We have been there twice already. Bagels and coffee were both fresh and delicious. We will be back.

I've brought my infant daughter a number of times and she loves toddling around making friends. The vibe is welcoming, the staff - especially the owner - is incredibly kind and there are so many homey touches to the decor. Other local businesses are used wherever possible (tea, pastries, etc). Coffee is... Yes. Really fun, funky and delicious seasonals, spot on regular bevvies that can accommodate many different tastes. I've tried the bagels with homemade cream cheese (yum) and a pastry or two (also yum). Haven't given that toasts or oatmeal a whirl yet but they all look great. All in all, The Nook is perfect and I always look forward to spending time here. Stay awesome.

I went with the baklava cold brew and it was among the best I've had in a while. The pistachio flavor really came through without being over powering. Their frozen hot chocolate was a high school staple, their flavored coffee and work friendly ambiance got me through graduate school, and I never visit RI without bringing back a bag of chocolate chip cookie beans. I've taken meetings at their small tables, curled up in an armchair with a book by the fireplace, gone on dates on the patio and snuggled with my infant daughter on the couch. There's a spot for whatever you need - as long as you get there before the rush! My go-to has always been a jalapeno bagel with jalapeno cream cheese; their baked goods are all made in-house and are chefs kiss. Once I became a coffee drinker I always opted for a black flavor of the day but have slowly been switching to a seasonal latte. It's all yummy. I love seeing their menu items grow and will occasionally treat myself to a slice of cake. It's not a cheap coffeeshop but I personally don't find it to be outlandish. Unfortunately indoors is not the most friendly atmosphere for a rambunctious toddler so on crummy weather days I visit other coffeeshops. The patio is better, though. They could also use a changing table for little ones. Regardless I'll still keep coming back!

Double feature review for both the bar and coffeeshop ~…read more Bar: came on a Friday evening in August and it was veryyy quiet. Was told this is the norm in the summer and they were closing at 9pm (vs usual 11pm) because of it, which seemed fair. The bartender was very friendly and my hot n dirty vodka martini (olive and banana pepper juice) was delicious and well worth the $12 price tag. I cozied up on a leather chair with my book and enjoyed my time there. A few others trickled in but it stayed quiet. The bar stools were also extremely comfy. Coffeeshop: the next morning (Saturday around 10) I came in with my toddler for coffee and food. She was on a mission and there was lots for her to explore. Wish there was a gate or some sort of deterrant between the main area and the kitchen. I had a specialty coffee (chai, toffee syrup, espresso) and while yummy, a bit pricey. The same goes for my lox bagel (jalapeno). I also don't like that everything is served in disposable cups and plates. Go green! Service was okay - not very personable but I guess being busy can do that. If just reviewing the bar, I'd give full marks but the coffeeshop wasn't quite as a home run. Will absolutely come back, though! Outdoor area seems nice, too.

Drinks tend to run on the…read morepricier side - I paid $10 for a Shipyard pumpkin beer in a glass bottle last fall, which felt a little crazy. They now have a $10 cocktail specials menu, but every time I or my friends have ordered off it, the item we want has an ingredient that's out of stock, and they have to substitute it for something else. Seems like they run into inventory issues? Service at the bar can take quite a while. There's only ever one bartender working, even on busy trivia nights, and I hate having to awkwardly stand at the end of the bar waiting to be served, and then waiting for my drink. The girl that's usually there is a sweetie pie and so helpful, but they really need to have more than one bartender at a time. The fact that the cafe coffee shop part isn't open when the bar part is is just a missed opportunity. I'd order their latte specials at 7 pm on a Thursday over and over, but you can't. They also don't have any food options except some super snacky light bites at night when the bar is open - missed money opportunity, people would get baked goods and sandwiches etc later at night! The furniture is pretty comfy and coffee shop like, but the low back and cushion placement on the couch is so uncomfortable to me, and the large soft chairs are way too deep so I can't either sit forward or comfortably sit back without my feet sticking in the air. Just very awkward furniture. I'd like to come during the coffee shop hours to try a latte since their specials always sound fun and are seasonal, but their set up just annoys me - I want to get a latte and then a cocktail 30 minutes later on the same visit, not have to come at the exact right time of day. There's room for improvement for sure. I also wish their trivia was displayed on a screen as it can be very loud and hard to understand the questions when they are only spoken verbally. Easy location off a main road, and the bathrooms are always very clean and well stocked.

Decent selection of drinks in the cooler with some edible to-go items (think chicken salad). All the sandwiches ($16) sound delicious. I had the Crabby Patty ($12), a breakfast sando with a smashed crab cake, soufflé egg, chili crisp, tomato and arugula on a beautifully toasted bola roll. It was divine. Their signature coffees are all very unique - perhaps a bit intense for some and likely calorie bombs but I enjoyed indulging in my Campfire Cold Brew after a hot yoga class. I'm assuming they offer regular coffee drinks, though none were listed. My only qualm with this spot is the price. Everything was a bit more expensive than I would have liked and I'm not sure all of it was on par with value. That said, I enjoyed my visit and would be happy to return.

Additionally, I purchased Say Cheese (cheese ravioli, rich marinara, a dollop of ricotta, fresh basil, Parmesan). The ravioli was pretty standard; we initially didn't get garlic bread, but that was quickly corrected after we brought it up. I loved the ambiance of Wild Harvest: it was like entering a cozy cabin haven in the middle of the woods. I wished I had some more time to explore the outside area and koi pond. Service was friendly and relatively fast. They were accommodative of my dietary restrictions, which was appreciated. However, I do think it general good practice to have at least one specific, thought-out vegetarian entree (or at least something with a meat substitute available) and non-alcoholic option on the menu. I also felt that the prices were a little steep for what was provided. There's plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. 6/10 would recommend for the ambiance and drinks, I'd have to come back to try other foods and the bakery.

A former Russian professor of mine who grew up in Moscow said that people there frequent ice cream carts only during the dead of winter so our ilk is not that weird, okay? It was snowing yet again on the way out of my dentist's appointment and I had just got the tip from a friend to try Marylou's near the office for the specialty iced beverages. He had recommended The Girl Scout Cookie but I didn't see it on the menu. In a snap decision, I went for the "Frosty Minty Lou"...without consulting Yelp! Livin' on the edge there, y'all. I've found that if an establishment is willing to add their name when naming an item, it's something they usually stand by. And stand by the Frosty Minty Lou they should because it was delish. They had forgot to add the whipped cream on after asking me if I wanted any but I'll let that slide. I'm not someone who enjoys Frappuccinos/Dunkaccino type beverages usually but this was exactly what those should be like. It was perfectly sweet (clearly I like sweet stuff) with a perfect balance of mint and chocolate. It was decadent but with just the right amount of ice to actually taste the coffee amidst the sweetness. I have never slurped down one of those types of drinks so fast but I pretty much destroyed a medium Frosty Minty Lou in, like, 30 minutes. I wonder if I had some massive insulin spike after finishing my drink because I came home and took a nap immediately afterward. Likely a sugar crash. So I guess I'll avoid the frozen drinks if I need to be awake after drinking my coffee. With that said, this was so good that I see what other reviewers are saying about craving more Marylou's immediately after finishing one beverage from there because I immediately wanted more. I'm already plotting a trip back as soon as possible to try something less sugary in the hopes that I can find items I can drink on a more regular basis. Even if iced sugary stuff ends up being what I like there, it's so worth it to come back on a day when you want to treat yo'self at a chain that really adds some local flavor. If you have a day when you need a life pick-me-up, getting a Frosty Minty Lou at Marylou's is a perfect way with which to do it.
