Tho the absolute standout for me was the Upper A Imperial Red! Staff is great, friendly and even the regulars will have beernerd level convos! Food is also awesome! They serve Pasties (pronounced "pas-tee") here...if you don't know what they are, they are basically caucasian empanadas and can go savory or sweet. I ordered FOR THE BIRDS "Beer roasted chicken, applewood bacon, potato, carrot, scallions, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. Served with sarsaparilla BBQ & ranch", and yes it was as delicious as described! Come hungry + thirsty and leave content!

Both wines were perfect choices: big but balanced for the Cab Sav and slightly sweet for the Rose. So good. We took home a bottle of each - how could you not with their fabulous pricing? And since it was a Friday, they had live music from a great Celtic band, Tom Ward's Downfall. Such a cute place as well. Friendly folks, lively tunes and fabulous wine. Thanks for a lovely stop.

So what else do you do when you get into a new city? I don't know what you do, but we hit up the liquor store. Upper East Side did not disappoint. My husband found his holy grail bourbon, which is not found where we live in SC. But wait, one bottle per customer. So guess what, we frequented Upper East Side a few times before we left Durango. We had to reorganize our luggage. But we left happy. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We loved Durango. By the way there are many liquor stores in the area. We stopped at a few others but UESL had the best prices. See ya in the spring!!!

The place has cleaned up a lot and though it appears a little rough around the edges on the outside, the interior is quite charming. The Owners Jay and Gin are some of the warmest and nicest people. It is a true family owned and operated business that has a really nice and friendly staff that is employed there now. I stopped shopping there years ago because of a rude owner. Place is clean and friendly now. I live nearby so it is nice to be within walking distance! If you haven't been in there lately, stop in. They have a great selection of wines that are priced well. I ordered a fancy bottle of Dom Perignon from them last year for Christmas. Their selection is not huge but the owners certainly do accommodate if you have a special request. They really seem to cater to "Local" companies also and have a lot of Colorado products. It's a great small family owned and operated business and they certainly earned my business again!

The line was super long when we arrived and we waited about 20 minutes to order. His family said it was the longest they've ever seen it. I ordered the Mushroom Belford Burger, medium well, with no onions. My partner got the same but with the onions and cooked medium. The rest of our group each got the Signature Burger, medium rare. We also split two orders of large fries. My partner got a root beer and I got a cherry cream soda. Everything was delicious! It was absolutely worth the wait. My burger was more towards well done than medium well, which is something I see a lot and I think I'm just going to start ordering medium any time I get a burger now. It was juicy and delicious, and the rosemary garlic aioli was delicious! The fry sauce was also some of the best I've had, and we left the cup scraped clean. The fries tasted fresh and were well-cooked. My partner said the root beer was great and my cherry cream soda was delicious. I had gotten a small and I was contemplating going back to order another in a large, it was that good! All of the employees we interacted with were super friendly. It was a bit of a struggle to find a table outside just because of the holiday weekend, but we found a perfect table that fit all of us under a tree. We took a little walk by the pasture and read the info signs after dinner which was a great way to end the evening. This place is fantastic and well worth the wait! It is pretty expensive (we paid about $146 after a 20% tip) so it may be better for special occasions, but it is all so fresh and pure that it's very much worth the price you pay. My partner and I don't live in Durango but his family does, so I'm hopeful we will be back the next time we visit.
