Worker stabbed my jelly donut and caused the filling to come out in the bag.

This is the first time I've ever left a bad review, so the fact that I'm giving this place one star is saying something. I've gone to this Dunkin' at least a hundred times because it's the most convenient location to me. I know that with Dunkin' you shouldn't expect too much, but this place is just pathetic. I can always depend on the Lake Shore Plaza Dunkin' to mess up something. I have a sensitive stomach so I always order non dairy and decaf. The amount of times I've had to scrape the melted cheese off my bagel with a plastic spoon in my work place's kitchen is too high to count. When I was pregnant, I had to give away my coffee to a coworker multiple times because they gave me caffeinated coffee. I've had to spend way too much time in my works bathroom because they did something wrong to my coffee. This place almost always burns my bagel, gives me the wrong donut, or forgets to put something in the bag entirely. They also forgot to give my husband back his debit card once so we had to come back and get it. The speaker is difficult to understand and they hardly ever repeat the order back to me. I've gotten a smile at the window twice. Look at the picture attached to see what they did to my donut today, did the worker think they had to stop my donut from running away?? I told my husband to never come back to this place. I can expect better service from the McDonald's around the corner. If you really want Dunkin', drive five extra minutes down the street to the Fort Smallwood location. They never burn my bagel. Or better yet, if you have time in the morning support your local business and go to Second Alarm Brewhouse.

New to the area, I found this through the Google maps app on my iPhone. As I leisured down mountain road, hungering for a sweet drink, I spotted the unmistakable orange and violet sign. I parked, heart pounding. It didn't look too unique, the engineers who built this Dunkin must have made the last 100. I walked in the glass doors and stood on the consumers side of the register. I waited for two minutes without being greeted, watching a young middle eastern man work the drive thru. Finally, I was introduced to a second middle eastern man, but instead of working the drive thru, his eyes were fixated on me. He couldn't have been more than 5'5, I towered over him at 6'0, but it didn't seem to bother him as he stood, chest out, feet rooted to the ground. I ordered a medium caramel latte, my favorite since being introduced to the chain such a long time ago. He did not ask me if I wanted whole or skim milk. He knew I wanted whole. Any words said would simply be wasted vibrations. I also ordered a dozen doughnuts to bring back as spoils for my relatives I was seeing over this particular weekend. I asked for several different varieties of doughnuts, each one our middle eastern protagonist picked with the speed and precision of a hawk diving toward a mouse in the grass. However, when it got to the 7th or 8th doughnut, I discovered a cog in what I presumed to be an efficient machine. They had NO, that is ZERO, cinnamon doughnuts. I couldn't believe it. I ended up going with the double chocolate.

They did not skimp on the bacon and the flavors kind of work. Imagine a stuffed savory donut. Child #1 enjoyed his egg and cheese one as well. The sweet donuts were a mixed bag. The family liked the maple and cherry iced donuts and found the rest to be pretty average. The buttermilk cake donut is *not* at all like a sour cream donut, unfortunately. Apple fritter was fine, a little doughy, but not terrible. The whole location is drive-thru only. The team focuses on efficiency more than niceties, but they aren't rude - just focused. Every time I order from here, everyone wants to know where they are located and how come they've never heard about it! I love the kolaches! I usually get the egg and cheese stuffed one and the bacon or sausage stuffed ones for my kids. You can get full off of one! The bread is literally perfect consistency. The donuts remind me of the perfect mix between shoppers and Krispy Kreme donuts. They are fluffy and perfectly coated. I prefer the glazed donuts and am not a fan of the chocolate frosted donuts. But I am not a chocolate fan. I enjoy the variety of donuts they have as well. Give them a try and let me know how much you love them!

After walking around and trying a few savory things like bacon, schnitzel, and a raclette sandwich, we decided to end the night with something sweet and stopped by the mini donut stand. The first thing that caught my attention was the long line -- which is always a good sign. The second good sign was being able to watch them make the donuts fresh right in front of you. I'll happily stand in line any day for fresh food, especially when you can see the whole process and watch the magic happen. I went with the cinnamon sugar mini donuts and wow... they were so good. Fresh, crispy on the outside, warm, and perfectly sweet. The only thing I wish I had with them was a cold glass of milk -- although I'm not sure if they offered that. Honestly, I'd come back to the market just for these donuts. Eating them fresh right on the spot is definitely the best way to enjoy them, but they'd also be great to bring home and pop in the air fryer to get that crispiness back. My friend got a different flavor (I can't remember exactly which one), but both were incredibly fresh and the kind of treat that makes you want to keep coming back for more. Next year when the market returns, this stand is definitely going on my must-visit list again. After enjoying all the savory food at the market, these warm mini donuts were the perfect sweet ending.

