Overpriced, plain food, and bad service with no refunds . They also have no food allergy warnings and try to automatically charge you gratuity. You can't send back food and when to speak with a manager, I was told there wasn't one there. Attitude from servers. The red curry is advertised to have coconut milk and potatoes in them so when I told the person working at the counter that mine didn't have any he told me they "never have potatoes" and the "coconut milk is already in the premade sauce" so your paying high prices for the same curry paste you can buy at the Asian market without the creaminess. They also put the liquidy curry in a terrible container that leaked out and spilled in my car. They refused to fix my order or refund. read more

Simple but fashionable. I was stuck in the entry foyer for at least 10 minutes while a man argued with the girl who asked for his name while a table sat open. A man in front of me waited the same ten minutes to place a pick up order, but assured me the food was worth it...I was leaving...but I stayed. The phone rang off the hook-only to be answered one out of every four'ish times it rang. I wasn't counting but the phone rang non-stop and they did not answer it, rather each of the 3 people there blatantly ignored it. Frustrating for the customers eating in the small quarters. The food- the food was very good. It came out quickly and was hot. The drunken noodles were excellent and the fried rice was just as good. We tried the chicken soup, which came in a colossal sized bowl and it was excellent, as well. In short, this place needs managing. It could be a very successful sit down restaurant if it were run correctly. I am a very easygoing guy. I noticed most of the bad reviews of this place are whiny little princesses who get upset when their water doesn't get refilled fast enough. This review is actually about how the food tastes. How does it taste? I wouldn't know. I ate noodles, pot stickers, sweet/spicy chicken, and duck steamed bun, and none of it had even a little bit of flavor. I'm not even sure the food had any salt. Let me tell you about Gyoza/Pot stickers. They are made with ground pork, cabbage, a TON of garlic, にら, which I'm not sure what you call in english but it looks like green onions/chives, and other seasonings. They are supposed to be mind-numbingly tasty. These things tasted blander than food from a senior citizen's cafeteria INSIDE an airport. To my horror, I've realized this is the same company that operates Noodles + in White Plains. This restaurant puts the plain in white plains! Now, don't get me wrong, the service was fine, the food was acceptably edible, but it just isn't good enough to drive to, pay money, and eat at again. I heard about this place online, and the name alone was enough to convince me to make a trip out and give it a try. Immediately, I knew it was run by the same people that operate Noodle + in White Plains (which I initially loved). The menu at Dumpling + Noodle is far larger than that of Noodle +. We started with their scallion pancakes and the house special bun. Which is like a traditional bun, but with roast duck. As usual, the scallion pancakes were delicious, and the portion size was commendable. The house special bun, on the other hand, was really not very appetizing. The duck was difficult to bite, and we couldn't even manage to put a whole one down. I ordered the miso ramen, which I was very much looking forward to. The picture provided on the menu looked good enough and I am a very big fan of ramen. I was incredibly disappointed. Upon my initial bite/slurp, I found the broth to be horribly bland and the noodles the same. At first, I thought it was just poorly seasoned, maybe it needed more miso. The more I ate, the more I realized it was just dirty water in a bowl, it had no flavor whatsoever. Furthermore, the family at the table next to us with a 10 year old girl (total guess) also ordered the miso ramen for a dish. Which initially, I thought was a pretty intense meal for a little girl. Next thing I know, she's saying something to her parents about how it has no flavor. No shit. This place is really hit or miss. I would suggest staying away from anything involving broth and noodles. Dumpling + Noodle is just that: good quality Asian cuisine at reasonable prices in Westchester. I have ordered from here twice, and have been satisfied both times. In terms of FOOD, I can make the following recommendations: 1. TRY THE SOUP DUMPLINGS and the crab rangoon puff. Listen, the best soup dumplings I've had to date have been at Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown (which had also been recommended to me by some friends from Beijing and Shanghai, so there's no question about JS's quality), but the ones at Dumpling + Noodle are very satisfying and excellent for the price. The crab rangoon puffs are also very good. They have a flaky crust and are filled with crab, onion and cream cheese, a combination of sweet and savory that sounds gross but actually works pretty well. 2. THE DRUNKEN NOODLE WITH TOFU IS VERY SATISFYING. What makes a good drunken noodle? It is... (a) tangy with the right amount of soy sauce and garlic, (b) made with homemade noodles, and (c) made with fresh vegetables. Check, check, and check. 