Impriano Roofing & Siding - After

Impriano Roofing & Siding

If you ever find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing to deal with your homeowners…read moreinsurance following a tree swiping the back of your house, let me give you some advice. Last March 2024, during an especially windy day a country club's tree came down and whacked the rear of my house, starting from the highest roof, ripping down wires and landed on my detached garage where it sat until PECO could make it safe. I initially gave the go ahead for my insurer, who I'll call SF, to send out a contractor to assess the damage. Well someone came out, slapped a tarp on the hole in the garage, but seemed dismissive of the house damage. And then I heard nothing for the longest time. So, getting concerned I called Impriano to get their opinion, as is my right, since I had a good experience with them 13 years ago with a new roof. Jack Impriano came out and did a very thorough inspection finding a lot more damage than SF's contractor did, including a split rafter in the garage roof. He looked at the plan for repair that the adjuster had drawn up finding it completely inadequate, so he drew up his own. He basically worked directly with the adjuster, all while updating me about what was going on. There were many problems such as the SF contractor sending the wrong information to SF that led them to believe the work was complete when nothing was repaired. The contractors invoice included pictures that wasn't even my property. Jack Impriano handled everything, everything is repaired/replaced, their crew came out in the most inhospitable weather and did an excellent job. You could tell how well done my 13 year old roof was when shingles were removed. It's amazing how nice our new roof and siding looks. It's peace of mind working with a company that takes pride in their work, and there's good reason they've been around for so long. I didn't realize they also handle windows which is on my to do list. I don't think I would trust anyone else. Thank you Jack and Ed and the rest of your hard working crew, including the office, you guys were great, can't thank you enough.

Tom's General Contracting - Ole metal roofing with box gutters

Tom's General Contracting

Tom reliably showed up to give an estimate for gutter work on the roof of my house. He gave a price…read moreof $5,000 to replace all gutters and guards, as well as to clean the downspouts. That seemed like a lot of money for a day's work, but I said 'So be it' to myself. He added that the price might be higher if he had to buy new wood and metal to do the job well. He then said that he would be 'hands-on' but, as soon as he dropped off his workers, he left the job and didn't come back. When he returned days later, he told me that I owed him another $2,200. When I balked at this, he got testy and, so, lowered the additional charge to $1,700 ('because I want to work for you again,' he said). I challenged him to itemize the extra costs. He said that the additional wood was $300 and the additional metal was $500. I asked what accounted for the other $900 that he was demanding. 'Additional labor costs,' was his answer. I pointed out that his initial price had to have included the laborers' pay for the day - and they finished the job before 5 pm. Tom started sulking; then he became irate: 'Just give me the $5,000 - forget the rest.' It was a good ploy. I felt sorry for him, so I wrote a check for $6,000 - not the $7,200 that he wanted nor the $6,700 that he then proffered as a compromise. A qualified professional, who knows my house, said that $5,000 for new gutters and general maintenance of the system was a very high but not completely unreasonable charge for the work. But Tom's demand for an additional $2,200, then $1,700, was, this professional said, outrageous: 'He saw that you willingly paid the $5,000, so he figured that he could extract another couple of thousand from you.' I liked Tom personally but regret paying him what I did. I urge, then, whomever might hire him to be strong in negotiating about the job - and not to give in to his emotional ploys to price gouge.

I hired Tom and crew to perform repair of cedar siding and paint our sizable house. In an era when…read moremost contractors are more interested in replacement vs. repair, Tom's General Contracting was much, much more economical, was faster, and was the environmentally friendly solution as this project created much less waste. Top it off, the house looks fabulous! Overall Tom is very conscientious and his team were top notch tradesman. Having done a fair amount of remodeling, I'm very particular about the work being done and I it was all top notch. They are highly recommended!

The crew comes twice a year to clean out our massive guttering system and gives us a detailed report on anything they believe we might need to address on the roof. Their attention to detail is unparalleled. The team at Feathers seem fearless as they scale the massive house to get the job done. They are not just expert at what they do, but they are personable. Through the years, they have taken the time to get to know us, and how to better be of service. And they come in an emergency! Recently, with an unimaginable amount of rainwater, two gutters became clogged and within minutes there were pools of water some six inches deep on two second-floor porches. Understanding the gravity of the situation, Dave from Feathers arrived within the hour to address a potential flood. With his expertise, and his immediate and thoughtful work, the problem was resolved and there was no damage to the house. They are invaluable to us. No doubt about it.

I don't typically write these reviews, but I definitely want to jump on here and say Dale Rimmer…read morewas beyond amazing. I got his name and number from my vet actually so I had to cancel the appointment because water was pouring out of my ceiling which I thought was a roofing issue from my porch. It turned out that it was a heating pipe that split. My daughter told me that the floor upstairs was soaked. I ran upstairs I pulled up the carpet and it was scolding to the touch. There was a lot of steam coming off the floor. I ended up calling the fire company going way over the extreme, but by that point I had already called Dale Rimmer. He ended up getting here as fire company was leaving ( which was 20 minutes ) He did explain on the phone that it was probably just steam coming off the floor. He remained with me at the house until I had somebody able to come out and fix the pipe( the fire company turned off my boiler as it was pouring water into my house). I'm also leaving a review for my Fire company. I've never needed them in all my years living here, but they were downright amazing and the same thing with the police downright amazing. I cannot be thankful enough for my community and the fact that Dale was the voice a reason and calmness in my crazy day.!!!

We also had a new flagstone walkway installed and our deck refurbished. The new siding, gutters and downspouts completed the makeover of our home's exterior. Dale was personally involved and was quick to answer and questions or concerns we had. All of the people took pride in their work and the results show it.

Tom Orsato Jr recently sold the business to Bob, window tech and long time employee. Bob the new owner came out in May to assess 4 windows. Bob told me on May 19th it would be 2-6 weeks for new windows and parts for the 4 windows to be procured. Contacted Bob in July and again in September. Bob never followed up. Blamed me for not following up with him after he told me the parts would finally be in early September. Bob finally came back out today October 6th to fix the 4 windows. He was getting ready to leave when I brought to his attention he hadn't properly fixed one of the windows. He proceeded to tell me " he didn't need to service my windows" and "he was doing me a favor" . Blamed the previous owner for installing cheap windows. Worst customer service experience ever. He got loud in my house. He is not a professional. This is not the Delaware Valley Aluminum that people have trusted since 1954. Bob , the new owner, is a long time employee who is rude, unresponsive and blames the customer. One window won't go all the way up AFTER Bob FIXED IT. Disgraceful. I would look elsewhere. This is not a business you want to trust with your most valuable asset. You can see his work vehicle in my driveway. He didn't even inform me that he was unable to properly fix the window. He was just going to leave. I had unfortunately experienced his poor skills and craftsmanship when Bob was just an employee, so I knew I had to check the work prior to him leaving my home.
