Please Chef&Owner, correct this in the kitchen. Chop fresh cucumbers daily! ALMOST FELT LIKE SENDING another 2 dishes back. Both the garlic noodles were bland and not enough garlic and the Shanghai Fried noodles tasted just the garlic noodles but with a dark soy sauce . (When you have to tell your cousin "we'll just take it home and season it better" is a huge clue, they staff doesnt taste the food they cook. In house chili sauce (on the table) tasted off as well. Not sure what it was, but it wasn't great. House special beef rolls- meat was soo dry. Tasted dry old and it should have been boiled hot in broth before putting it on the roti. the cucumber salad in it tasted like it had sugar. It was weird sweet not in a good taste. Of course the Roti wrap was yummy- they dont make it. House special Soup spicy pork dumplings- the soup was pure pork fat grey solids- they use cheap pork ground meat. One bite and you see it. It wasn't sesoned to spicy and texture was off. DON'T TRY IT, even tho I enjoyed watching the lady in front front hand make some. Fried shrimp taro cake were okay with dipping sauce. Pan fried BEEF BAO wasn't anything special. Could go without these aswell. Honestly, 2 we liked the "dry fried Garlic greens beans" & "bok choy w/ garlic" & "braised pork with rice" were the best dishes. And the wontons (these aren't made in house) in chili sauce were good. Ok I'm updating my review. I decided to give them another chance with the jjajang. This time I got all the sauce, and it was good. Honestly though I would prefer even more sauce so that the noodles are practically black after it's all mixed in, but I guess I can always just ask for extra sauce next time. Imo the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) tasted blander than other places I have tried, but this might be their style. We can't wait to try other dishes! This place is so good and that house beef roll is amazing! That was my favorite dish and it's a meal all on its own it's fresh, crispy and the beef seasoned to perfection. The ambience of the restaurant is great they were playing early 2000's music like Monica, Ciara, Beyonce, etc., never care to have an opinion of the music choice, but I loved the choice. This was the go to spot for some good dumplings, until today. We picked up our to go order, went home and served ourselves. Literally with every bite, everyone was picking pieces of either cartilage or some hard chewy substance that was in the pieces of chicken inside the fried rice and also the ground meat in the spicy dumplings. Super disgusting and disappointing, especially because how expensive this place is. This was the second time this happened so in conclusion we can say this place has gone way down hill. We were helped by the owner's mom, who was there lending a hand and she was absolutely amazing. So friendly, warm, and knowledgeable! She told us she's Shanghainese and shared a bit about her background, which made everything feel extra special. She even helped us decide what to order and made great recommendations. She also let us know that the food takes a little while to come out because everything is made fresh, and you can taste it. It's 100% worth the wait. The food was incredible! Our favorites were the spicy pork soup dumplings and the Shanghai fried noodles, but we also loved the deep-fried gyoza and the pan-fried pork buns were good. The drinks were delicious too. We had the Honey Jasmine tea, and the 100% natural lemonade. I wish my phone hadn't died. I usually take pictures of meals this yummy! My mother-in-law loved it so much when she went with her brother, and then again with me today, she told the owner's mom this is going to be our Friday dumpling day, and I couldn't agree more. So excited for this place to open up in the Central Valley. I was feeling under the weather and didn't feel like cooking so I ordered take out. Since I was super excited about trying everything, I had a difficult time trying to figure out what I wanted. I eventually got myself together and ordered: pork soup dumplings, pork and crab soup dumplings, Taiwanese braised beef noodle soup, and fried green beans. The soup dumplings were jam packed with flavor but were on the salty side. The pork and crab dumplings were particularly tasty, but it does have a strong seafood taste to it. The beef noodle soup was hearty and very comforting. I wished the beef was more tender, my toddler had a little difficulty chewing through it but still enjoyed the dish. The green beans had red chili peppers on it, but surprisingly not too spicy. I knew this place was going to be legit because of the aunties behind the glass hand-making all the dumplings. We ordered to go and it came with utensils and napkins. The not so good: the soup dumplings had bamboo shoots and that was something I was not aware of. The bamboo shoots have a very distinct flavor that is a mix of ammonia and sulfur and I don't like that at all. I always ask for no bamboo shoots if that is an option but didn't know this was already mixed in with the filling. The dumpling has a thicker skin that sticks to each other in the container so when you try to pick one up, it tears and all the soup spills out unfortunately. If you tried the dumplings from 88 bao bao, the dumplings don't tear. read more

The portion size was quite a bit (there was more beef and noodles underneath), so it filled me up for sure. The noodles tasted fresh as well. It depends on your spice tolerance, but this dish was not spicy for me. However, they do have chili oil that you can add to make it more spicy. Their pricing is reasonable given the authenticity of their food. If you're unwilling to pay the price, stick to Chinese American takeout. The server was sweet and helpful. However, this new restaurant has both phenomenal service and food! The noodles in the spicy beef soup was deliciously bouncy and chewy with very rich broth. The scallion pancakes and the beef roll were fresh and freshly fried. The soup dumplings had good broth and would have loved them more if there were more soup in each dumpling. The service was great, the mother of the owner came to ask us how the food was and wanted to hear about how we liked the food and was receptive! She also was very kind and reminds me of my own attentive bubbly mother. It's that family-feel with the service when we visited.
