soup and chicken dumplings
Arianna R.

I loveee dumpling king. I switch between their steamed and fried dumplings. The service when you dine in is super attentive. Their chili oil also pairs so well with their dumplings. They also have boba and I've tried their taro in the past and it was so good! The prices are also fair and it's a lot of food

We came to Dumpling King to try their new lunch special menu, today we got 2 orders of soup dumplings and fried chicken. The portion was big enough to feed two of us as small lunch/snack. We really enjoyed the soup dumplings and the fried chicken. If you haven't tried their lunch special yet, please stop hesitating and stop by. It was worth our twenty minutes drive, hopefully it will be worth yours! Let me know how you enjoyed it. The plaza offers limited parking spaces. I cant imagine how hectic it will be if it gets a little busy, but I am sure you will figure something out. Yes I would recommend this place to others and I would definitely be back again in the near future!

Wondered into Dumpling King after a local appointment. Having never been to the area, I consulted my trusty Yelp app for reviews. After discovering it was highly rated, I happily walked up to the counter and placed my order with their self-service kiosks. It was around 3pm and no one was at the counter. I noticed one staff member in the corner of the restaurant refilling sauces. The place was basically empty. I figured this was normal for the time I got there. It's a comfortable fit for about 30 or so customers with a homey ambiance. I ordered the bubble tea and the spicy fish filet dip. As a side note, there is a special $3 discount for ordering 2 or more dumpling types. Being slightly hung over, I figured the soup was my best bet. It took about 15 mins for the food to come out. My soup was pipping hot and spicy! Hit the spot perfectly! Bubble tea was delicious. I've added this spot to my dumpling list and you should too!

Will return. Pretty surprised and very glad to find a dumpling spot in this neck of the woods -:). We've - juicy bums XLB - pork dumpling - spicy wonton: really spicy All are delicious; XLB's juice is clear. This is one of the chain shops scattered across Florida, offering both take-out and dine-in. You order from the machine on the left side of the counter. The restaurant is bright and clean. The service is good: the young man asked us if we'd like some black vinegar and hot water (he said yes to me, bringing in my tea, when the restaurant had only one other couple): Thanks. I'm wondering if the creator(s) are from northeast China: the fillings, especially the dumplings, are very solid, and the wontons are chubby. An Asian woman is making the dumplings behind the glass window. The small logo on their black plastic tableware is thoughtful and appreciated.

Only get to come here when I have a bowling match but that's probably a good thing. The food is phenomenal. Service isn't a strength but it doesn't have to be. You know the place is legit as soon as you walk in by the people that ignore you while they are scarfing down their dumplings So simple but the flavors smack you in the face. Could easily eat 14 of the steamed pork

Wow if you like dumplings this is your place. The Resturant is simple but clean. You order at the counter. They were so nice and helpful when ordering. We were a party of five and ordered many dishes. The meals are delivered to you on a cart. Lunch special was a rice with chicken, cashews and apple. Delicious!! Serval different types of soup dumplings, fried and bowled dumplings as well. Also ordered a meat egg roll which was crispy. All were cooked to perfection and very tasty. Two of us had boba drinks a mango and peach which were also very favorable. The tapioca Boba was a little hard though. Looking forward to returning.

In my opinion Dumpling King has the best dumplings I ever had. Plump. Fresh. Stuffed. All made from scratch. You can watch the ladies making these dumplings through a window inside. This time I had th dried vegetable and pork dumplings. Simply the best. They raised their prices by $2 but still holds great value. Then I had seafood udon noodle soup served in a large bowl. It only cost $12.99 while other Chinese restaurants would charge $21. What great value. I went to the Pembroke Pines location on Unuversity. This is a must try.

Dumpling King is one of those hidden local gems you'd probably drive past without realizing how good it is... and that's a mistake. I've been here multiple times and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about the food they're serving. Everything tastes fresh and handmade, especially the dumplings. The wrappers are perfectly tender, the fillings are flavorful, and nothing tastes mass produced or rushed. The space itself is clean, simple, and comfortable.... exactly what you want for a casual dumpling spot. Service is efficient, orders come out hot, and the quality is consistent every single visit. We ordered the beef soup dumplings and the chive, pork, and shrimp steamed dumplings. Both were excellent especially if you pair it with the chili crisp oil and dumpling sauce. If you're craving real, comforting dumplings and want to support a local spot that does things right, this place is absolutely worth stopping into. A true hidden gem that delivers every time.