Just last Friday I made a purchase online for pumpkin spice cake donuts. Well, when I arrive to pick up my order they ONLY had regular glazed. Let me say that again, they ONLY had glazed and NOTHING else. They actually had the nerve to seem upset that I declined to substitute glazed for pumpkin spice. I inquired about a refund and the manager Russ was a straight up jerk. Just rude and dismissive. I could say more about the interaction, but that sums up the unprofessionalism. On a previous occasions when I've came to get their strawberry glazed, they have no glazed because the machine was broken or something. I've had coupons that they've refused to honor because (in their words) they don't accept digital coupons with barcodes that are provided by corporate. They only accept them if you print them out. The manager who was rude on that visit was Quanie. I give up. I've tried to give this location chances and they continue to fail me. The inside is closed or the drive thru is closed. This place is bipolar. They were great when they opened but have completely gone downhill. With the poor customer service and lack of available donuts, they'll probably be closed by the end of the year. No way they survive.

Epilogue: Since dumpin' Dunkin, I have discovered fantastic donuts (selection, flavor, quality,…read moresize and above all, freshness) next door at Geresbeck's and I've been grabbing my share of Krispy Kremes and coffee at Royal Farms, 2 blocks away; both by the way are cheaper. UPDATE: 2 1/2 weeks later... DD corporate reached out about a week or so ago to ask if the local franchisee contacted me. They mentioned high standards for customer service. I responded that I hadn't heard from them. That was DD's last correspondence. So yesterday, I notified them of the continued lack of contact and that I was deleting the app and my account. DD used to be a different company that cared about their product and customers. They wouldn't sell donuts that weren't 100% fresh. They're more concerned with gimmicks and trying to be trendy, instead of offering the value, the service, the selection and freshness that made them a household name. At over 50 years as a customer, it has been made very clear that I, along with those my age who remember what DD used to be, are no longer the targeted consumers and it shows. I had asked customer service to give me one reason to remain a customer. They offered no reason, so they're history as far as I am concerned. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Do not use the app to buy for pickup at the drive-thru. They have no mechanism in place for you to pick up your order without waiting in the same line as those ordering in the line. I ordered 2 donuts, a sandwich and coffee last Sunday. I was a half mile away and was there in under three minutes. There was a line of about 6 cars and I saw no signs about drive-thru pickups, so I got in line and pulled up to the order board. I said I placed an app purchase and the young lady told me to pull around and up to the window. I got out of line and drove up to the car behind the one being served and asked if he would let me in to pick up my order. He said no, that he was next in line. I responded that I ordered through the app and the server had just told me to pull around to the window. He was insistent on being next. So I opened my door, got out and stepped between cars. Once the car in front left, I stepped up to the window and got my order. The owner/manager looked at me like I was going to rob him. But the server kindly handed me my purchased items. I was very annoyed, but polite. I wasn't rude at the window. After the female driver of the black Escalade lunged the car at me as I was going back to my car, I guess to try to startle, maybe make me jump and drop my food, I just smiled and told them to have a nice day. This prompted the man to call me an asshole. I could see his point, even though he was blind to mine. My old response would have been to tell him that would make us neighbors. He'd either get it or he wouldn't. Instead I decided to say a prayer for the couple. This wasn't about them and it wasn't about me. It was about DD not having the mechanism to be able to fulfill app purchases at the drive-thru. This all happened over the course of 1-2 minutes. I was home in less than ten minutes from when I ordered the food. When I went inside, I found my coffee almost at room temp and my 2 donuts stuck to the inside of the bag, losing most of the icing during removal. At that point, I decided to file a complaint with DD through the app. The app said I would hear back from DD within 48 hours. It's 6 days later and nothing. I have even sent an email to customer service. I asked in the email for them to give me one reason to return to any DD.... Radio silence.... Crickets.... I've been a DD customer almost my entire life. I remember a wide selection of larger, fresh donuts. There were no stale donuts served. They were trashed and replaced with newly baked donuts on a time clock 24/7. The prices were fair. The coffee was good (still is, if they can keep it hot). So I won't revisit a DD anywhere, at least until I get a response from them. If they cannot give me one good reason to stay a customer, I won't.

Friendly, quick drive thru service. Donuts were fresh and I have no complaints about this location.read more
