Buyers beware -- serious misrepresentation. I bought a 1989 Ford Bronco from Duncan Motor Sales through Bring a Trailer. It was advertised as rust-free and road-ready but arrived with severe hidden rust, frame corrosion, and nonfunctional 4×4 and electrical systems. After multiple emails and texts, I received no real response or resolution. I've since filed a complaint with the New York Attorney General's Office. Have to put final comments on this purchase. After winning bid, had vehicle shipped 2000+ miles. Upon offload and taking receipt of vehicle, discovered the following, check engine light on and stayed on, (and verified by truck driver when he unloaded vehicle) no air conditioning, and windshield wiper on passenger side wiper blade cracked/broken upon using washer fluid and wipers to clean windshield. Difficult to believe this was a servicable vehicle as represented by seller as following was discovered after having codes read, P0158/P0161 bank 2 sensor 2 heater circuit and voltage codes, P0208 cylinder injector circuit, and P0456 EVAP system issue. In addition, next time air conditioning was attempted to turn on, blower motor and other ac controls found completely inoperative. Adding insult to injury, 30 day warranty only cover power train issues and not the conditions found. Nothing from Duncan Motors regarding these issues found immediately upon receipt of vehicle and starting up for first time. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE PURCHASING A VEHICLE FROM CHRISTIAN AT DUNCAN MOTORS. It appears to be a LEMON lot of vehicles they are trying to sell on BaT. Will complain on their website and to Better Business Bureau in hopes of preventing at least one person from being ripped off by this used car dealership in the future. The vehicle was in very good condition with low miles. The van was a good price and was delivered right to my door. Sold me a car on BaT. Was misrepresented as clean with no issues. The car is unsafe to drive due to the engine cradle rotting out from rust. Rust that was sprayed over with undercoating. It is going to cost 3k to fix that and it may still not be a safe vehicle. Offered to pay the seller their cost on the car and ship back to them so they can complete the repairs and sell again. Has since stopped responding. Should be noted that the vehicle passed NY state inspection at this man's other wholesaler business Lifetime Motors and then sold to Duncan for resale. Shell game of predatory dealer practices? Held out on reviewing until I was certain I was getting no more attention from the seller. Buyers, please be careful. Get a pre purchase inspection from a third party and take any claims about the vehicle from the seller with a grain of salt. read more

