I couldn't remember the name but the employee was able to help me find the correct name and make me the right color. Who would've known the name was CHAMPAGE. Haha and I like drinking that as well. A friend told me about a free color design service offered at Dunn-Edwards so I thought I'd give it a try. To be honest, I came in with mild expectations considering that it's a free service. When I first met Clint Roy, the color consultant for DE, I knew right away that I was talking to a true professional with an eye for detail and design. He understood what I was going for and steered me towards colors that I could mix and match. He also steered me away from trends that didn't fit the character of my house. Clint provided me with multiple renderings so I could decide on color placement and hues. He was so responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. Having him guide me through the whole process was such a valuable experience and to top it off, the service is free of charge. Incredible!!! DE paint comes in a variety of quality. I'm sure you can find one that matches your needs and budget. Most of the painters and contractors I worked with use DE paint. This location is also clean and nice. Do not shop here! First, their prices are outrageous. But, more importantly, they're not nice. I was the only person in the shop when I placed my order, for 1 quart of paint. The tint guy had other orders lined up on the counter but no one there to pick them up, so I thought he'd mix mine, then continue with these "future" pickups. But, no, he insisted on doing them in chronological order, no matter how long it would take to get to my order. When I asked him where mine was in the queue, he refused to tell me. He said he'd have to look at another screen, and he just wouldn't bother to do that. What a jerk! I had to buy there to match a prior paint for a touchup job on my condo. I really have to give a shout out to Ernesto at this location. I had to touch up a wall in my garage but I did not have the paint code for the color in my garage and my contractor could not be reached by phone (not surprising two years later). However, I was able to provide the Ernesto with the contractor's business name and he allowed me to access the invoices around the time of my project so I could figure out which color it was. I eventually found the right invoice and was relieved I didn't have to resort to a color match. Thanks again Ernesto! You were a lifesaver! read more

Worst customer service I've received in a long time. I gave them the info of the paint company I'm working with. Name, address, and phone number. All I got was mmmm....not finding it...over and over. I know for a fact they have it as I've used the painting company before. Not sure what their problem was. They made no effort to help me. After we purchased the two different colors of exterior paint and picked the paint up, we completed the project. A few days later, Clint emailed us to see which color we actually went with for our door and exterior of the house. I explained that all went well. He asked if we can send him a picture or two of the finished color products (front door and the rest of the house). After sending him some pictures, he gave us his approval of how the exterior of the house turned out. We used this location to get paint for our entire home. The people there were very helpful. This was 2 years ago. I lost the list of colors we used, so I went back with the label from one paint can to see if they could track that whole order. And they did! I now have a list of all the paint colors used in our home for future reference and some touchups I need to do now. More specifically, Brian Edwards did. He was incredibly helpful. I've only ever written one Yelp review before, but this just needed to be said: Bought some paint over the weekend, but wasn't happy with the color (it turned out much brighter than it looked on the swatch). Went back the next day and met with the most unprofessional manager ever - this older gentleman had an incredibly rude, abrasive, and condescending tone, displayed a great deal of impatience, and made me feel completely helpless. I even overheard the other customer in the store complaining about this same lousy attitude. But thanks to JUAN (the paint mixer), my day was saved. If this review were solely for Juan, it would have gotten five stars from me in a heartbeat. He went out of his way to try to find the best solution for me. He went above and beyond in trying to help me and made me feel hopeful that my purchase had not been in vain - exactly the way that I would expect to be treated as a customer who had invested in a pricey product and experienced some dissatisfaction with it. I went to Dunn Edwards because my apartments required a certain paint only offered here . When I arrived I was greeted by Brian. So happy Brian helped me because I know nothing about paint . After holding almost 10 minutes I hung up and called the orange store. I guess they think they have all the business they need. My parent's painter had purchased $800 of paint and related supplies here. We had two unused patch items and wanted to return for store credit and the manager Kinh Tran REFUSED to return for us saying that the receipt belonged to our painter (whom we had reimbursed) and the credit would go back to him and he is unable to give us store credit for $5 for the two items. He had a very harsh attitude towards my parents and I. Lo and behold we went to the Costa Mesa location and they were awesome and helpful and were able to provide us store credit. If you look at their store policy they say that they are able to provide store credit for unused items. I will be reporting this location to the corporate office as his attitude was unacceptable and did not provide us adequate customer service. read more

My aunt is an Interior Designer so she helped me choose some colors for my new place. The samples she gave me were from Dunn Edwards so I decided to use them. I could have gone to Home Depot or Lowe's and got just about the same color but the quality of paint is so different. Dunn Edwards paint is very nice high quality paint. Even when I used the samples I bought you could feel the difference in the paint quality. But with quality paint comes a higher price tag. read more

The customer service here is horrible! I needed to buy about $150 dollars in paint and knew exactly what I wanted. So I thought I could run in really fast and buy the paint. Well... I was wrong. It was a hot day and I happened to have my dog with me so I had to bring him in with me. By the way I'm not normally a person who brings there dog everywhere. And he is a small 10 lb dog. Well after waiting for 15 minutes the first person that actually says anything to me is the manager. Who walked in from doing absolutely nothing outside. Watching me stand there for 15 minutes. and he tells me I have to leave because I have a dog. I explained its a hot day and I can't leave him in the car and I just needed paint and knew exactly what I needed. He said he didn't care and I had to leave. So I said I guess you won't be getting my business. He said okay. I was shocked. As a person in the costumer service industry I would never treat a customer like this. I'm usually a home depot paint girl but I got a groupon and figured I try this place and see if it's worth going to a paint store. The service was not great. They ignored me at first then questioned my groupon. Expected me to know what what the different paints were with out any description. They sold me the paint but ran out of what I bought instead of upgrading it to a better pain the replaced it with the cheaper one. They thought I wouldn't know... and didn't feel like argueing. This young kid who helped me was sort of snoby brat even made fun of another customer after he left. They are getting the two stars because Darren who mixed the paint was knowledgeable and helpful. Best customer service I've received! Dante F. (their professional color advisor) helped me and my boyfriend out with getting to know exactly what paint color we wanted. We have made multiple trips back and forth from Lowe's and Home Depot, comparing grays to white. We ended up getting grays with hints of blue or purple or green. We want a soft gray color for the entire house and we already knew, based on what our independent contractor quoted for needed materials/primers/finishes like semi gloss and eggshell. Dante was there for us the whole time. He educated us on all the types of primers and paint solutions. He even assisted us with getting a couple paint samples! The staff is nice except for the sales person named Vicky at the register counter. She is rude, difficult and not truthful to customers. I experienced it myself and witnessed the same bad treatment toward another customer. She said the store didn't have any paint in quartz size for semi-gloss when there was a few cans sitting on the shelves (as I found out later). The paint mixer also confirmed my belief. Not sure what the deal was. Perhaps she was trying to upsell to a gallon size. When I told her I didn't need that much paint, she sold me a premium line which was more expensive. The next day I came back to buy paint in another color and saw how rude she treated a painter/subcontractor. He was looking to buy 5 samples for his customer. She said she only had 2. After some words back and forth, he said he would go to another Dunn Edwards store. Then she tried to pull him back and asked if he wanted her to call and check another store for him, which he turned down. She kept on insisting calling the other store. He kept on saying no, and I could tell he was turned off and didn't trust or want her "help". After he left, she called the other store anyway to cover her bases, telling the person on the other line that this painter didn't understand her because he spoke English as a 2nd language!!! He understood her perfectly fine. She needed to realize that customers would be willing to drive to another store if they were treated rudely. read more
