The big box stores carry generic inventory which is great if you need a 2" x 4". I was looking for a specific cap screw. They have a super wide selection of screws, nuts, bolts and little hardware pieces you can't find elsewhere. The sales cleck came by to help me out since they have such a wide selection of screws in different materials and colors. She even assembled my bracket with the screws. They have great customer service.

I thought it would be nice to patronize what I had thought was a local business. Never offered a price adjustment which you think would be logical I had just assumed they would sell for list price but when I called the store it seems that corporate does its own pricing and it depends up who owns the individual Ace Hardware stores so they determine price plus if you need to return something then they are owned by different corporations so it can only be returned to another Paul's Hardware.

They have a wide variety of products, you know: the thingamabobs, doo-hickeys, and so many other items that we can never remember the names of (to save our lives!) Our latest find was scored with the determined help of a young man (pictured here) that stuck with us until we found what we needed to get the job done, despite our terrible attempt to describe it! Thanks to him and all the other helpful folks at Ace, We walked out with the right items to get ourselves out of a pickle for under a buck. Great price, indeed! We are happy that we have an Ace Hardware right up the street that we can trust. They always guide us in the right direction when we get the itch to start working on projects that we have no business starting without the proper tools or training to do! SMH ‍ Thanks Ace! You rock!

This is a nice store with a nice selection. Upon entering, I was carrying a bag and wearing a…read morebackpack, so I thought I'd be helpful and leave my bag upfront. The old, unkempt, crabby woman at the register(think cat lady combined with prison guard personality)ordered me to also remove my backpack in a tone befitting a county jail intake matron. I complied without a word since I just wanted to get on with my shopping. I walked around the store and was asked if I needed help about 10 times and followed everywhere. I had a feeling it was more about treating me like a shoplifter just because I wore a backpack(that I already removed when I walked in). The other annoying thing is when I had a question the staff isn't smart enough to be more specific than answering tools section(Correct answer is aisle number and shelf level). I bought a tarp, shoelace, $10 wool socks, pepper spray and made sure to get my receipt or be falsely detained by the woman auditioning for crazy cat lady/prison guard. I spent over $43 and the cashier woman prison guard wasn't even nice enough to apologize and thank me for my business. Instead, she again admonished me not to look at the 3 different pepper sprays the one competent staff Russ put on the counter for me to look at. It didn't occur to her they were on the counter for me to look at. After her 2nd incredibly rude outburst(not to be confused with customer service)I told her firmly to learn some manners which I do rarely but will call out jerks when they deserve it. Since the one employee Russ was professional and competent and they had the items I wanted I bumped this store up to 3 stars. I doubt I'll shop there again. This is why online shopping is so popular.
