A father and his 2 children came in. He left his daughter, who I assume was somewhere on the spectrum alone at a table, while he and his son spent at least 10-15 minutes at a kiosk. I, too, have a child with Autism, so I had empathy as long as I'm could. His daughter made sounds (ticks?) that got louder and louder. He didn't go to her or even look at her once. She, at one point, shook her hair repeatedly. Still nothing. By this point, dad was in another part of the store and on the phone. My meal was ruined... I went up to the man and asked him to please pay attention to his daughter. The owner glared at me, and the father yelled at me. I will never go back there. Ever.

I guess first impressions mean a lot. I have been to DD all over the east coast and this time I was traveling out of Boston. This Dunks is right off the highway and was easy to access. My kids had to go to the bathroom and I was loading up on another cup of joe. The bathroom was clean btw.I will typically ask for a cup of ice water for the kids when we are traveling. The cashier didnt want to get water from the tap and asked me to buy bottled water. I said, No, and asked again for a cup of water. I was buying a cup of coffee and it wasnt like I was coming in there just to use the bathroom and getting free water. Maybe I am off base, but after reading the other reviews, I feel justified now. My Yelp profile is old... I used to live in Somerville, but I now live in Easton. I go through this drive-through 4/5 days a week, and have been through many other Dunkin's throughout my life, and this one is by far the best! No matter who you get, everyone is friendly, professional, and fast. Even with 4-5 cars ahead of me, I've rarely had to wait more than a couple minutes. Highly recommend! read more

It's not just that the coffees are very good reliably strong, which I like, but it's also the fact that Starbucks attracts people who seriously enjoy coffee as well as the ability to sit and chat and socialize. Socializing while having coffee is one of my favorite past times. I have for many years gone to this particular Starbucks in Hingham. And over the years I've made many true and long lasting friendships. So the friendships and the coffee savoring continue. The ambience at the Derby Street location is comfortable and clean. The manager has told us that we will be getting new furniture there soon. Notice how include myself by use of the word "we". I look forward to this. My favorite coffee is not one of the fancier ones: it's a dark roast with extra cream and sugar. However, I also truly enjoy an iced lavender latte with lavender foam, a drink that is not only tasty but beautiful. I also like to have an iced caramel macchiato for a treat. If you wanna have an especially yummy pastry, I recommend Yuzu Citrus Blossom croissant. It's a flaky pastry filled with a zesty, creamy citrus filling that tastes like lemon. Delicious! Finally, I truly recommend this particular Starbucks because the manager is so good that there's very rarely a turnover in staff. This says a lot about management. As a friend of mine likes to say people don't quit their jobs. They quit their managers. This Starbucks location is the Java equivalent of the Cheers bar. Come join the festivities!

When we finally did ask someone about our order, we were essentially scolded in front of the entire restaurant for not speaking up sooner. We weren't frustrated about the wait. We were genuinely just asking how the online order process worked. The customer sitting at a table behind us even turned around to acknowledge how hostile the interaction felt. One great barista and one rough interaction, just sharing so the experience doesn't get repeated. I think next time I'll take the drive to the Dedham location or the well worth wait at Spot (always a good service experience there... despite how busy they always are).
