Recently one of my 17 year old Somfy motors that control my motorized shades died. My electrician recommended Dunn Right Blinds because they are familiar with my home automation system, and he has clients who had used them in the past. Dunn returned my call the same day and gave me a very fair quote. Within two days they replaced the defective motors (not easy because of the custom housing they were in). Thankfully they were able to use the existing shades and now everything is as good as new. I suspect I will eventually replace the rest of my motorized shades and I will definitely call Dunn. read more

Amazing service! They worked all afternoon to make sure my old Hunter Douglas motorized drapes worked. Highly recommend.

Shane is awesome. No one else could help me with repairing large vertical blinds. I had several people out and they never fixed them correctly--although they did charge more money. Shane immediately knew what the problems were, had the parts on hand to repair it on the spot, did it quickly and at a very reasonable price. Plus he's a nice guy, easy to work with, and a fast response. Highly recommend Shane and Dunn Right. I wouldn't call anyone else. read more

You are wasting your time if you call Dunn Right to repair your blinds. They promise to repair you blinds the day you call out on the day after, but they actually never show up. I called them three times and got a promise to fix our blinds that day or the next and never heard a word after. They just don't show up. read more

Moving is usually awful and buying a home in Palm Springs in the current market, while a privilege, usually involves paying far too much for too little, and will need more work than you ever imagine... The elderly population is big on deferred maintenance! When we finally found a home, built in the 60's, it came without any window coverings so we started the absolutely dreadful exeperience of opening our home to salespeople from every window shade company under the sun, pun intended, even one of the Costco vendors. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. The Shade Store wanted over $10 for 7 windows, all the cheapest or lowest cost version, in every way. 3-Day Blinds is an absolute scam, in our opinion, for any "expedited service" you will need to likely sell a kidney or other organ to pay for them. The list goes on... Oh, and they all told us that the coverings we wanted couldn't be done the way we wanted. One of our windows is large and they all wanted to do it in three sections, leaving ugly seams in the glass allowing people to peek in. Then, through the grace of the pros we used for our home inspection, we found Shane at DunnRight. To say the experience was anything less but perfect would be a crime, Shane was fast, easy to talk to, made himself available at almost any day or time to talk about our concerns, and came in with a bid that was close to 60% less than out lowest bid. On top of that, even our large window was done perfectly in one large section, exactly how we wanted it. The best part, it tool about 10 days from start to finish. The other arrogant, obnoxious, overpriced companies, including Costcos vendor, all wanted more than 8 weeks. That would be A LOT of the neighbors watching us walk around naked. On top of that, they all insisted their own opinions about what we wanted and made us feel terrible about our choice. Shane did everything we wanted, made excellent suggestions - all of which we followed. We have never been happier with a home improvement vendor. HIGHLY recommend. read more

I would rate him excellent but after fixing sun shades he said he would return after Christmas! He ordered a gear for a sun shade. He never returned! As I said, what he did was excellent! I would have him return with gear anytime because he is so good! I am sorry he probably was so inundated with requests for help that he could not get back to me! read more

In our communications, Shane appeared very responsive and friendly. We had made arrangements for Shane to fix a shade of ours during our busy work week. Shane did not appear for his scheduled visit and did not respond to any communications when we attempted to follow up. While we had booked with Shane knowing that previous reviews also mentioned this no-show behavior, it unfortunately occurred with us too. Luckily, we saw another reviewer had mentioned K&D Valley Blinds being incredibly responsive and friendly. We followed suit and had an amazing experience with that vendor instead. read more

Shane and his team were amazing! Shane is very responsive. He was willing to come out to a house I didn't own yet and do measurements and give me a quote. The job was not "done right". I have a horizontal honeycomb blind with loop cord that needed new loop cord and a cover for the gear so the loop cord does fall out. $125 to install $2 loop cord. He did not have with him nor order the cover...I could've done that myself, I wanted to have the cover so it is PROFESSIONALLY installed. When he invoiced me I politely confronted him that I expected this to be a complete job since it was extremely simple and inexpensive to fix and he charged for a fix and told me it would be fixed...he said he'd order the cover and get to me....i texted him to follow up...he did not respond. I waited 24hrs....wildly unprofessional for how incredibly simple the job was. read more