I found a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria online at Duncan Motor Car. I live in a different state. I was able to complete the transaction via email, text, and phone. Chris and Mike treated me fairly, answering all of my many questions regarding condition of the vehicle. They had the CV ready for the transport vehicle on time. When I received the vehicle it was in great shape and drove very well. It's always a roll of the dice when buying online and can't test drive the vehicle you are interested in. First lets just start by saying, I am a woman. I called Duncan Motorcar concerning a black Nissan Xterra I was really interested in. I've owned these suv's in the past and I REALLY wanted another one, so when I saw this one in the lot, I was EXTREMELY excited about looking at it, as they are hard to find. Unfortunately, that is where my excitment ended. No one was in the office when I stopped by but, no worries, there was a number listed. I decided to call first thing, next day. I called around 9 am that Tuesday. No answer. Again, no worries. It happens. A few hours later, a man named Chris called back. I CLEARLY stated, I was interested in the NISSAN XTERRA on DELAWARE AVE. We set up a time to meet and see the car the next day, which would have been Wednesday. I take off work, show up at the appointed time and no one is there. I wait a half hour, still no one shows. I call Chris back, and HE sounds annoyed. He said that he was out test driving with another prospect in ANGOLA! I'm like, huh? He said, you wanted to see the Nissan TITAN in Angola right? Trust me, it gets worse from there. After receiving no apology whatsoever for wasting my time, he finally asks, why wasn't his sales guy (Eric I believe), there. He said, "let me call him". After waiting another 10 mins, no response. I call Chris again and he says, he will text me his number. Wow. I guess I work for them say this point. I called Eric and right off the bat, he sounded irritated that I had the nerve to want a car. His exact words were, " Well, I can't sit around there all day waiting for someone to stop in and buy a car". Whoa, I thought that was your job! I remained calm and cordial however, and told him I would just come back Friday at 10am and try again. Everyone has a bad day, so I figured that was the issue. Friday comes, I call before I head out just to be sure he is up, in a better mood and ready to sell a vehicle. Guess what? No answer and guess what again? I NEVER received a call back. I was never rude, disrespectful or upset. I remained calm and professional even after NEVER receiving an apology or the respect I feel would have been given to a man. I literally bent over backward for these guys who didn't deserve a minute of my time. The Xterra stayed on that lot for about 2 weeks. When I drove by yesterday, it was gone. I'm willing to bet, it was sold to a man. They probably shinned his shoes and cleaned his house after kissing his you know what, to get a sale. If you are a woman, I would suggest taking you're business else where. I found a Nissan Pathfinder at another used car dealer with less miles and the salesman was WONDERFUL. He took the car to a mechanic of MY choice, just to make sure I was happy with the car. Now THAT'S GOOD BUSINESS! Do not buy from this auto sales group! Bought a Subaru legacy from them and not even 4 months after purchasing I had to replace the head gasket, radiator, and timing belt. Car has fairly low mileage for a Subaru. Needless to say, $3000 later it's finally up and running. My son bought a truck from them and 1 month later it was in the shop and they had it for 3 weeks before it was finally fixed. Do not deal with these crooks! They buy cars at auction, and subcontract the minimum amount of work they can get away with. They do not stand behind what they sell. I bought a used Lexus SUV here in July. When I went to pick it up 1. The AC was not working 2. The back up camera was not working 3. The tire pressure light was on 4. The check engine light was on 5. The brakes and rotors were in need of replacement When I initially looked at the vehicle, and left my deposit, they assured me all these things would be fixed. So I (stupidly) paid for the car, as it was already registered and insured to me. As I drove it off the lot the AC died. It took 4 trips back there (and two months!!) before everything was "done" per DAVE. The brakes were better. The AC worked. They had taken it to several different mechanics before someone finally fixed it. THEY HAD REMOVED THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS!! The back up camera still didn't work! Nice, especially considering that they share space with a car stereo and security business, who was supposedly fixing this. The air shocks, which came standard with this vehicle, had been removed. And because two months had elapsed since I took delivery, Dave said there was no recourse (the car had over 100k miles), and that's all they were going to do to it. Next step is small claims court. Stay away from these jerks. They represent everything we hate about used car salesmen. read more

Don't buy from Duncan, if you do you will hate the day you did, stay away from Duncan their cars are junks and their services is horrible horrendous the worst the worst of the worst, all they care about that you get a pre-approval and make the sale happen and cut you loose. just now NEW Honestly wish I could give ZERO stars! Way to fit the stereotype of "used car dealer". Bought a 2007 Tundra in April of 2020. Covid was going on so couldn't test drive it. Chris said how he grew up with and knew a bunch of my family so I trusted him. The day I went to look at the truck he came flying through the parking lot in a newer Fire Explorer, blasting through potholes, peeling out and slamming in the brakes. I told him he had a light out and his response was "I don't give a $hit, I'm not buying this. The truck was filled with dog hair and smelled like wet dog... it was not like that the first time I looked at it the very night it was dropped off and not even listed for sale yet. When I picked it up the tire pressure light was on, yet it was just inspected??? The truck shook so bad on my drive home I had to go and get the tires balanced, cost me $250 because they were oversized wheels and tires. The first month his mechanic had it 3 times because of the belt. He put it on wrong EVERYTIME, I ended up fixing it myself. Next month it goes into limp mode and won't go over 30mph, I had to put a tow claim on my insurance to get it to his shop. After that 2 converters blew out causing the check engine light. Replaced all 4 brakes because they were so rusted and grinding, new tie rods, the gas tank FELL OFF on my way home from Ellicotville! List goes on, I've put about $5000 into this $13000 truck. I've only been able to drive it for a year because the speed sensor went out, was so rusted the entire hub/wheel assembly would've had to be replaced. The 4wheel drive worked for ONE winter. It sits on the side of my yard until I pay it off this April of 2023! Almost $19-$20,000 invested into this truck just so I can scrap it in 2 months!!! Can't sell it since there are NINE, yes 9 warning lights on my dashboard! read more

I bought a 2008 Colorado pickup April 2022. In March 2023 I took it to get it ready for inspection. The mechanic told me it wouldn't pass and that I should stop driving it immediately because the frame was cracked in one place, severely rusted through in several areas and the transmission mount crossbeam was ready to let go. This truck was inspected by Duncan in April 2022 and passed? This was my second truck purchase from Duncan and it will be the last.
