I always look for the Durango Dawg. They are fabulous! This is the place to go for a great hot dog! Sherri is worth the search.

So me and the family always hit up the food trucks at this corner. But we've never seen The Box…read more Oh my gosh!!! Wow! You have to try it! I ordered a Capri Salad with Chicken, it had arugula, mixed greens, Granny Smith apples, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, pine nuts aka Piñons, seasoned goat cheese and honey balsamic vinaigrette !!!! This salad had all kinds of flavor, the dressing was soooo savory, I could probably sip it on its own. The apples were sweet, fresh and crispy, while the Piñons were the perfect touch, a little tiny, but good! However, I am a big goat cheese fan and whatever seasonings they put on those slices, do not change a thing! It gave this refreshing test and an earthy vibe.... One thing though, the chicken was a tiny bit dry but all the flavors complimented each other, so don't be scared!! I also ordered a Mandatory Pizza, most definitely living up to its name. Tomatoes, mozzarella, sausage, fig, Piñons, fennel and arugula! I could definitely do without the arugula, there was enough left over to make another Capri salad, but it was definitely aesthetically pleasing. But don't let that leave you with a bad taste, because that pizza had the perfect amount of sausage, fig, cheese and Piñons. If you had a Margherita pizza before, the Mandatory is a Margherita level 100!!

We encountered "The Box" on another outing in downtown Durango and was really happy with the pies…read morewe ordered. Located in a communal food truck area, bringing real wood fired pizza to the mobile restaurant world. Crust was nice and crispy, chewy, and with just the right amount of char to remind you that this was cooked in fire. Ordered the engineer and the Mesa Verde whose ingredients were craftily chopped and placed around the pie as that every bite would represent the whole was appreciated. This would be the second and third great pie I've had in Durango so they must be putting something in the water down here.

This joint absolutely deserves 5 stars! The burgers were delicious, and they had a good selection…read moreof options, We ordered the Cowboy and the Rodeo, and loved them both so much that we actually had to go back for seconds and grab a couple burgers for the road! (We stopped in Durango for a short period of time on a roadtrip) This was also the first time I've ever seen "frings" on a menu, it's just a mix of fries and onion rings and it was perfect because I wanted both and couldn't decide. The onion rings in particular were phenomenal. I also loved the little street-side dining area. It was a great spot to enjoy the meal outside and get some fresh air. The service was friendly and helpful, and they answered all of our questions with honest recommendations. I also like that you can order from an iPad if there's a line and you already know what you want. Definitely a place I'd recommend and happily come back to!

Famburger is a humble little spot in Durango. After a long day on the road with our two-year-old,…read morethis was the type of place we needed! Seating is all outdoors. Most of it is covered with booths or high tops, then there are tables on the sidewalk with umbrellas. I make a note of this because we were here around 5/530pm and the sun was absolutely brutal. Not only for us, but for the employees too. The menu is a throwback to yesteryear. Think burger and shake shack on the beach. My pictures may not look like much. Sure, they aren't huge burgers, but they do have good flavor! I had the bacon cheeseburger and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. These were both good, and I might even give the edge to the latter. It's got that fast food nostalgia, but with better ingredients and none of the artificial taste. I snuck a few bites of the fries and they were good and crispy. I like that they serve beer, and since it was vacation I opted for a local Ska Brewing IPA. Won't put a dent in your wallet and it'll deliver what you really want to eat. Famburger, you got a fan right here!
