Finally checked out Dumpling U and it didn't disappoint. The space is clean and inviting--great for a casual bite. What we ordered: 1. Deep Fried Shrimp Balls: Tasty shrimp filling with just the right amount of coating. 2. House Special Sausage Fried Rice: meal on its own! The Chinese sausage really makes this dish pop.  3. Pork Shumai: Standard but solid--definitely dip these in their house chili garlic oil to level them up!   4. House Special Pork Soup Dumplings: You can actually watch these being made fresh. Best enjoyed piping hot! Quick service, friendly staff and a great addition to the Stockton food scene. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Came into this place to celebrate someone's birthday that's craving dumplings. Our server is very friendly and attentive to us. Has plenty of seatings. It's pretty comfy kind of place. The food is really good. The fried rice is a bit on the salty side. But the rest is very good. I'll recommend this place who's in town.

Came here during the weekend. Was seated right away. The waitress was very kind and explained the menu to us. We picked an assortment of dishes to try. Each plate came out one at a time and was fresh. The food was really good. Flavorful and delicious. I was pretty impressed on how good the food was. After we were done eating I noticed a sign they had. They are the same business as the popular dumpling spot in Sacramento that I've frequented before that is award winning. This explains the authentic flavor. Staff was great. Medium size restaurant but had plenty of seating for us when we got there. Service was quick. The food was great. We'll definitely be coming back here again

The service here was prompt and the food came out pretty quick despite them being busy around lunch time. Everything was fresh and sooo good. Definitely coming back

Dumpling You rolls out a vibe that's cute, casual, and confidently operating in the "we know why you're here" lane. The team on deck is welcoming in that genuinely sweet, neighborhood-anchor way, and the elder iced tea moves at the speed of operational excellence--hit the table before I even finished my sentence. The pork shumai? A headline act. Juicy, well-seasoned, and steaming with enough swagger to justify the trip. The honey walnut prawns brought their own agenda--light, crisp, and so fresh they practically filed an HR complaint against my chopsticks. High-impact crunch, clean finish. The noodles landed in the "nice try, kid" category--serviceable but not portfolio-worthy. I wouldn't re-invest. And the pork bun, while sporting the right fluffy architecture, was understaffed in the filling department and could benefit from some resource reallocation.

Ordered to go Through Yelp but hoping one day to Dine in to enjoy the soup dumplings fresh and hot I would've gave a 5 star due to food was great but when I walked in and saw dusty air purifiers everywhere in their dining area kinda glad I got it to go. Please clean your air filters. On to the food while on lunch wanted something delicious and this is the closes to journey to The dumpling I'll get. Flavors to The soup dumplings was ok but could be better will try the spicy one next time. But my favorite flavor was the spicy wontons I would choose that over and over again a favorite in my book. They vinegar soy sauce with spicy oil was great with it. Service was also great! Must try if you love dumplings

Who would have thought one of the best dumpling spots is in Stockton? We enjoyed our meal so much here and ordered: *House Special Pork Soup Filled Dumplings *Crab and Pork Soup Filled Dumplings *Tan Tan Noodles *House Special Beef Roll Everything was delicious. Don't skip the House Special Pork Soup Filled Dumplings, it's so good. The crab one was also good, lots of crab taste compared to other dumpling spots. Our waitress was very nice and service was quick. She was attentive and filled our water when we were low. Made small talk with her and overall it was a pleasant experience. There were special items posted on the wall. Can't wait to come back when we're in the area.

I came here to try this dumpling spot out. We went towards the end of the night and it was still pretty busy. The business seemed to have a variety of groups from couples to big families. The food came out quick. It wasn't the best food, but it wasn't terrible either. I don't know if we would come back, but I would give it another chance before deciding if I was not truly a fan.

4/5 stars for Stockton standards, but 3/5 for Bay Area standards. It's nice that Stockton has a restaurant like this here! Ordered the jjajang noodles (black bean noodles, but this is Chinese style and not Korean!), house special pork soup dumplings, and the pork shumai. Everything was just okay. None of the items had anything special to them but none of them were bad either. I've just had better! The jjajang noodles were cooked al dente, had a nice chew to it and the sauce was slightly savory. I wish that there was more minced pork in the sauce but that's just a personal preference. Came with an ample amount of shredded cucumber which I appreciated. The chili oil that they offer on the table needs to be spicier though! The house special soup dumplings were delicious! No notes, I highly recommend everyone get these. The temperature inside was just right, not burn your mouth hot but just hot enough to still feel that epic satisfaction in your chest like a warm hug. The soup was savory and the minced pork inside was juicy. The pork shumai was nothing special. You could tell they were frozen and they just steamed them, definitely do not think these are made in house. This is my favorite item to get at dim sum, and I didn't care for these. You're better off going to the asian grocery store and buying yourself a pack of 12 for way cheaper than these 4 for $9! However, if you're too lazy to do that then these shumai will satisfy your craving. Service was exceptional! I personally won't be back because I've just had better, but if you're new to the dim sum and Chinese food world, you'll definitely enjoy dining here!

