Amazing food. Drinks hit every time. Very speedy service and parking available. No seating as it is very small.

Taste was fine and filling - not the best bagel in the world, but solid nonetheless. Overall, if you need a quick drink or snack while waiting for your train, Zaro's is a solid pick!

First off this bakery is in Newark Penn station, a destination that has the atmosphere,…read moremaintenance, and smell of a porta-potty 24/7. Legitimately, if you had the runs, you've experienced all of this train station So the last thing you want to do is eat here, willingly. I myself have to travel through here daily for my commutes to work and have become desensitized to the aroma of grease coming through the floors and on occasion if I skip breakfast, I'd pass to the upper level Zaro's and just grab a plain bagel, or an apple turnover. I'm not a regular but I know what to expect. Small line of about 1-2 people, juice fridge, and cashiers/severs who might be going near deaf or just don't understand that some people just want an untoasted bagel. This lady (cashier/worker) in particular always seems to be either upset or disappointed or disgusted with people, always seeming to want to yell, make off comments, but nothing insulting. My experience is pretty negligible to slightly annoyed at sometimes but again, I barely go here. The reason that prompted me to make this review is that I am sick today and had a runny nose and I knew the upper level Zaro's had napkins at the register with hand sanitizer. I wasn't going to get anything, just the napkins. This is the only spot they had them in the store. (From what I remembered off hand) One person was checking out, I get beside/behind him (tight space) and just start grabbing napkins. Again, didn't want to and wasn't going to get anything and the cashier lady had an issue with me doing this saying that I should say "excuse me" I explained I just wanted napkins to blow my nose and walked over to the garbage can, all the while this woman is yelling at me. There was one other customer that was on the far end by the doors who seemed to be making an order, no where near the register, where I was and the man in front of me had just paid.... So I fail to see or understand what the issue was. Even I was getting something, I would've seen the lady at the far end and just qued up behind her to make my order as she was doing or the other guy at the register and start making my order so I can pay faster. Nothing about what I did or the scene shows I was going to order anything or wanted to stay longer than a minute... Why am I being dehumanized for simply tending to myself?

Loved the vibe here…read more Had a business lunch here and honestly it was a great choice. I can't take credit for choosing it. A super comfortable, not too loud or busy atmosphere. I got the Matcha pineapple juice and a Cesar salmon salad. The dressing was super different. It was a tomato Caesar which I've never encountered in the wild. That was absolutely delicious. I'd love to stop back and try some other things. If you're around here you gotta check it out.

The location is similar - a place that wouldn't be on your radar unless you know. I say all that to say, upon pulling up I remembered attending a private birthday party and some community networking events at Blueprint Cafe! We selected our own seating upon entry. What became our waiter offered a high chair for the baby. I get easily overwhelmed by large menus so I just glanced at the board but focused primarily on the brunch menu. I ordered the Irish Cream French toast which came with chicken. I also ordered a pineapple matcha lemonade. The pineapple matcha lemonade came in a bottle, which met my needs (juggling the baby and myself). I loved how refreshing and sweet it was! I really wanted another but didn't want to see greedy. The French toast was perfect. Not too sweet, light and fluffy. It paired well with the savory strips of chicken which came with a secret sauce. I forgot how nice of an addition Blueprint Cafe Lounge was to the Ironbound section. I'm looking forward to returning this summer and using the outdoor seating!

Front of the house is more restaurant but in the back is a library/sitting area where you can read a book you brought or one that they have available (see pics). I had a cafe con leche and it was perfect as it came. Also I had the shashuka. I don't eat runny eggs but they kindly scrambled my eggs. The tomato sauce was delicious and it comes with bread. I also got a side of bacon. The staff is really nice and I was able to sit and read. If you are ever looking for a really accessible spot near the train station to eat definitely stop here.

My husband ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk, rich and comforting, and my mom had a chai with oat milk. She enjoyed the flavor overall. Food-wise, my husband ordered the chorizo omelette and was very happy with it--hearty, well-seasoned, and satisfying. I had the salmon salad, which was delicious. The dressing was balanced and flavorful, the greens fresh, and the salmon was cooked and seasoned really well. I will note that the salmon portion was a bit smaller than what I'd seen in some Yelp photos, but the quality absolutely made up for it. My mom had the club sandwich, which was generously sized and filling. She also wasn't a fan of the soft-boiled egg that came with her dish, but that's more a personal preference--she's firmly in the "well-done only" camp. Our little one had eggs and fries and was clearly living her best life. A sweet highlight of the visit was when the owner kindly gave her a cookie on the house--such a small gesture, but it really made the experience feel warm and personal. The space itself feels like a true community gathering spot--comfortable, welcoming, and easy to settle into. It's a great place to work or linger, with free WiFi and a relaxed atmosphere that invites you to stay awhile. Overall, this spot feels cozy, thoughtfully run, and rooted in care. The food is well-prepared, the flavors are intentional, and the hospitality really stands out. We'd absolutely come back for brunch and a longer stay next time.
