Seriously--you may hear snippets of "Pennsylvania Dutch" (actually a German dialect). Quirks: the shop is only open Wednesday and Saturday, 6 AM to 2 PM. That's right: two days a week. Period. I strongly suggest getting there early if visiting on a Saturday. Cash only As alluded earlier, it isn't easy to find on your first visit but well worth it.

Being only open 2 days a week makes my mouth water a day early but if they were open more days I'd be so fat on carbs that I would be in big trouble health wise. I learned that the owners met in Chile, where they were inspired to start a donut and coffee food truck. They sold their handcrafted donuts from a vintage VW bus on the streets of Santiago before eventually bringing their passion to Pennsylvania. Today, they have two locations, and I had the pleasure of visiting the Jim Thorpe shop. Their display case is filled with an impressive selection of classic and specialty donuts, along with colorful macarons, French toast cinnamon rolls, flaky croissants, and a full lineup of coffee drinks ranging from lattes to iced coffees. Honestly...wow! Deciding what to order wasn't easy. Since it was already midday, I kept it simple and went with a Boston Cream donut. It was incredibly fresh, light, and filled with rich, creamy custard, then topped with a smooth layer of chocolate. Absolutely delicious! A special shout-out to Sarah, who made the visit even better. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the different donuts and macarons. Everything she described sounded amazing, and she definitely had my mouth watering.