Contacted 2 days ago (Monday) and was told by Shane that he'd be here Tuesday. I didn't hear anything but woke up to a voicemail on Wednesday saying he'd be here today. I waited around until 5.20 then called as I'd heard nothing to be told "I'll be there tomorrow". Seems to be a consistent theme with repair people here in PS. Worse than pathetic service. read more

Shane Dunn from Dunn Right Blinds did a great job for us at our La Quinta house. Several of our wood blinds and shutters were loose, and some of the magnetic connectors had become brittle and broke off. I called Shane, and he responded the same day. He was on time and got to work very quickly. Several minutes later, he had serviced all of the blinds and made the necessary repairs. Based on Shane's quick response, professionalism, and quality of work, I was expecting to pay a bunch for this type of service, but I was pleasantly surprised. He charged me a very reasonable price, which made my day. Dunn Right Blinds is now our go to company for blinds and blind repairs. Thank you Shane! read more

Of the five vendors who assessed my broken sun shade, Mr Dunn was the ONLY one who was honest and able to repair it for me. The other four gave various reasons why it needed to be replaced ($5k) instead of repaired ($250). I called and within 48 hours Mr Dunn was here and repairing my shade. I am beyond amazed by his knowledge and skills and I love that this is a local family run business. I'm so so thankful for you, Mr Dunn. read more

I needed upgrades to two large (8'x8' and 6'x8') west-facing window shades, some repairs, and relocation of an existing shade. I contacted Dunn Right Blinds and got a quick response. Shane and Ryan came to my home to go over my needs and make suggestions as to available products. We decided on double 1% solar shades on one window, and to add two panels of top-down/bottom-up cell shades for the other windows. The estimate came back with good prices, and Shane had the materials ready to install in a week. The installations by Shane and Ryan were done with professional efficiency, and no glitches. I am totally satisfied with the look and the quality of the new shades, as well as the relocation and repair of the others. Shane and his people were responsive, polite and friendly throughout the process. I would definitely use Dunn Right Blinds for any future window treatment needs. read more

I can't say enough good stuff about Shane Dunn owner of Dunnright Blinds . I am a former Hunter Douglas widow covering manufacturers rep (for 20 years) and an interior designer. Once upon a time I had a lot of connections and interactions with widow covering installers. But alas, I am retired now and my connections are gone, (it hurts when you lose that) so I had to go to the Internet. I called Shane first and he quoted his service call fee and was available that afternoon, but my tenants weren't home so I had to wait to schedule. In the mean time, I called another company to compare and they were $50 more just for showing up. And then I found Dunnright's Yelp reviews. All stellar! Even after an old boss sent me a referral I decided to go with Dunn Right because of the reviews. He went out right away the next afternoon after receiving my text in the morning. Turns out the blind I was sending him to repair wasn't even broken as the tenants thought. It didn't take him long to determine that, and he let me off the hook for the charge, which he didn't have to do. But being and knowing the industry as I do, that is top notch business practices and integrity. 100% he should be your go to call for window coverings. He's now in my phone permanently for the desert areas. Thank you Shane. Claudia Crawford-Downes read more

Fantastic. Timely. Friendly. Professional. I called and asked for a quotes for blinds in whole house, with motors. They showed up with material samples to place against the window and the furniture for color and transparency. We ended up going with two different transparencies in the dining room because of how it faces and they all are fantastic. Even though they quoted the whole house, they let me break it down by room to fit my budget. Frankly, they provided great quality and value. In the end, I had them come back three times to fit out more windows. Every time they were friendly, professional, and fast. Sometimes they had the blinds in less than a week! I would definitely use them again and recommend them. read more

We had contacted several companies in our area seeking either repair, or replacement of several window blinds in our home. After talking with 3 other companies, finding they could either not do what we envisioned, or were horribly expensive, we continued our search onto Yelp. Family run Dunn Right Blinds had great reviews, so we gave them a call. Shane Dunn and his son came out quickly to take a look. Courteous, professional, and extremely knowledgeable, they showed us the issues, and the many options we might have. We asked for a quote, so they measured on the spot, showed, made recommendations, and texted us a quote within a couple hours. Very fair and reasonable for what we were to get. We placed our order on a Friday morning, and the following Thursday afternoon were enjoying our new shades. And we love them. The question asked is, would we call them again? Answer: we will absolutely call Dunn Right Blinds the next time we have a need, and we will highly recommend them to anyone who wants to know. read more