Great food, fast service and nice host. Will be coming back again. It is a in and out spot. Limited menu but gas what you need.

Fried chicken wings

I have been here a few times and finally got the chance to try the fried chicken wings. They have a hint of curry and are absolutely scrumptious. I adore the soup dumplings; they never disappoint. We also got an order of pork pak choy dumplings and had to take some home. We always order too much for two people because we see so much that we want to eat. We never tip at the register when tallying our food demands one. We leave a tip on the table after service is received. And tonight it was exceptional service, especially with a manager who walked around and checked to make sure diners were pleased.

Shanghai soup dumplings
Jennifer L.

We visited on a Saturday early evening. The service was quick and staff were friendly. The Shanghai Soup dumplings were the best item we ordered, but we also tried the Braised Chicken , Beef Noodle Soup and Spicy Beef. Overall, a good place to satisfy a dumpling craving at reasonable prices. They also offer various bubble teas, which were pretty good.

Shanghai soup dumplings, Thai tea, pork fried dumplings, spicy wontons.

I would totally come back! I wish they had a location in more south in Miami. We ordered fried pork dumplings, fried chive/pork/shrimp dumplings, Shanghai dumplings, and spicy wontons. We ordered two teas: Thai milk team & peach green tea. Ordering was easy and the staff were helpful. I like how you can watch them make the dumplings. It's a clean and chill spot.

Inside, there are a lot of tables and in talking with my friends and the staff, it can get crazy busy, especially on weekends. But it wasn't too bad on a weekday early afternoon. We went for dim sum; they give you a menu with pictures and names, and a piece of paper to mark on what items you would like. Sometimes they'll names don't quite match but it's not too bad. They bring them from the kitchen when it's ready One tip for you: it's easy to over order, so you might order a smaller number of things and see how it goes, and order more later. Anyway, they have very many seafood and veggie dishes, which suits me just fine. And the waitress was making sure to point out what dishes had meat in them as she brought them to the table. That was very considerate. The price point for each item is on the high side, but the quantity is good. But of course it adds up in a hurry (another reason to see my tip about over ordering!) All in all, a pleasant meal and I was full when I left.

Hands down the best restaurant for dim sum specifically in the Pembroke Pines area…read more China Pavilion is located in a pretty chill shopping center not too far from Pembroke Lakes mall. The restaurant feels very authentic to how Chinese restaurants are, the restaurant has a fish tank at the entrance which is very on brand and over all it's a pretty casual space. The food is really good and there are so many items on the menu, that I definitely recommend coming with a few people so you can try all the things you want without it being way too much food. There are a few waiters/waitresses and they all attentive. Even though one person takes the order, the other servers may bring your food, get you another drink, or clear things off of your table. This is also another restaurant I will definitely be back to and highly recommend, especially if you're looking for Dim Sum in Pines.

Since then, the restaurant has changed names and hands several times, and I keep going back each time to try it. The last time we were there was a couple of years ago. We went for dim sum and were disappointed. Recently, people have been raving about the dim sum under the new ownership, so we went today after church to give it another try. It was jam packed. And after a 15-20 minute wait, we got a table. The restaurant had a crowd, so service was fast and furious. The table we got had spilled tea and the server simply sopped up the tea, using napkins and wiping the entire table with that pile of napkins, and then seated us. (What? No spray or fresh wipe?) We were hungry, sat, and grabbed a few of our favorite items from the rolling carts. We would give the dim sum a solid 7 out of 10, although we thought the rice paper wrapping on some of the items is a bit thicker than we like. Things like the sticky rice, which usually has chopped chicken, pork, shrimp, and Chinese sausage, basically had chopped meat and a little bit of sausage. The football-shaped fried taro dumplings were crispy and tasty but we did not like the filling. The rolling carts give the experience a more authentic feel. I would add a half star for the ambience and freshness of the food. So, 3.5 stars. (Yelp doesn't allow half stars.) However, we have a favorite dim sum restaurant in Pembroke Pines and would rather drive all the way there from Plantation to enjoy a 5-star dim sum experience.

