We began our time together with his evaluating my rifle which I had never fired. He recommended numerous improvements which made all the difference in the world during the actual training and shooting. He was excellent with spending the time to sight in the new red dot he recommended. I had purchased another rifle from a gun store that said the Bushnell scope would be "sighted in". Well, they must have hired a deer to do it. Wouldn't even hit the target. Chris made several necessary adjustments. That deer will not be happy. As a result of our time together, I am completely comfortable using the rifle we focused on. To keep some of the lesson top of mind, I did some filming. Chris is extremely patient and caring. No pressure and when I missed something we had previously worked on, he was great. With all of his years of experience in the military, SWAT teams, and police departments, serving and training, he definitely knows what he is doing. It is highly likely that other trainers could have huge egos, not Chris!!! Don't look any further for a trainer, if you are reading this, you found your guy. I will be back for my handgun refresher and some more rifle. The time we spent together was definitely not enough.

This isn't law enforcement. If you're running NFA gear, expect this kind of power tripping nonsense here. I cancelled my membership today. 1 star, and that's being generous. Two separate range safety officers have demanded to see my ATF tax documents for my fully legal firearms. I was told that the owner doesn't allow anyone to shoot class 3 weapons without presenting their tax forms to staff (I brought a legal silencer and SBR). I was also told that this is for my own protection because I don't know the rules/regulations. Myself and the gun community don't appreciate this overreach. While I understand that a private business can make their own rules within reason, treating customers like they are criminal or incompetent isn't the way to keep business. I don't need protection from you, I'm fully aware of the rules, and the fact that you don't have the right as an FFL to demand my private tax documents. If you are in the class 3 community - steer clear of this range. They are playing ATF Agent. I'll take my business to other ranges that don't trample my freedoms.

Ann Arbor Arms is THE BEST range, store, and training facility for anyone from novice to professional/competitive shooter. It had been YEARS since I had handled a firearm. My biggest apprehension was if I could remember how to be safe from handling to firing to range. I joined A3 as an elite member last year but finally "pulled the trigger" (hehe) and signed up for a Ladies' Night last week. This was the best decision I could have made to reintroduce myself. Ladies' Night was from 5-7pm, with two hours of instruction and walk through before heading down to the range. Not only instruction but conversation, snacks and a safe space for women to ask any questions. A3 provided the sidearms and ammo. Everyone had a great time and was able to fire 12 shots at a target provided. I left with a lot more confidence to visit and expand my skill by leveraging the elite membership. I cannot say enough of how fantastic A3 is for a gun owner. They have tons of specials, sales, events and the membership perks are amazing. This was not my first visit or class but this was the first time I ever fired at this range. Hit me up if you have any questions or want to get a membership. The range staff keeps a close eye on the range and addresses issues to prevent a safety issue. The ranges are temperature controlled and in great working order. They are suitable for pistol or initial rifle setup but you really need an outdoor 100 yard range if you want to dial in for hunting. I have not taken any classes there yet but have heard good things from others. They can take your from the basics to advanced. I see the shooters who have taken classes and it shows.
