a christmas tree in a living room
    Scott O.

Five years I've been buying Christmas trees and drooling over the homemade mini donuts. It doesn't matter if it's busy or not (mostly bustling) you will be greeted with smiles and welcomes from the hard working young men and women. Everyone of them is hustling around helping everyone. It literally takes me five minutes (sometimes less) to find the most perfect tree. Within seconds someone comes to you and asks if you found the right tree. They give you the ticket and take the tree to have it perfectly cut and netted for the trip home. While at the barn to purchase you can buy just about anything you need (tree bag, wreaths, Charlie Brown Christmas trees, tree stands, etc.). Don't forget to get hot cider and the hot, fresh donuts are delectable! As soon as you are done, the tree is ready and waiting for you with a eagerly waiting helper ready to put your tree on your car and rope it on or load it into your car. Every tree I have ever purchased has been perfect in every way, never has ever been an issue with bugs. I have always wanted a fake tree, but just can't do it. Having this amazing farm and experience each year is what I love. If you have not been, please try it, it's amazing!

I am very late at posting this review but what an adorable little family style farm! We came here to cut our Christmas tree down this year, we didn't end up cutting a tree down because the trees were smaller than what we needed for our living room we found the most beautiful perfect Christmas tree! It was fresh and sappy and the prices were very reasonable! The service was excellent and everyone was very helpful! This is our new family Christmas tree tradition!

    "Apple cider donuts"

These are the "apple cider donuts" at Pakeen Farm. Is this a joke? $6 for a dozen of these calamari shaped rings the size of my finger. These are not donuts. Disappointed.

Want to support a local farm when it comes to getting your Christmas tree and not a big box store? This is your place. We've been going here for a few years because my boyfriend is a Canton firefighter and wants to support a local business in his work area. For trees you have two options: cut down your own (you can walk up the hill and select your tree and they'll chop it down for you). Super local! OR you can buy one of the pre-cut trees ready to go in the parking lot. The quality is much better and you get a better variety. The only catch is that most of these trees aren't local, they too are shipped in from another state, so not much different than a tree you would get from a big box store, but at least the $ is going to the local farm and not a chain, and it supports them during the winter months when their income is very limited. When you check out you can also have the option to purchase wreaths, smaller trees, pine decorations, and hot chocolate/hot cider and cookies. I appreciate them having the hot cider (now if only they would offer a vegan cookie!). During the summer they offer a CSA, so if you are in Canton consider purchasing a share and getting your veggies from them. There aren't many local farms around anymore, so it's always great to go out of your way to keep them alive, and the green space from being developed for condos.

Woah system overload!…read more This place has sooooo much to do. Where do you even begin. Originally when I looked up prices, I was like this is a little pricey, but I still wanted to give the place a try and I'm so glad I did because the price does indeed match with how much they offer here. It was family fun day for me, my partner, my nephew and my sister. And we all equally had a good time there are things to do for all ages. The employees are sweet, even the people that are working the parking. Once you cross the little street (crossing guard there for you). There is a little shop inside that you can buy your apple cider. You can buy decorated pumpkins. They have quite a few things in here. I do recommend grabbing an apple cider. It's so yummy originally I started off with the personal one and then I ended up taking home a jug as well. If you need bracelets, which, if you look up online that can be for all the activities or most of the activities with exclusions of some. Either way I feel like the prices are great, and you can see what you and your family will and will not do especially in regards to the ages of maybe the children that you're bringing. Once we bought the tickets, we bought some food to feed the animals. That was $5.00 a cup. The only issue that I had with this is there are several animals here but the cup that I paid five dollars for it seems as though only the cows would eat that specific food. All the other animals wanted the corn which you needed quarters to buy the corn which came out of a machine and I did indeed bring quarters luckily. That's my only issue there pretty much me and everybody else there noticed that the animals were indeed fed very well so a lot of times they didn't want to eat from you, but they did prefer the corn over the food that we bought in the cups. Now to animals, they have cows, llamas chickens, and the list goes on. I did love the mix and the variety of animals and so did my nephew. He especially loved feeding the cows because they have tubes where you put the food in that leads into the cow bowls that they eat out of he was fascinated by it. Now to activities, this is a real farm with so much land and there's so many things to do everywhere you go, especially for kids. They had swings hanging from trees, but they looked more like hammocks, which was pretty cool. They had a sandbox station where the kids can dig and build. They had huge haystacks that you could climb and take pictures on some of them were small, some of them were huge. They have a huge inflatable pumpkin that's like a bouncy for the kids, but that's age permitting for that one. They also have the tractor-trailer which we all did enjoy and that will bring you to the corn maze and the race track. The racetrack has several different bikes on it for all ages, including the Littles. And they do have two corn mazes. We only did one and we did enjoy it, even my nephew (he's 3). I feel like every employee that I ran into here also was very kind, sincere and genuine answered any questions that I had and directed you very easily to where you needed to go. I just wanted to make this very clear because I noticed this often. They also do have food and a beer garden, but we opted out of those things. They also do have quite a few things where you can use as photo ops, which is really cute. This review would be extremely long if I continued because there's just so much to do I think looking it up would be the best bet but we really did have a good time. It was a lot of fun even though there was kids running around everywhere it's not overstimulating. It's actually so large that everybody gets to have fun and there's so much sharing going on here. And they also have a pumpkin patch area. It's not like the tractor trailer takes you to the pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch is actually right there when you first enter so we opted out of that but otherwise we absolutely loved it and we will be back but just be mindful your phone does not work here. You do not have any service, but that's beautiful because you can stay in the moment with your family.