When you enter you are immediately greeted at the front and quickly seated. Our waitress came to bring us water and take our order within a few minutes. I only came for the soup dumplings. Also come 3 per order. We loved both and were happy with flavor, seasoning. Especially how fast the food came out. I would call this a small restaurant. The space is very casual with ample seating. To eat, I tried the fried shrimp taro cake, fried crab rangoon, pan fried pork dumplings and special lomein. The fried shrimp taro cake was the best thing I've tried that day. It was delicious and I could eat this all day, everyday. The fried crab rangoon was also delicious and I will definitely order it again. The pork dumplings were tasty too. The special lomein had pork, chicken and shrimp and it was very good. It also came with white rice, which was had no seasoning, but that was expected. The special lomein is definitely a shareable dish. Overall, the service was good and the food was very tasty. I was also very surprised how affordable it was. Keep in mind, the actual big sign to this place says "Wong's" but I found out that Yip just opened on 10.08.22 and they are waiting for their official Yip sign. This is a tiny location that accommodates takeout and delivery orders only. There is not seating with tables & chairs. There is one bench out in front you can sit down and eat at but other than that, it's a quick order and go kind of place. We've been to the Yip at 1-800-Lucky in Wynwood and the Yip in Aventura. Super stoked for this new location as it's more local. They had us at YIP and dumplings. The prices are fair and not super crazy for the dim sum options. They also offer Peking Duck, wings, fried rice, lo mein, soups and other options. We were here yesterday when we found out about Yip but went to dinner at Leafy. Today the kids wanted soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings. So guess where we ended up? You already know the answer. Got har gao (shrimp dumplings, pork xiao long Bao (soup dumplings) and cha siu bao bbq pork buns. The soup dumplings were legit but man I have a hard time comparing everyone's soup dumplings to Din Tai Ding's super thin soup dumpling skin. That does it for me. The kids seemed to really enjoy most of the items ordered today, so we have happy kids over here! The shrimp dumpling skin is way too thick. The kids didn't love it as much. They really enjoyed the soup dumplings best and then the bbq pork buns. Want to try other items on menu. Go see Jamie and tell her we sent you. She comes from the 1-800-Lucky location so this is a nice and quiet change of ambiance for her. Ha. In case you didn't know too, Yip is also owned by Gold Marquess in Pembroke Pines, which is our favorite dim sum spot in town. Woohoo! By the way, no cash accepted here so be prepared.

One Star -- The Worst Chinese Restaurant Experience I Have Ever Had…read more I had an extremely disappointing lunch at Toa Toa Dim Sum & Seafood. My meal cost $62.96, but the food quality and the owner's response were completely unacceptable. The waitress recommended the stir-fried conch ($34.99). It was tasteless and so chewy that it felt like eating rubber bands. The green vegetables served with it were extremely tough and almost impossible to chew. I explained the problem to the owner. To my surprise, he admitted that he already knew about it. I asked him why he would continue serving a dish that he knew had a problem and could barely be eaten. He simply smiled. There was no apology, no expression of regret, no discount, and no offer to replace the dish. The pork buns ($6.95) were extremely dry. The steamed shrimp dumplings ($6.95) fell apart as soon as I picked one up with my chopsticks because the wrappers were breaking. When I mentioned this, the owner told me that I could not compare his food with food in Hong Kong. I was not expecting the highest Hong Kong standards--I was simply expecting basic quality from a Chinese restaurant. The final dish, steamed vegetables with oyster sauce, was badly overcooked. The owner said that he had taken over the restaurant about a month ago, although Toa Toa has been here for several years. Based on this experience, I believe the food has become even worse under the new ownership. Every dish I ordered had a quality problem, and the owner's dismissive response made the experience even worse. I left feeling that I had completely wasted $62.96. Even if this food were free, I would not want to eat it again. This was the worst Chinese restaurant experience I have ever had. I cannot recommend this restaurant.
