Steve Knght was pleasant to work with at first, but then became very rude, unhelpful, and not honest about costs as time went on. I lived out of town and when his quote for counters came at a significantly larger cost then he originally quoted, would not help me find a suitable replacement for a rental and only guided me to places with no pictures to use. He then CHOSE the counters without my approval and was dishonest about the cost to put them in, asking me for an additional $6k months later that somehow "wasn't on the invoice". From speaking with others in Santa Barbara this is a typical experience. If you choose him, account for 150% or so of the price he quoted you initially. My tenant is also a handyman and was inspecting his crews work. He said he had to be on top of them to mount the cabinets correctly, and somehow storage space and cabinets just disappeared. If he hadn't been onsite I think it would have been very poorly constructed.

When I complained the owner aggressively defended his crew. Opposite of the customer is always right. They specifically agreed to put the new unit where I wanted it in the attic, I got NOTHING of the kind. They just stuck where it was easiest/quickest for them. When I balked, THE OWNER'S snap reply was that the person representing him at the time was no longer with them. Now it is almost impossible to access the furnace. They ran the furnace exhaust pipe to a completely different roof vent, again, one that was easier. The FILTER HOUSING was BOTCHED - they put in using sheet larger head metal screws that PROTRUDED INTO THE FILTER HOUSING such that the replaceable pleated filter's frame was crushed. An air diverter was put on the wall without using the new painted screws; instead they used fugly sheet metal screws AND screwed them in so tight the register doesn't set flat on the wall. Poor value for the money

It was determined after they were here about an hour, that being that we just had a new HVAC system put in a few months ago , with new insulation that something was spilled where the leak spots were in our bedroom ceiling. What can I say about Rick & his staff but excellent customer service. Professional staff. Thank You R& R Norman R. Blythe

I was referred to Crocker after having to deal with an HVAC contractor who did everything wrong,…read moretook shortcuts and ghosted me for weeks at a time. Crocker came out and inspected my HVAC system. A few days later I received a phone call from Jim who wanted to personally come out and take a look at things - no charge. Jim walked me through the HVAC system, pointing out what was incorrect and what needed to be done in order to fix the issues and be up to code. Crocker was on time, efficient, and made sure I understood the work that needed to be done. Now everything is working as expected and no issues so Im very happy with the results. Thank you!

This company will make you bankrupt! I called them for a tune up of our AC unit in March and they…read moresent a technician who made the system work after changing numerous parts. The total bill was nearly $900. We did not use the system until June and discovered that it did not start. I suspected a failure of one of the numerous parts that were replaced and anticipated that the warranty for the parts would cover the service call. Their technician came in the morning and started to replace some of the same parts that were installed three months earlier. He also replaced a motherboard, contactor, coil (both were brand new), and took apart the unit covers and the thermostat. After four hours, the technician declared that he had to stop as he was to miss his lunch time. As he was leaving, he mentioned that the problem was a short in two wires ... and that the blower motor fried during his testing procedure. He never bothered to reinstall the covers or the thermostat. The bill for his "service" is $1,000. When the technician left, the AC was in worse shape than when he arrived, and Crocker expects me to pay to make my system inoperable. If you want to have Crocker come to destroy your system, bill you for unneeded parts in the hope that you will install a new system, then Crocker is who to call. Otherwise, save your money and call an HVAC business that is not a crook.

When I arrived, there was nobody there, but by the time I left, there were three or four staff busily working the phones and warehouse. During this visit they: 1. inspected three fire extinguishers I brought in and agreed to recycle them for me (they are all very old;) 2. sold me a top quality fire extinguisher (used model) at a great price, and; 3. Filled a new 5-pound C02 tank that I am using to make carbonated water. I am too cheap to buy a soda stream (they also fill those!) and purchased a carbonation system that ought to last me many decades. These friendly Nargan employees could all be cast as the handsome fire captain in an action film. I don't think I'll allow my first-responder-loving wife to go near this place. One of the great things in life is small, local businesses that stay on top of their game and last for decades. Well done, Nargan -- it was a gas.