Especially because it did not include the hayride, additional corn mazes, feed for the animals, or a pumpkin to take home. With all that being said, my five year did have a really fun time. My son loved climbing the tire and sand mountain. He did that so many times! He liked the corn maze, but pointed out it wasn't a maze and was just a corn path. Would have been better if they had some dead ends and different paths along the way. He also really loved their giant jack-o-lantern bounce thing. We did buy feed for the animals, but I'd say it's definitely not worth it. The animals were all super stuffed so no one really wanted to eat anything! We also did buy the apple cider donuts, which I probably wouldn't' buy again. They were super greasy and didn't taste super fresh. Would have been awesome if they were warm! We didn't get to check out the beer garden this go around, but definitely looked like a great area of the farm. I would go back, but I just wish the whole place was included in the $18pp price tag.

The apples were great quality and were delicious to eat and bake with later in the week. We parked a little far out from the entrance based on how busy it was (Sunday afternoon), but it was an easy walk. A lot of the apples that were ready to be picked and of good quality were at the top of the trees. I wish they offered ladders or picker tools to allow people to get good apples that can't be reached otherwise. Also, they had run out of apple cider donuts, which was a shame. We got some apple cider and fresh raspberries to take home, which were also both delicious. I would definitely pick our own raspberries next year if we return. We would definitely go back for a fun Fall activity each year!

I thought the layout was easy to follow and very organized. The space across the orchard was truly maximized. Rows upon rows of beautiful apples waiting to be picked. This weekend 9/15, Honeycrisp, Cortland, Gala, Liberty and McIntosh were ready for picking. My wife and I are apple feinds eating 1 or 2 a day each. We had the fridge space for cold storage so we did 1/2 bushel which hits you @ $55. We ended up getting 24.5lbs of apples which came out to $2.24/lb. Not bad for fresh off the tree. If you don't eat as many apples, it is a little on the price side because here are the prices: 1/2 bushel ($55 = admission for 5) 1 peck ($35 = admission for 3) 1/2 peck ($17.50 = admission for 1) 1/4 peck ($15.00 I think? = 1 child 10 and under) Quantity is certainly your friend here. Not an issue for us because we eat so many (enjoyed over 4 while picking em.... They were good and couldn't help myself). We also grabbed some apple cider donuts on the way out. 1/2 dozen for $11 and they're the best apple cider donuts I've ever had. They actually tasted like apple and not just straight up sugar. Heat up in the microwave for 10 seconds before enjoying and chefs kiss. Will be back here in a month! Looking forward to some fuji and evercrisp!

I see that a couple other reviewers had the same experience as well so it doesn't seem to be a one-off moment. We came here for a Christmas tree and were pleasantly surprised by the selection (December 7th) of really good quality trees and lower prices compared to other places we've bought from in the past (ranging from $60-$80ish). Of note they take cash or check only, they do have an ATM, and the prices listed are a few dollars short of the actual price you'll pay. The teenagers working at the tree stand were very pleasant and got a fresh cut on the tree and strapped it to our car securely and efficiently. The turn for the worse came when we went to pay. The women was talking to us like we were children which was very odd and belittling (hard to portray tone but for example when I handed her the cash she went '$70, oh good job!') then when handing me back change she goes 'and your change to the food pantry?' and drops my change in a donation bucket before even finishing the question...I literally was reaching my hand out to receive the change and she just decided not to give it to me or let me answer the question. I was honestly pissed off about that. It's my money to choose what to do with and socially, how rude is it to put people in a position to have to fish their change out of a donation bin if they hadn't wanted to donate it? Overall, the woman at the checkout really tainted this place for me by straight up not giving me my change back and I don't plan to return.
