were delivered the night before and the crew showed up early the next morning and had my old double layer roof off before lunch and the new roof on right around 5pm. The project manager stays In frequent contact and sends you pictures of the progress along the way. They did a pretty good job cleaning up after and you should expect to find a few roofing nails here and there it's not a big deal. You don't pay until the job is done and they also have some financing options available. This is a professional company. read more

We signed a contract on 6/20 to have a 18'x8' section of our flat roof balcony replaced and our railing removed, and re-installed. Today is 10/4 and they still are not finished. They are not responsive and don't seem a bit concerned. We call every morning and as always, someone will get back to us later. They took a month to schedule us, then started the job only to realize, whoops, we tore off the old roof but don't have the materials to complete the job and it will take a month at least to get that in. Why would you ever start a job without all the materials accounted for?!? Then when they got it in, they forgot other materials. They have been to our house 7 times for a 2 day job. They stated they could take down the railing, and reuse it, and then whoops, they can't reuse it and now we have to buy a new railing. But now they can't get back to me on getting that replaced. I am absolutely blown away at their lack of concern, and lack of professionalism. This has easily been the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and as a contractor myself, I would never in a million years recommend this company. read more

I had Bone Dry out to repair some shingles a few weeks back and they did a great job at a reasonable price. However, the shingles were not an exact match because my roof is a few years old. When I called about it. They immediately came out with new samples. I picked out a better match, and they quickly scheduled a time to replace those off color shingles with the new ones. So winter is the best time to find out you have a roof leak!! Had BoneDry come out to look at the roof luckily we haven't had a bad winter so far. He was able to see a couple places that may have been the issue. We were going to get just part of the roof fixed at this point. A few days later I noticed ceiling damage in another area of the house. They came back out and looked and then scheduled a water test. The water test is pretty much spraying water on the roof and using a thermo camera to see the leak. They said they normally charge for this but did it as a courtesy because we were already going to use them for the repair. They didn't even need the camera to see the leak. So considering the price to fix the roof over replace the whole roof, we did the whole roof. They found two decking boards that needed replaced as well as a ceiling joist out of wack. It took them about 10 hours total to rip off the old roof and replace everthing. They did a good job cleaning up they said they'd come back when the snow was gone to run their magnet over the ground to see if they missed any nails. They aren't cheap but they've been in business for years and seem fair. Every time someone was in the house he wore his mask. I didn't have to even talk to the crew before or after the job. We did financing so we can spread out payments with zero interest for a year. Hopefully no more roof issues for 20 plus years. read more

They don't trust their own workmanship, why should you? We relocated as a couple and purchased a house that roof was recently installed by Bone Dry. We felt peace of mind knowing that Bone Dry offered 10 year warranty on the workmanship. First negative sign was, house inspection report pointed out bad workmanship on multiple connection points of the roof. After couple schedules/reschedules, Bone Dry field team came in and fixed the issues. So far so good. About two years later, we got relocated again, so our house was put in market. We go through another inspection, and they found couple issues with the roof and chimney again. (This is 2.5 years after installing the new roof. Two inspection reports, two roof issues by inspectors.) Bone dry field team came, ruled out it is not roof but chimney. OK. Buyers wanted to make sure there is nothing wrong with the roof, which is fair. We were many times told by Bone Dry field team how they stand by their work and about 10 year warranty. So we called Bone Dry for warranty transfer. Confirmed that new buyers eligible by warranty, so we passed the message to buyers. About a week before close, we called again, asked for warranty transfer from for our house, so we can go to close. Again told no problem, it is coming on the way. Two days to close, my wife asked for email confirmation so we can share with the buyer's agent. Manager got on the call, and ensured no issues and we will receive the forms / email ASAP. Same day afternoon, some another person called from Bone Dry, claiming he is owner and can't do the warranty transfer because it is already transferred once. When we protest, saying we already confirmed three times with the office and multiple verbal confirmations with field, he got upset and start to talk he is the boss, and they don't know and buck stops at him and no warranty. In the end we give extra concessions to the buyers and close the deal. It was just an unpleasant experience with Bone Dry. But you have to ask yourself, if the owner doesn't trust their own workmanship, why should you? read more

This one's a doozy folks. Hired this company two years or so ago to make small repairs on my soffits. Which they did. But listen up. I signed a contract in 2022 soon after Ian last October for destroyed soffits and gutters. They were to start before Thanksgiving. Did not show blaming the storm on the other side of the state. Said they'd be there the following week. Did not show. Several weeks went by and they did not show after saying again it would be the following week. Finally in early January they show up, totally unprepared to work on a three story house. Said they'd return the next week. They had a lift delivered that would barely fit down our driveway let alone on either side of our house. The two clueless workers said they'd be back the next week properly prepared to work. Over two weeks goes by and after multiple phone calls a different pair shows up also totally unprepared to do the job. They too said they'd come back the following week with a usable lift this time. Indeed a week or two later another lift was to be dropped off and sure enough it was the same gol durn lift they had delivered the first time. WTF! How stupidly incompetent can one company be. Finally they said they were ordering scaffolding to do the job. Well Duh! It's already the second week in March and they have yet to do the job, apologize or communicate in any way. Unless your job is a simple job that a third grader could coordinate don't let them close to your property. read more

We had this company replace siding in a couple spots on our house. Good: they did the job well and in a reasonable amount of time. They were the lowest priced and most responsive out of 3 companies when we were collecting estimates and it wasn't close. We felt we had a good thing lined up. Bad: they did not communicate well when it come time to schedule the actual job. They showed up at our house when we were on vacation across the country. Then they told us that the job would be a bit more than quoted and we had to basically take them at their word. When we returned I do believe they were honest about that part, but I saved the worst (in my opinion) for last. THEY LEFT A MESS FOR US IN BOTH SPOTS OF OUR YARD! Old siding and paint chips, nails all over the ground, styrofoam packaging, you name it. Did our thousands of dollars apparently not include cleanup?
