I was to bring my car in Wednesday as early as possible. So after giving them two days notice, they didn't have the tires on hand, and after paying $170 for a "inspection" was told that I needed an alignment, and new tires, and a back tire only had 5 psi... Strangely they assumed that I would leave my car in the parking lot until the next morning. (unlocked, as I discovered) but needing transportation, I left. After driving a few minutes, I checked my tire pressure and found it still had 5 psi. So I called them and asked if they put air in the tire and the response was no because we thought you were going to replace them. (but they didn't have them, even though they had two days notice to get at least two)... returned the next morning. I asked the owner as he arrived to work Thursday morning if it was reasonable to be without transportation for 30+ hours for a couple of tires and a wheel alignment? He replied that it wasn't uncommon! I don't think that is a reasonable standard for any shop! NEWPORT AUTO "home of the 36 hour alignment" I have since found out they often overcharge and under deliver. take your car elsewhere, don't fall victim to this greedy gouge master

Nothing but misleading communication and lies from these guys. Paid $1000 to DIAGNOSE a misfire, which should be a couple hours of work tops. They bill extra hours and don't do the work that they say they will. Wanted to charge an extra 1.5 hours of labor to put my car back together on top of the 8 hours of labor they billed for a simple diagnosis. That simple diagnosis got completed at another shop in 3 hours and i didn't have to wait around for 2 weeks before they touched my car. They also yanked fuses from my car for no reason and left them hidden in the interior (a sick joke for the less mechanically inclined!?) No response from them when i asked why they even opened my fuse box. A shame to the squamish community that we have shady shops like this in operation. Save yourself the headache, keep some cash in your pockets and get your car running quicker by bringing it ANYWHERE other then Newport Auto

Mechanic could not get the sensors to respond to the truck. Tried numerous times to link the aftermarket sensors to the truck computer, with no success, as a result truck is currently now not running. My wife and I own 1 vehicle only, with my wife and kid now stuck. Thanks!!!

Not only was the general customer service at the front desk subpar at best, but I was told (at length and with MAJOR condescending attitude) about my low engine oil, but the warning lights were completely dismissed as irrelevant. I had a very unprofessional experience at this shop. I brought my vehicle in for an estimate and…read morehad it towed due to a flat tire and battery issues. I received no follow-up until I contacted them myself, at which point they provided an unreasonably high estimate. When I declined to proceed with the repairs, they suggested scrapping the vehicle to waive the diagnostic fee--while also stating it was still a very good vehicle. I declined and said I would pay the diagnostic fee. Although I arranged to pick the vehicle up, the shop insisted on delivering it. We agreed on several drop-off times, but they never followed through. Almost two months after the vehicle was first dropped off, I discovered it unexpectedly parked at the end of my cul-de-sac. I had not been informed that it was being returned. I was also home at the time, and no one knocked or attempted to notify me. There was room in the driveway, but they left the vehicle on the street. After I reached out to ask where the key was, I was told (after I had already left on vacation) that the owner had left the vehicle unlocked, with the key under the mat. I asked them to please move it into the driveway--they never responded. I had to call BCAA to move it myself. The same tow truck driver who originally delivered the vehicle immediately noticed significant body damage that had not been there before. He confirmed that the vehicle was undamaged when he dropped it off at the shop and had photos to prove it. I tried to resolve this through email, but the shop's owner, Payden, refused to take responsibility and insisted on a phone or in-person conversation--something I declined in order to maintain a written record. When I indicated I would be filing a small claims dispute, he sent me a rude, defensive, and accusatory email. Since then, he has made a point of mockingly waving at me during school drop-offs where both our children attend. I would strongly caution anyone against using this shop. My experience was unprofessional, dismissive, and ultimately caused damage to my vehicle.
