We purchased a 2004 GMC Yukon April of this year, with $1300 down. Payments to be $200 every two weeks. We came by to check it out a week or two prior to purchasing, as we wanted to be sure we found something dependable. Instead, we have found ourselves stuck with the most problematic vehicle we've ever purchased, complicated further by a clear unwillingness to rectify or be fair on the part of Mr. Durani and staff. Let me try to briefly summarize....
-second day home had to buy new back tire (no big deal)
-one week later the brakes start GRINDING!!!! Not squeaking just straight to the grinding!! (again not too big of a deal) Hubby bought and replaced both front and back brakes.
-Oh we discovered on day one that the radio powered on as it did at first look, but til this day remains "locked" because it's a factory radio for a totally different make/model vehicle. But again......all tolerable issues really.
-4 weeks in and AC not working, notified them when stopped by to make a payment, just kind of brushed it off saying probably needs more freon, so we buy an expensive can of freon over the weekend, still no AC.
-5 weeks in, my husband's first day on a new job and the Yukon will not start!! Took some pushing but Chuck (with Durani Auto Sales) agrees to have it towed from our house back to them to be fixed.
- I work downtown, husband in Brentwood, 15 yr old at Hillsboro High-school and the other in middle school....somehow we got us all where we needed to be for the next week using my little 95' Blazer. Very stressful!
- No communication from them during this time as to the status of the Yukon unless we called first and no one really knew what the status was when we did.
- The following week we are now frustrated. My husband calls. Chuck answers, says the usual..."still waiting on a part." As he begins to tell Chuck how hard this has been with just one vehicle Chuck cuts him off and says "Come Get It then!!" AND HUNG UP ON HIM!!!!
- The following day we speak to the younger Mr. Durani who was the first person to acknowledge the inconvenience this has placed on us and offered apologies saying compressor should be in tomorrow. He was kind and a breath of fresh air.
- Over the next few weeks the Yukon runs well and AC works the 2 or 3 times we needed it but now the engine light is on and we cannot properly tag the vehicle because it will not pass vehicle emissions testing!!!
- Presently we've had this Yukon a little over two months. My husband goes to Durani Auto Sales yesterday to make our scheduled payment and calmly expressed our frustration again!!
- He tells the older Mr. Durani their AC is again not working and it has been ssooooooo hot these past few days but even worse, the drive out tags have expired and we cannot get it to pass VET to get tags!!!!
- Mr. Durani proceeds to tell my husband there is nothing they can do....after some persistance he says drop it off Thursday and we'll look at it but that it's really not his problem. My reluctantly agrees but tells him we can't be without the vehicle for several days again....also not their problem. He asks if we can just trade it for something else on the lot that's more dependable? Mr. Durani says "yes but you will have to put more money down.".... Feeling defeated, we make the $200 payment and leave.
We are reasonable people. We realize this is a used vehicle on an "As-is" warranty. But after putting $1300 down, some of our own money towards minor repairs, plus the $200 bi-weekly note....we neither expect or have the money to address engine and AC issues.....and so soon!!! I mean we've only had it little over two months!!!! This is just bad business!! Things happen...we understand this...but how it's handled makes all the difference and would certainly have made a difference in my rating on this review.
To date, there has been only that one kind apology from the younger Mr. Durani and a consistent reluctancy to help or just be fair from everyone else.....no apologies, no offer to compensate for all the inconvenience this has caused us.
We shouldn't have this many issues so soon. We should be able to properly tag the vehicle and we should have working AC because we went a week without the vehicle so they could fix it!!!!.....
The fight to get them to even address an issue is exhausting and the way the "pour salt in the wound" by, not only NOT apologizing or compromising, but even being rude and dismissive....is sad and disheartening to say the least....... read more
