16.00 lunch special
Steve M.

I have no idea how this place is so high rated stay away. It is not worth it. The customer service is horrible. The waitresses act like they are their held against their will. It takes 10 minutes to get seated. They act like it's a trouble to take your order. Bring your water get your food ordered. My spring rolls, when she brought them out the wrap around the vegetables. The rice paper wrap was bust open on them and said oh well that one busted open when I made it but there you go..... I had ordered a soup. It was supposed to come with limes. The lime was so dry. You couldn't even squeeze it to get any juice out of it. I don't know how they got it that dry. I've attached a picture. My girlfriend got a what was supposed to be a nine dollar lunch special but if you choose a meat it's more and she chose shrimp. It was supposed to be four dollars more. She got four shrimp for four dollars and I've attached a picture of those what ended up being $16 lunch special. It was pathetic. Do not waste your time or money at this placego somewhere else.

My family and I eat here on a regular basis and I would call it our favorite restaurant in town. Service is exceptional, the food is quality and consistent, I definitely feel it's the cleanest place in town as well. One of the gems of our community!

Seafood dish with shrimp, scallops, calamari and fish

I searched for vegetarian and this was the only place that I found within a 30 mile radius, so I decided to stop by. The menu had a variety of dishes that could be made with tofu, but I'm not big on tofu or any type of soy, so I opted out. I chose to get a seafood dish knowing that it probably wasn't the best idea. The restaurant itself isn't the nicest thing to look at, but I figured I'd take a chance. I decided to order a seafood combo that came with shrimp, scallops, fish and calamari. I wanted to ensure that it was spicy, so the waitress told me to pick a number between 1-6. I chose 3 because I didn't know how hot they make their dishes. I probably should have went with a 4 or 5. The food came out hot and fast. The flavor was just okay and it had a lot of sauce on the plate, so maybe the flavor was all in the sauce. The scallops and shrimp were pretty large, but I only had a few pieces of calamari and and small piece of fish (about a forkfull). After tasting the fish, I realized that it was catfish. The price wasn't bad at all for all the seafood combo and that should have been another red flag that I probably shouldn't have got the seafood from that place. Lets just say I paid for it in more than one way. The curry dishes may have had more flavor, but I wouldn't recommend the seafood dish.

If your new to Thai food, you must order Thai Iced Tea, or Iced Coffee!!! How do I know Mont Thai is authentic? I've been to Thailand about a dozen times in my life, and I married one of the most beautiful Thai woman about 21 years ago. She still looks hot like I eat my Thai food. We've never had a bad meal here! However, I eat my wife's great Thai food every week as well, so it is rare that we visit Mont Thai. My wife and I travelled a lot for my job, so we have eaten at some spectacular Thai restaurants in big cities, and in Phoenix some of our Thai friends owned restaurants across the valley. While Mont Thai is not at the top of the list for best Thai restaurants in America, for a Thai restaurant in Arkansas, it is very good, and would be hard to beat!!! I'm not sure why Sandy S. had such an average meal and review, it must have been an off night. Funny, the chicken satay that she liked best of all she ordered, I don't like so much as my wife's satay (chicken or pork) with peanut sauce and sweet pickled Persian cucumber and red onion are interstellar and very flavorful.

This is probably because they invest all of their energy into serving some pretty awesome food. I was thankful to be with an adventurous companion. We decided to try several different items. The fried tofu could have had a little more flavor, but it was crispy and the sauce was excellent. The egg rolls were also delicious. For the main course, we went with a mango special. The sauce was amazing! The seafood tender and juicy. I did note the rice was not true sticky rice, but I'm probably the only person who noticed this so.... The pineapple fried rice is absolutely amazing!! Juicy chicken toasty cashews and some tempura shrimp. We didn't have much leftover. The service will is reasonable given this is a small family restaurant. Adult kids working the dining room and running the food while the elders are in back serving it up! Pro tip: at the end of your meal, head up to the front counter to pay.

I'm not entirely…read moresure that I really scratched the surface of Thai food with my one meal but, for anyone looking a great, authentic meal, this looks like it may be the place! The first thing I noticed was the sign on the outside that said they were soon going to be closed for 3 weeks for a family vacation. That excited me, knowing now that I was walking into a family owned business. What you walk into is a small, but cozy, dining area - the sign on the wall says they can fit 44 people in there. We had a table reserved and thusly, did not have to wait. Throughout the dinner, I did notice customers waiting for both a table and for takeout and I'll say, it's worth the wait! We were served by a sweet lady, of whose name I cannot remember. She was very attentive to our group of 8 guests. We ordered 3 different appetizers: Veggie Spring Rolls, Steamed Dumplings and the Money Bags. I tried the Spring Rolls and Money Bags and though I wasn't the biggest fan, everyone else at the table enjoyed them (I likely would have enjoyed the Chicken Spring Rolls more!). Me not being the biggest fan reflects more on my pickiness than the quality of them as, like mentioned, everyone else really enjoyed them all. For my entree, I ordered from "Grandpa's Favorite Chicken" from the "Chef Special" category. My reasoning behind this order, of which no one else at my table considered was as follows: 1, it's chicken with a sweet and sour sauce! 2, it's on the "Chef Special" category which though it didn't have a description, I assumed meant that it's something the Chefs enjoy making. 3, it was starred on the menu which means that they recommend it - it was a great recommendation. My order came out in approx. 10-15 minutes with a side of white rice that I added on. The picture I have is after everyone at the table picked off a piece of chicken because of how delicious it looked. The portions were great, enough for two people that aren't starving. There was plenty of sauce - of which was very flavorful. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the rice did a great job at soaking up some of the extra sauce that was in the bottom of the plate. Overall, this meal was delicious! I would highly recommend to both locals who can go and try multiple different meals there and anyone who is just stopping through town. You won't be disappointed!
