So this is a combination location between Dunkin' and Baskin Robbin's. We came for the ice cream. The employee was attentive and did a good job scooping and serving us. The only issue came from the strange setup of having to pay at the coffee counter. So we were behind a super indecisive person so it took a while to pay. Luckily the ice cream was pretty solid and didn't melt while we waited. The lobby at first glance was clean but the tables were sticky. It wasn't crowded so we didn't feel rushed. Overall it was ok.

I came to try the new une/coconut swirl ice cream. Ordered two scoops in a cup, this is what I got! That looks like one big scoop, I even showed the lady that did my order and asked " is this two scoops?" She said yes, so I did not think this is two scoops that is almost $6 in price. I now remember why I stop coming to Dunkin. Great taste! Just way too high for very little food!

    NO DONUTS!

True story. This photo was taken on 12/16/2021 @ 3:47pm. They had NO DONUTS! The very being of their existence and none to be found. Wow! I asked why they had none and they stated they do not make them in house, rather they come in a truck which would not be in until tomorrow. We opted for ice cream, however it was melted and cones were stale. To add insult to injury, they had no rocky road, empty buckets still in the showcase, no descriptions of ice cream to identify what was what. As if that wasn't enough, they did not have waffle cones, which again is your other money maker. Go the the grocery store, they can't make time to offer anything that they advertise, so take your money and family elsewhere.

My favorite East coast coffee chain finally expanding in Texas. Best Chain coffee out there hands down.

I do like their coffee, but I balk at paying a buck for one donut. Besides, they are frozen, thawed and filled.

I received good service from a lady named Sylvia, had been seeing the drinks on tv and didn't know what to get.

It's comfortable and the smell of coffee along with a bunch of home made goodies make your coffee outing a special event. There is a great menu to Pick from including the recent addition of a salad bar. As you wait to order, there are some things to look at from local sellers and buy. Going into the seating area, there tables and some little nooks to meet a friend or work from. It's a place you can find the hours pass. The only downside is side is the lack of a sign at the front entrance that the owner is feverishly trying to get approval on. It's a bit disheartening to see a small business owner have to wait to have something approved that would increase their visibility and have their business grow. I am not sure what official dept in Bastrop that takes care of it, but they need to do it for this great little place to be more noticeable. They also hold special events here too.

They have gluten free options as well as vegan options and options for those who can have gluten. I went there for three out of the six days that I was on vacation in that area. I had originally wanted a chocolate chip cookie, but they didn't do just regular gluten free ones. However they did have gluten free peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. I'm not a big fan of peanut butter, but I thought I would try it since I was really craving a cookie. I had just the one, and it was so so so good! It didn't taste overly of peanut butter which was a win for me! It had just the right amount of peanut butter and chocolate chips. It was crispy around the edges and chewy towards the middle. I went back that same day and got two more of those cookies. The other days I went I got the same thing. One day, I did try their gluten free apple butter bar which was just as amazing! Service was fantastic! Each day I went, there was someone I hadn't seen before working. Each of them were super nice and friendly. The bakery itself had a very calm ambiance about it. It had a lot of space inside if you wanted to eat your meal or dessert inside or you could get it to go. I also love how Tough Cookie Bakery supports the LGBTQ+ community. There was a pride flag painted outside of the bakery, and that just made me love the place that much more! I would definitely recommend Tough Cookie Bakery in Bastrop. I can't wait to go back once we're back in the area at the end of this month.

The only letdown was finding out that the ice cream isn't homemade or unique to the shop--it's just Blue Bell. Now, as a lifelong Blue Bell fan, I'll never turn it down, but with a place that has so much originality and character, we were hoping for a menu that reflected that same spirit. Still, it's a cute spot and worth a visit for the atmosphere alone.
