She also bakes savory items such as biscuits, rolls, mini pizzas, take and bake pizza dough plus pepperoni pizza rolls. Queen of Cakes is a small business but the owner/ baker bakes an impressive amount and variety of baked goods. Beautifully baked and decorated there's something for everybody in her bakery cases. I love the fact that she sells pieces of cake along with her numerous cupcakes. Whenever I go my husband warns me don't overspend because quite frankly everything in her bakery just calls out to me! There were only a few apple fritters left, along with some Boston cream donuts, so I grabbed a box to bring to the office during my clinical rotations and made sure to save one of each for myself. Anyway, that changed today when the Husbeastie and I stopped in for a quick brunch. This is a small shop, run by one or two people, so orders of food take time as they are made individually. Today, I got a fluffy Bavarian Cream donut, and loaded Avacado toast, my hubby got a smash burger with perfect tots! (They were perfectly crisp and salty. Perfect!) The donut, Ill be honest I was expecting dry and very little filling, ala Dunkin, but No! Thos was a deliciius, tender dough, and LOTS of filling! It was a decadent experience. My loaded avocado toast, and it was not at all what I expected, it was better! Instead of just mashed avocado, it was a thick piece of multi grain bread, spread with cream cheese, salad mix, and sliced avocado, with 2 eggs any style. I asked for scrambled, dry and they were perfect. Honestly its several hours later and I'm still thinking about that donut.
