This is the only place within a five mile radius that has decent coffee and I actually travaled a good two miles to get here. I wasn't the only one with the same idea, as this donut shop was quite busy even at 8am. I thought about it a lot as to whether I should blow my calorie intake for the week, ad go for a couple of glazed donuts along with the coffee, but ultimately I stuck to my guns and suffered without any extra sweet filled donuts today. It was definitely into the 80's by the time I got here, and I was really enjoying the air conditioning for a moment. I really do not like having to write a one star review but sometimes it is required and this is one of those times. I stopped in here to grab a iced coffee and against my better judgement some hash browns, which is the sole and most prevalent reason for this one star review. The young lady who took my order was friendly and this is no reflection of her at all. I placed my order, and Iced Gingerbread Latte and hash browns. I waited all of a full fifteen minutes for my iced coffee and there was only one person ahead of me. Matter of fact, we were the only two customers in the place. The hash browns were down right gross! Please do not waste your time, energy or effort. They were lukewarm at best and tasted under cooked. Never again. Like never ever at least not from this location. It is unfortunate because my iced coffee was delicious!! It needed nothing added to it and was perfect just the way it was. This location can be frustrating to deal with as they are quite slow despite being open 24 hours. I would not order in person if you want your order in a timely fashion. The best thing to do is to order online in the app about 10 minutes before you would like your items - to ensure they are ready. The pick up counter is also problematic because the straws for your drink are located near the register - which causes you to need to walk near the line of people waiting after grabbing your food/drinks at the pick up area. Normally not a problem, but if there are a lot of people in the store, it can be a logistical nightmare. Ordering food here is also hit or miss. I have gotten a bagel with cream cheese before where the bagel was burnt or there was one scrape of cream cheese on it. This place is oddly situated with a Baskin Robbins attached to it. I must say that I like the location - however, it is really hard to exit the strip mall if you need to go north on Woodfield. The service here is speedy and it is never really busy. Actually, in the several times I have been here, there has never been a line for me. Great for me! I tried to donuts, the coffee, and the tea here. Everything seems standard, but I do like the speediness of the service because it is in a strip mall that does not seem too busy. It is next to a Papa Johns so it is great to wait for pizza while sipping on coffee. Ok combination or an odd combination? Either or, it is an option. This place is usually pretty good, but apparently not at 4 AM. I ordered a #12 (Wake Up Wrap - Steak ) with a small sweetened iced tea. I was the only customer in there, except for maybe one other guy who was waiting for his order. In other words, not busy at all, but it still took nearly 9 minutes before I got my order. I get home and open the steak wrap, and out it comes dripping with honey mustard. I take a bite and the wrap feels like its been out for too long; stale and chewy, hard to bite into. I look at the sausage and its a crooked little sliver of meat, awkwardly cut and not enough to cover the base of the wrap. Way too sweet from the oozing amounts of honey mustard, and it was almost like the wrap and the meat were competing for which one was chewier. Also, wasn't I supposed to get eggs in here? Reached for (what I thought was) my iced tea hoping to help dissolve the weird textures in my mouth, but surprise surprise... its iced coffee! I have been to this location about a dozen times or more, mostly to get coffee and twice for a donut or two. I took my kids once to get the overpriced but fairly yummy ice cream on the Baskin Robbins side. The coffee as usual is delightful and they almost always put the right amount of cream and sugar in my drink. It's always hot and taste fresh and you can even add flavor to it. I really liked the peppermint mocha when they offered it! The establishment has always been clean when we sat in to enjoy out coffee. It's never crowded so we never had an issue finding seating. It seems to seat about 24 people. I really love the free wifi because I believe all coffee places should have free wifi. And surprisingly after moaning constantly that I wasn't a fan of their donuts because they just taste like cigarette smoke to me, I finally tried a sour cream donut and it was really good! My five year old son had two glazed donuts once and devoured them but he is not very picky. Now I do think that for the size and quality of their donuts they need to lower the price! Over a buck per donut seems like highway robbery to me but I'll stick to my yummy coffee and free wifi and maybe the occasional sour cream donut when my pocketbook is in agreement with me! Also the ice cream seems to be a hit because I always see more people getting ice cream than getting coffee and donuts! And as a side note: I went once and ordered a hot coffee and the cashier put iced coffee on the receipt and so the 'barista' handed it to me and I told her of the mistake and she said, 'oh, well that's what he punched in and that's what's on the receipt,' while still handing me the iced coffee. I just looked at her and said, 'well I'm sorry but can you change it because I want a hot coffee.' She did and didn't show any attitude so I give her credit for that but next time she should have just switched it and not try to get me to still drink it. Polite, fast working employees. I had a sweet tea and a bagel. The lady poured my tea, put a lid on it and held it up in the air to look at the contents of the plastic cup. Whether it was the color of the tea, the amount of ice or she saw something floating in it i'm not sure, but she said, "I'm gonna remake this for you!" Fantastic! Being a big national chain, the donuts and ice cream her are pretty standard and what you would expect. The service on the other hand is hit or miss at this location. The first couple of times I've been here it was okay. They weren't the friendliest of people, but whatever just buying some coffee or ice cream. What turned me the F off was when I was here get some ice cream one time and the guy taking the orders was the most scrappiest and unkept dude I've ever seen. To be clear, I'm not trying to be condescending or judge someone on their appearance but my point is, as someone who handles food, you need to make an effort to be a little bit more clean in all aspects. On top of looking all scrappy, this dude was coughing into his hands, adjusting his pants with his hands, had a runny nose and proceeded to wipe his nose with his arm. I saw this guy serving ice cream for the people in front of me and I just left because I didn't want extra "toppings" on my ice cream. First time here and I was happy. Why? They were very organized. The large ice coffee is less than $2. The apple fritter was the largest one I have ever seen in my life. Sweet, crispy, chewy with lots of apples! I could not eat the whole thing (ok, I could have, but I had a party later that evening so I just ate half and was seriously satisfied!) and gave the other half to my Mom! I walked in and there was a man just standing there hiding and then he looked at me rude and the first thing he said was "what do you want?" and i told him what i wanted. Overall his attitude was so over the top for no reason. I thought they would be more grateful they had a customer since the store was completely empty but i guess not. The workers weren't even wearing face masks over their either while handling my food. I left the store with my drink and i left pretty annoyed because of the way i was treated. More recently I ordered a hot chocolate via the app and when I got there I was told they were out of mint and it took forever to prepare my order. I go to this location the most because of its proximity to my church and my daughter's school. They get the order right, even when it gets busy in there, I have never had an item wrong or forgotten. The manager Simon is awesome! I asked him if he would carry a flavor that is hard to find (german chocolate cake ice cream) from the baskin robbins side (located in the DD store). Within a month of me asking, he started carrying it. Apparently it is popular, as I got some on Friday, and the tub was gone by the time I went back today (Sunday). This is positively the best DD in the area. My wife and I stop every day on the way to work. We use the coupon from the Flower Hill Giant register tape and get a great start to the morning. Simon, the manager, has a great sense of humor and always has a smile for us, even when I complain that he has run out of Salt Bagels (which are the best bagels in the world). The service is here is great, but often it's very busy in the mornings with HUGE moving trucks often occupying the parking spaces. This causes them a delay in their service, but only because they are so busy! The coffee is always consistently good along with the food.