Though I am sad to see the previous food joint that closed up, I am glad this is what replaced this. Came during lunch time and it wasn't busy and got a table right away. Browsed the menu a bit and asked for a recommendation from our server to see which ones she'll suggest. What we ordered: House special pork and shrimp soup dumplings, House special beef roll, Pork Shumai, Honey Walnut Shrimp and House special Sausage Fried Rice. Their servings were good enough to share within your table, family style. The beef roll were so flaky and savory. Filled with meat that it falls off in every bite. Soup dumplings came in hot and steamy, burn your mouth goodness. Pork filling was steamed and seasoned perfectly. The sausage in the fried rice was salty and sweet that it balanced the oiliness and sweetness when combined with the rice. Honey walnut shrimps batter was still crunchy and the mayo/honey coating made it a balanced pair. It also has actual walnuts in them that some other place does not have. Our server were very helpful and recommended us some of our foods. We enjoyed our lunch here and will definitely be back for more.

Here you can enjoy the dumplings being made fresh to order. Great appetizer selections, sharing options and even better dumplings. Great friendly service and overall a clean location.

Best Chinese restaurant in Stockton. Love their house chow mein and bbq pork buns…read more Pretty authentic!

Friday, January 9th. Approx. 6:50 PM…read more OVERVIEW: Was at Lincoln Village to do some shopping, and wanted to try this restaurant for the first time and get some to-go food. Will probably go back again to give their Dim Sum a try. PROS: - GREAT LOCATION in the middle of Lincoln Village Shopping Center & lots of available parking spaces. - Ordered the Fried Garlic Chicken, Broccoli Beef & House Special Chow Mein. Good flavor & volume for the price. - This may be commonsensical, but while it was quite cold outside on this January evening, management kept the temperature of the dining area at a warm level. I bring this point up since a lot of restaurants in Stockton & Lodi have turned the thermostats of their dining areas down to cut overhead costs, but this place kept their dining area warm & comfy. CONS: - It seems obvious that they only have one chef working in their kitchen, since it took almost 30 minutes to complete my order. Sure, they had to serve other customers dining in, as well as handle a constant flow of pick-up orders, but since it was peak order time on a Friday night, they should have more staff in the kitchen to quickly support the order volume. - While I mentioned in the "PROS" section above, the food has good flavor and volume for the price. The downside is that the overall flavors are not outstanding nor memorable, which doesn't allow for much separation with other mainstream Chinese restaurants, serving the same dishes in Stockton. SUMMARY: If you're in the Lincoln Village area, want to eat Chinese food and are not in a particular hurry, this is a good place to park the car and sit down for a while. If you are in a hurry, better to phone in your order beforehand to cut the waiting time. Don't expect exotic food presentations and flavors, but don't expect massive damage to your wallet either.

Shoutout to Stockton, CA. Oriental Chef restaurant…read more I went for dinner with a large group of people. The majority of us never ate there before. So we were going in blind. We ordered multiple dishes.. The end verdict was ... the food was OMG delicious. Classic Cantonese. Anyways... onto the food. +Pork soup- it was simple and a good start to our meal. +Steamed sea bass - dished out from their tank. Steamed to perfection, topped with oil and sauce. Served whole. This was one of my faves. +Lobster-stir fried, chopped pieces. The lobster sauce was so yummy, you might find yourself licking the shell. +Sautéed greens- classic execution and flavor. +Chicken and green beans in black bean sauce-wok fried chicken and blistered green beans with that salty, deep black bean flavor. Mmm. +Beef and asparagus- tender slices of wok fried beef and asparagus in a light gravy sauce. Yum. + Roast duck- they only had half left. So if your heart is set on one, call ahead with your reservation. The duck was roasted to perfection having a classic crisp skin with deep flavors, moist succulent meat. +White cut chicken- a classic dish prepared well served with ginger oil. +Fried boneless chicken- Cantonese style fried chicken with its thick, fried crispy exterior and moist chicken. Eat this hot and fresh! +House chow mein - with thick noodles. Perfectly cooked noodles. A classic comfort dish prepared spot on. +Chicken salad with shredded chicken and jellyfish- shredded white cut chicken with shredded lettuce and jellyfish. The execution was a bit off; I tasted bit of shard bone. The customer service is attentive and polite with cool aloofness. However, the restaurant itself and the shopping plaza has definitely seen better days and could use a refresh. It has a neglected look. It tugs at my heart since I remember when this shopping plaza was first built.

It was well flavored, not too spicy or tangy Mu shu chicken - 4 pancakes with hoisin sauce. Our server wrapped our first ones for us. The hot & sour soup had a few little green onions for color but this is the first time I've been to a Chinese restaurant that doesn't overfill the dishes with onions (as I don't like onions). My personal staple when eating Chinese food is honey walnut prawns and theirs definitely hit the spot. The prawns were huge and perfectly fried before tossed in the sauce. Another staple is veggies so today we opted for the sautéed cabbage and it was simple yet so satisfying. My partner chose the Mongolian beef (extra spice) and chicken fried rice.
