The coffee was great and so was the service. Dunkin coffee doesn't make me as jittery as the often bitter coffee found at other places.

I have driven by Fuel so many times and seen it pop up on my Yelp recommendations, however, never…read morehad the opportunity to visit until recently. I am so glad we did, because this is definitely a new favorite spot and worth the drive over the bridges! It was a rainy afternoon, and my grandma and I rolled into their ample parking lot to get some coffee and a midafternoon snack. The shop is sparkling clean with plenty of seating at cafe tables and a cozy couch section. The clientele was a mixture of students from URI and professionals working remotely. All were sipping lattes and seemed happy - a good vibe right from the get go. The barista was upbeat and knowledgeable about the menu, recommending their house made Pumpkin Spice Latte (I had to try it!). I am so glad I did, because theirs is made with pumpkin puree, so it's not sugary or cloying like other varietals you may be familiar with. We were also informed that all their baked goods are made fresh daily, and I was pleased to see the pastry case was clean as well (this is a less common occurrence unfortunately, than you would think). We tried the Blueberry Muffin, and it was FABULOUS! I am already looking forward to going back and trying more. Don't be fooled by the humble roadside plaza exterior- Fuel is certainly worth the stop.

Update: 9/13/26…read more Similar experience to one year ago. Got to Fuel maybe 1:55. Sat down to eat our snack, staff began vacuuming and washing floors at 2:00, when they're supposed to close at 3:00. My friend was uncomfortable, as it felt like they wanted us to leave... so we left. Another customer was walking in right around 2:00. She appeared very confused, because someone was vacuuming, and no one was working at the counter. Not sure if she waited to order or not. Is it me, or is it rude to begin loudly and aggressive cleaning a coffee shop one full hour before the posted closing time? It's odd.

Over the last couple of months, I have tried to brew the best coffee at home. As a part of that, I…read morehave decided to try to find small batch roasters in the area to source my beans. I did a Google search and saw that The Coffee Guy was close to me and that they had a variety of beans that they roast in house. I stopped in to the shop and walked up to their display of bags of coffee beans. The owner introduced himself as well as the staff. They were all very friendly and knowlegable. I made my selection and brought it to the counter to purchase. They also serve coffee and pastry but this trip I just wanted the beans. They offered to grind them to whatever courseness I wanted, but I prefer to grind them at home. A pound of coffee averages $20 and they have a frequent buyer program (when you reach purchases of $100, you get a $5 credit. This is tracked so your purchases accumulate). They also deliver to the area on Wednesday's if you order online by their Tuesday Night deadline. I have tried this and my coffee was on my doorstep before 9 that Wednesday. Very convenient. Lastly, the store is not that big with not much room for sitting (I honestly can't remember if they had seating.) However, if you are looking to source your beans or grab a cup of coffee on the go, this is a great option.

I appreciated that their cocoa was 100% pure cocoa powder w no added sugar, such a rarity nowadays. I ordered a cocoa latte with cocoa dusted on top and it was perfect: rich, smooth, and balanced without being overly sweet. Great drinks, great people, great experience. I'll definitely be back!

I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese on a Portuguese roll and it hit the spot. The roll was fresh and soft, the sausage had great flavor, and the whole thing was balanced and satisfying. The weather was great so I could take advantage of eating out in their cute garden area. I enjoyed a scone more morning and accidentally bought a gluten free muffin the next morning. I didn't love the muffin but I didn't hate it. LOL. I took off one star for the baked breakfast goods- I had higher hopes. For lunch I got a roasted pork Bahn Mi sandwich which was huge and I said to myself to save half to the next day but that dang sandwich was sooooo tasty I ate the whole thing. I don't usually eat pork, but it was worth it. Pickled veggies and crunchy french bread- mmmm. The next day for lunch I bought a kale salad which was also delicious and too big to finish all for one meal. Its a lovely vibe- beautifully decorated. I highly recommend.
