Out of 12 donuts ordered, 8 were incorrect (not even close to what we ordered, either). They could not have cared less.

I went with just my two children (5 and 9). We had to wait in line to check in, but then we were seated right away. I noticed larger parties had to wait a little bit, but not long. When you check in with the hostess, they explain how everything works and what's included in your price. Then you can order additional drinks with the hostess. You pay right at the hostess stand before being seated which was kind of cool, so you don't have to worry about it later. You also have the option to tip before or after. Once you sit you are brought any included drinks (white milk, apple juice, orange juice, coffee), purchased drinks (chocolate milk, lattes, etc), and donuts. The donuts were fantastic. I asked for a decaf latte but they didn't have decaf. The latte was still good. They then bring out small plates of ham, sausage, eggs, biscuits with gravy, and pancakes. All of it was delicious. Your wait staff checks in with you consistently and asks if you want any refills on food. It's all you can eat! Of course on your way out you have to check out the fun gift shop!

The dining area felt quite crowded, which made it a little uncomfortable and harder to fully enjoy the experience. The donuts, while decent, were a bit too powdery for my taste and could have been better in texture and balance. That said, there were also some strong positives. The variety of different dishes was enjoyable, and many of them tasted really good. One standout was the potatoes--they were especially flavorful and well-prepared. On top of that, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was taken care of, which really added to the overall experience. In the end, while there are a few areas that could be improved, the combination of good food, great service, and standout items like the potatoes made it a solid dining experience.

I also took 2 cookies for later in the day. While i greatly enjoyed the breakfast i was disappointed in the peanut butter cookie. It wasn't fresh. It looked delicious and i was hopeful but it was hard and not pleasant to eat. Maybe it just had been in the cookie jar too long. I mean it is a bakery and cafe and should be fresh. Their easter cookies and pies in the display case looked AMAZING. I wish i had chosen one of tbose. Anyway, i would go back for breakfast and for pie or maybe one of tnose beautifully decorated easter cookies. But the peanut butter cookie - i will pass on that. Staff were very nice!

A favorite dish seems to be the Alaskan waffle which is topped with ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. We ate breakfast here and have stopped in a few times just to pick up some bakery items. We love the banana cream pie cup, lemon curd bread, turtle lava cake and chocolate covered Twinkie's. Service can be slow (by Milwaukee/city standards) but everything is served hot and to order. There is typically one waitress working too so keep that in mind. Cash payment is preferred and there is a small surcharge for credit card purchases. They have weekly bingo games and you seat yourself if you want to dine in. This is a breakfast / lunch spot as they are not open during dinner hours. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Adams County or camping at Roche-a-Cri state park nearby.

We opted to sit at the bar to eat sooner; it's made of beautiful sculpted wood facing a cute tiled wall. Our waitstaff was so nice and helpful despite being extremely busy with constant orders. I had a mushroom, spinach, and cheese omelette with wheat toast and the signature breakfast salad with warm bacon and onion dressing. The salad is DELICIOUS and I highly recommend it. The omelet was decent-I prefer my ingredients inside the omelet and this restaurant serves the ingredients on top, so it's a preference thing. Anyway, if you are hanging around the downtown Dells, definitely check out this cafe, but be patient because a lot of other folks are, too!

It's hard to find one around here anyway--in all the time I've lived in Chicago I have only found them a few times, and usually they have a stop of bacon on them (yuck), so finding one that was true to origins made me happy. And it was pretty good! It was pretty fluffy, and I've had ones that are much more dense and not as tasty. The cinnamon roll was just ok. I think that's mostly because I didn't like the icing; I think it was a pretty simple one made of powdered sugar, but I prefer a different type. The maple frosted fritter was disappointing. The woman working was nice enough. They did have lots of items to choose from and I couldn't decide so that's why I got a few things to haves a few bites of each. The price was outstanding, and that was nice too! They have lots of breads here, as well as hamburger and hot dog buns, and if I was heading to a picnic I'd get some to take along.

The whole take was only around $17.00. Incredible price and incredible product! It's a good thing I don't live nearby....

We just stopped in to get apples and treats but they also have apple picking in their orchards across the way, lunch (brats truck) on their back deck, farm animals, and a beautiful back lawn to enjoy a picnic. Ski Hi has something for everyone including kids. I think they have the best caramel apples! Their apple cider donuts are amazing as well. They have many treats to choose from including apple turnovers, apple pies, apple cider, etc. They also have a wide variety of apples you can either pick or buy by the bag. My favs are the macintosh. They have multiple check out areas around their retail space so the lines move quickly. I regret not getting a tshirt, they are so cute. There's lots to see in their retail space, it's always fun to look at everything. After you get your purchases I recommend eating your caramel apple on a picnic bench on their lawn space. Beautiful views! Highly recommend!

This was my first time visiting Pleasant View Bakery after hearing great things from my neighbors…read more It's definitely a long drive, it made for a fun little field trip to rural WI, especially Amish country! When we arrived, we noticed a large parking area. The bakery is housed in a charming blue-and-white building. We didn't realize we could park right next to it, so we ended up parking farther away and walking about 3-4 minutes. Not a big deal, but since it was around 90°F that day, parking closer would have been nice! There's a small sign on the ground pointing to the bakery, and next to it is a lovely picnic area with a few tables and chairs. When we arrived, there was a small bucket with $.50 each zucchini and a beautiful garden nearby. About 20 people were ahead of us in queue but the line moved quickly--we waited roughly 20 minutes. The bakery itself is inside a small house. As you enter, shelves of fresh bread loaves line the right side, while jams and other pickled items are displayed on the left. The register is straight ahead, and behind it is the kitchen where we saw women braiding dough for pretzels--made fresh on-site! The pretzels are huge and cost $3.50 each. We bought one, and it was soft, chewy, and delicious. They also offer an assortment of baked goods like fruit pies (individual and full-size), cinnamon rolls, caramel rolls, and more. The cinnamon rolls are what they're known for, so we grabbed a couple, and my husband really enjoyed his. Near the register, they also sell day-old pastries at a discount, which is a great way to sample more items. One thing to note: they do not accept credit cards--cash only. As an Amish bakery, there's no electricity, so the space is naturally lit and a bit dim inside, but surprisingly not too hot even without air conditioning. Overall, it was a lovely experience. The baked goods were tasty, the setting was peaceful, and the atmosphere felt authentic and welcoming. We'd definitely stop by again if we're in the area.
