Absolutely horrible experience. Do not do business with these guys. Andrew the grandson is very polite but very messy and unprofessional work. Finger prints all over the walls and glass. The install was an absolute disaster. He came back 4 times to try to fix everything and still half the windows have problems. From not locking to plastic tracks coming off and even a brand new window letting in a good amount of rain water. Shotty job as some windows are not even and to compensate they started cutting vinyl all jagged to allow clearance for the windows to slide. Vern the old man is delusional as he started off very nice but then sent a nasty text message when I wouldn't pay 100% because the whole job was not finished to a normal operating expectation. Again stay away and you're much better off spending market value for a product that actually works.

I desperately needed a new front door, after several calls I selected Durable Wndows and Doors. Although I had to wait a substantial amount of time to receive my door, a victim of the current shipping delays , I couldn't be happier with my New front door. I knew that the installation of the new door would be a challenge, but I think the difficulty of the job was well past what any of us expected. Thank goodness for Tim and Andrew. Tim and Andrew arrived and immediately assured me of the care they would take due to Covid. They wore masks and were vaccinated which I appreciate. They seem to be a great team working together, professional, capable and very friendly. I have experienced other contractors who start off friendly but when the job gets tough the mood changes, not with these two. They never complained they just continued working and did what needed to be done so that I would have complete satisfaction. It took them a lot longer because of the complexity of the job. They were not deterred, I really love that. I highly recommend Durable Windows and doors, especially the work of Tim and Andrew. I will mention that if your schedule is tight you may want to get specific about scheduling the exact appointment time. Overall Durable gets five star review, thank you.

New window in West LA triplex.

Andrew and his team installed 7 new windows in our West alps Angeles triplex, replacing 80-year old single pane windows with brand new double-pane windows. They were rather quick and kept the work very clean. Great customer service too boot. Thanks for driving all the way out to West LA!

I had been looking to replace my back door and had been getting the run around from major home improvement stores. I took a chance and picked durable. It's a family run business which you don't see much any more. They came out and did measurements for the door. I gave my deposit right then and waited a few weeks for them to call me to let me know My door was available for install sooner than I anticipated. The door was installed and I am so happy I picked them it looks so good. I will be using them again for my interior door replacement and my sliding glass door

Tim and Vern are great! They came highly regarded, and lived up to the referral and then some. They got the job done, and were reasonably priced. Note that like many, given Covid supply chain and business drama that most all people are facing, there were some bumps in the road re the window order, but everything worked out perfectly. Just be patient These guys pay close attention to detail and want you to be happy. Super kind humans that do great work. I highly recommend them. Way better than the larger companies that try to take advantage of you. Many of the quotes were astronomically high. So glad we went with these guys, we highly recommend them.

(This review includes a response to the business owner's reply)…read more I had a deeply disappointing experience with Paul's Windows, and I want to share it so that other homeowners know what to expect before working with this company. I reached out for a small bedroom window replacement and had one key requirement: that the new window, once installed, provide a minimum clear opening height of 13 inches. The sales associate, Art, confirmed via text that the manufacturer (Crystal Pacific) said it would: 13.1875", in fact. That was fine by me. But when I asked for that specification to be confirmed in the contract, in writing, Art refused. Let me be clear: I wasn't asking for a personal warranty on the product. I simply wanted confirmation that the installed window, as ordered and managed by Paul's Windows, would meet the functional requirement I had clearly communicated. Art repeatedly deflected, referring to "what the manufacturer said," but was unwilling to take responsibility for the result. When I asked for accountability, he became dismissive and eventually walked away from the job. I contacted Paul directly, hoping for a more professional response. Instead, I received a generic brush-off and a claim that the window wouldn't meet the specs, which contradicts what their own sales associate had already confirmed. Worse, Paul didn't acknowledge or engage with any of the valid concerns I raised around basic customer service, transparency, or professional responsibility. Ultimately, I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was hiring a company to manage a job and deliver a specific result. If something went wrong, say, the manufacturer provided a window that didn't meet the spec, it would be on the contractor to resolve it, not on me to go chase down the supplier. That's what any responsible company would do. But Paul's Windows made it clear they don't see it that way. If you're okay with vague communication, contractors who won't stand behind their own work, and potentially being left to deal with problems on your own, maybe this company is fine. But if you want clarity, professionalism, and accountability in writing, then look elsewhere. § Paul's response below is a classic damage control move -- polite on the surface, but full of deflection and quiet rewriting of events. To clarify: the window in question would have met the required 13" clear opening. That wasn't in dispute. Art, their sales associate, confirmed that in writing and was fully prepared to proceed with the job -- until I asked for a simple written accountability. That's the moment everything fell apart. Paul's follow-up misrepresents the timeline and sidesteps the core issue -- not whether the window would fit, but whether the company was willing to stand behind the result they were being paid to deliver.

After signing the contract the windows were ordered and arrived in about 3 weeks. The installation team worked quickly and Art was there to see it complete. Retrofitted the windows to fit in my existing frames to avoid having to work on the wall. Added the grids to match the style of the old windows since I have a condo and HOA would probably have an issue if not everyone's windows matched since it's a shared building.

It was clear it was time for a replacement. Before choosing James, I got a quote from a very popular windows and doors company in Orange County. James, the owner of Lucero's Windows and Doors, not only offered the best price but was also extremely responsive. He mentioned that he previously worked as a Home Depot installer, which gave me confidence that he was properly trained. I was initially cautious because of the low number of reviews, but the consistent perfect scores from other customers made me optimistic. Now, after working with him, I can confidently say that Lucero's Windows and Doors is the real deal. Because our home required a custom-sized door, James came out twice to take measurements. After about two weeks, the custom entry door arrived, and he completed the installation in a single day. He told me our home was one of the oldest he's worked on, and the walls were very different from newer builds. Despite the challenges, he made everything fit perfectly, and the final result looks fantastic. We no longer feel a draft under the door, and it swings smoothly without any issues.

I found The Affordable & Licensed Handyman through Yelp because they had great reviews so I was interested to see how much their service fee would be for a simple job when I was looking for a plumber. I needed a license plumber due to home insurance requirement to do this installation or I would've done it myself. They were responsive when I talked to them through Yelp projects. I was shocked with how much I was quoted because it was almost double the price of the automatic shut off valve device I paid for. So I had to confirm that the price that was given to me was just to switch out the bad unit with the new one. They didn't have to do anything else like run new pipes or replace anything else. When I communicated to them that the quote was high, they asked how much did i wanted to pay. I thought they would try to be more reasonable since the name is The Affordable. I give them a range based on the prices from other plumbing company that I reached out to and they couldn't do it which I understand they can set their own prices. Maybe for big projects, they'll give more of a reasonable price which is why they have great reviews on Yelp but just to replace a bad automatic shut off valve with a brand new one, I think it was overprice so I used another plumbing company where they were very reasonable on the price.