3. TRY A NEW DRINK EACH TIME. Perhaps my favorite part about having a pan-Southeast Asian restaurant in my neighborhood is the drink menu. Hello?! Taro milk tea? Thai iced tea with jelly?! Yes, please! I went to college in Queens, so I can tell you that there are few things that are quite as enjoyable as a tea-based drink with "bubble" or "jelly" in it. I really enjoyed the Thai iced tea with green tea jelly; it was refreshing, and the jelly tasted a little bit like mint. Granted, if you're not really into drinking "stuff" with your tea, skip the add-ons. In any case, I can't wait to try another jelly in my tea. In terms of DECOR, the space is very clean, bright and cozy. I love the contrast of the dark wood banquettes, tables, and chairs against the white brick walls. The metal wire ceiling lamps also have a very "objet trouvé" feel to them, as they remind me of cages that were used to transport hens from the coop to some Chinese slaughterhouse. IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. DON'T BITE INTO THE SOUP DUMPLINGS, as the soup they contain will burn your tongue. Instead, pierce the dumpling with your chopsticks, suck out the soup, and then proceed to eat the dumpling. 2. MIIIIIIIGHT NOT BE FOR THE GLUTEN-FREE, but call them and see if they can tailor an entree for you. read more

But these are an extremely close 2nd, or really a tie for 1st. AND the beef pho is pretty decent! You can't get decent pho anywhere else in Westchester. I've been waiting for a place like this and finally my prayers have been answered. It is however a little dangerous to have soup dumplings so close to home haha. We've been here twice in the month that it has been open and we have not been disappointed in the food yet, in fact it got even better the second time around. The service has been very friendly but you can tell they are still working out some little kinks but they make up for it with a small discount. They need to hire some more help. They are way too popular to be under staffed! If they start delivering they will need multiple runners. The amount of takeout that I see coming out of that place is astounding. Tonight they offered us a delicious dessert from Laos that I'm praying gets on the menu. It was what I think was coconut milk with tiny tapioca balls. They seemed to be doing a lot of take out orders that night as well. Our first time, we had a variety of small plates: a small order of BBQ ribs, the pork and vegetable dumplings, spring rolls, the house special dumpling, shrimp shumai and wonton soup. Not one of the dishes disappointed me, but we did walk away with liking the soup and the pork dumplings as our favorites. Just this past Friday, we went for some take out. Our wait was a little long, but if we called ahead, I am sure it would have felt less. This time our order was the following: Steamed pork soup buns, shrimp rolls, pork and vegetable buns, and a large roast duck and pork dumpling soup. The soup was tasty. The broth has good flavor and the roast duck was so delicious. But for those who never had it before, be mindful of the bones from the duck. Although it doesn't replace a trip to Chinatown, the food was good and the prices were reasonable that can order a few dishes to try. The menu doesn't seem to be entirely Chinese and there seems to be some soups and dishes that seem to be more Tai oriented, but good noodles and dumplings. There are not too many places in the area that offer these types of dishes, so it was refreshing to go to a Chinese place that didn't sell just the same old "General Tso Chicken" and "Fried Rice". If you are just in the mood for dumplings, they have great options. But the ramen and the pho are not that great. The $8.95 lunch special which includes a drink, salad, small entree and a dish is a bargain! We would recommend the special if you are looking to fill yourself up at lunch time. If you order a drink, go for the Thai Iced Tea, it was really good! Both the General Tao and Chicken Pad Thai dishes were delicious. The Pad Thai was not covered completely in peanut sauce (like some places) which is our preference. The service was courteous and quick. Sure, if you want really good dumplings you go to Flushing...but for Westchester, this place is great. I love that they deliver to my home in Eastchester! I only order delivery from them. I've never actually been inside, nor dined in, but from the outside it looks cute and quaint. I'm a big fan of their curry puffs and their various dumplings. My husband also really likes their dumplings. I've tried some of their entrees and soups, but nothing was really fantastic and worth raving about. I'm a fan of crab ragoon, but not crazy about the ones here. What I really love about this place is that they have various bubble teas and Thai ice tea! They have a great selection of these teas and that really brings up the rating for this place in my book!
